Really Disappointed. After spending just short $600 on a yearly check up and vaccines for my pup just 2 days ago, I decided to help my brother and schedule his yearly check-up / vaccines for his dog. We work together and his schedule sometimes changes last minute due to the nature of our work. While on the phone the receptionist informed me that there was an overdue balance of $59 on his account due to missed appointments last year. Not a problem, I understand the fee and did not disagree . I informed her that I would pay the late fee along with the new invoice total when I bring in his dog. She would not schedule an appointment and I was certain if the manager/doctor heard my intention to pay everything at once and me bringing my brothers dog there myself and not involving him but Dr Fry. would not allow it. The amount of people/friends/clients that I have referred to your business reaches double digits. The business decision made here was a huge surprise to me and unfortunate. I really thought highly of this establishment and the veterinary assistants do very well with the animals. It's a real shame that management could not be empathetic in this situation. Instead $59 dollars affected them so much that even for a repeat paying customer like myself could not be trusted to pay the fee in person? It's always about the money in the end though unfortunately, forget the dogs health, the need their $59. I've donated and adopted multiple dogs through Brindle Buddies group as well. This was just a disappointing situation that I could not just let go as I usually would. We will bring our pups to a loving place that appreciates their loyal customers.

My fiancé and our beloved cat moved to the Reading area with me a few months ago from the Lancaster/York area. We needed to look for a new vet and were suggested The Vet on Main by one of her coworkers. Every experience since becoming one of their customers has been exceptional. This team is vigilant, diligent, reliable, trustworthy, and above all else extremely professional. We felt we made a good choice when we brought our cat in for her yearly exam. Then, not three weeks later, our cat became ill over the weekend and experienced digestive issues. I made a call that Saturday night to book an appointment for their earliest convenience. I received a call back on Monday morning BEFORE they opened to schedule her for same day and in spite of the fact that our cat seemed to have worked whatever she ate out of her system. The appointment could have been seen as a waste of time, but this team examined her stool, took her temperature, checked her abdomen, confirmed her diet with me and considered any possible causes of the brief illness instead of disregarding the issue altogether because the symptoms had passed. I was amazed at the level of care and attention our pet was given. Look nowhere else, this is the vet for you!

Wonderful place to take your animals. I took my new cat, I had no information on him and they told me all about him and were very polite and great with animals.

A little background story that I feel is important to share in order for people to see how much of a great place this is. - I received Charlie as a birthday gift years ago to help me with my depression and anxiety, and my grieving process. Before Charlie, I really felt no connection to life and felt as if I had no purpose. I just lost someone I loved very much and felt very lost. However, Charlie came around and helped me through all the pain and has lifted me up more than any therapy, medication, or person has ever lifted me up. My dog is my other half. He is the best part of my life and the one part that makes me whole even when I’m falling apart! I have always been hesitant on where to take my pups for his care... I have been to multiple vets but none made me feel completely comfortable with the care he was receiving. When he was up for a dental exam and I heard the word ANESTHESIA I became soo paranoid and nervous! The Vet On Main was so comforting to me in reassuring and explaining his procedure as well as keeping me informed with his progress with informative phone calls. In addition, they went over after care with me and called me the very next day to ensure Charlie is doing well. Dr. Fry herself examined Charlie and she did an absolutely amazing job on my little guy. The nurses and staff have always been so polite and show an immense amount of empathy! I am so grateful for people like them! I highly recommend the Vet On Main and this is coming from a dog mama that loves her baby like it’s her own child! :-)

I was just berated by Dr. Fry at the vet on main for the brand of dog food that I feed my dog. I can understand a doctors passion in what brands to feed a dog, but the unprofessional way I was just treated is extremely unacceptable. I will never return or recommend this vet to anyone.

This vet is amazing. My pet is a complicated case and I switch recently and the first visit was more informative and helpful than my previous vet. They care... Like really care about your pet and your relationship with your pet. The staff is so friendly and helpful. They are affordable and finding this quality of care at affordable costs is unheard of. Please give this vet a chance if you are looking to switch. It was the smartest thing I did and I know my furbaby will in the best care.
