Hempfield Animal Hospital Lancaster, Pennsylvania

They saved our dog from being bit by something a weekend at our camp. She would not eat and was not her normal self. They diagnosed her problems and got her well again. She is their miracle patient. I would recommend them to anyone.

Thank you to the entire staff for going above and beyond to take care of my puppy. She had excellent care from an exceptional group of wonderful, dedicated workers. My puppy Cuddles had her spay done and they were so accommodating to my work schedule.

ALERT*** This business was just sold and it’s not business as usual! It seems as if being a vet and now owning the business is much to stressful because my dog almost paid the price! My guess is you will see more negative reviews but hopefully I’m wrong!

The veterinarian that we see is very nice, as well as everyone that we interacted with while we were there.

So they are wonderful if you have an easy run of the mill issue. However, they do not keep current with treatments and are not creative problem solvers with typical uncooperative cats. The vet could not examine my cat, nor expressed any knowledge of her specialty when approaching/trying to examine my onery feline. Since they are animal specialists, I was looking to them on ways to examine my kitty. (Muzzle? Restraint bag etc??) But ZERO suggestions from the vet. My kitty needed her sanitary dreadlocks shaved (not asking anything outside the scope of practice for a vet) and the techs/vet had again ZERO suggestions for creative problem solving other than anesthesia to sedate her so she wouldn't fight the grooming...UM, so I'm supposed to pay hundreds of dollars for simple grooming? I ended up finding a groomer that WAS a creative problem solver and a vet that keeps current with treatments, so I will be going there. This vet is great for simple basic stuff, outside of that, you should probably get a second opinion.

Wonderful people we lost our little baby but they made me feel like they cared

I have had multiple experiences at Hempfield Animal Hospital and really appreciate their service. The staff is nice and will answer all your questions. They do not make you feel like you are running over your time or asking dumb questions. They have been great with the care of our puppy.

Dr. Purvis is fantastic--so knowledgeable, professional, and kind. I was so impressed with her staff too. They are warmly friendly and clearly so good at what they do. Lori, Dakota and Jennelle could not have been kinder to my little Jack Russell with spinal stenosis and a heart condition. Dr. Purvis took extra time to explain the radiograph to me in ways I could understand and helped me learn how best to care for my elderly boy going forward. I had felt very scared for him but I feel so much better knowing there is a team like this available to help us. So grateful!!!

Nice veterinary hospital. The staff us super nice and the doctors are knowledgeable and nice also. They have competitive rates for their heartworm and flea and tick medicine and have some special foods on hand. The office is clean and does not smell bad as in some vets. They have a little section outside the building with fire hydrants for your dog to do his business before coming in. This is our second dog we have taken here and will continue to do so. Recommended.

Dr. Edkin is absolutely amazing with the animals. You can tell just how much he cares about each one of his patients. The staff is just as wonderful.

The vet techs are all very compassionate as well as the vet! We always receive outstanding care when we go for an appointment.

They are caring and knowledgeable. And I've noticed prices are less than other animal hospitals in the area.

The doctors and staff were wonderful and went the extra mile to explain what was occurring with our pet. We will be switching both of our dogs to theis practice. I have been to five different vts over the years and Hempfield Animal Hospital stands out.

They always take good care of our dog buddy..recently had an ear infection and a tick bite, luckily all was resolved!

They are awesome. So caring and knowledgeable. They take great care in handling and performing whatever the medical need may be. They also treat us the owners as important as our pets.

Would not recommend this vet especially if you have an emergency during business hours. They will ask you to goto the PETS ER. Was a long time customer and when I needed them the most they weren't there twice. No on-call Vets and heck some days they don't have even a vet on-site during business hours like today when we had an emergency. Another vet took us right in today due to the emergency and thats the service I expect. Good luck.

Man's best friend. You are the best dog ever. You will be tremendously missed. But You guys made it as good as it could be.

Great help for my sick puppy

Dr Edkin has always been amazingly compassionate and helpful. This visit was for my current dog Lady but he also cared for my previous dog Foxy during her illness and passing. Love their kindness and compassion
