VCA Northside Animal Hospital Bethlehem, Pennsylvania

It seems they now have a policy of attempting to sell a "CareClub" membership in the middle of an exam under pressure. The service is ostensibly supposed to save you money, by signing up for a monthly membership that covers basic things for free with the membership. They handed me printouts appended with handwritten information, attempting to correct multiple errors with the printout and computer system's recognition of the service. The more you look at the information, the more you realize it isn't worth the hassle. Nothing adds up, the computer system can't even recognize the covered services properly, no good cost comparison is given. But it costs $637 a year for the *cheap* plan, and could cover services right then and there, so you are forced to try to make a large financial decision under pressure in office. The staff are friendly and I don't think they mean to cause a bad experience, but it inevitably confuses the whole pricing situation. This is a vet's office, not a used car lot. Just offer good service at competitive prices. And the prices are not competitive, with or without the membership.

We have been using VCA Northside for our 15 month old Oreo ever since we got him - and we have been impressed with the quality of service. The doctors and nurses are amazing - very professional and take good care whenever we need their help. They call back to follow up and are very responsive. We have also used the grooming services and Sheryl is highly recommended! Great job VCA Northside team!

The whole staff are caring and friendly people, but it can be a little pricey

Northside Animal Hospital is wonderful. The Staff is amazing. I received 3 calls during the week asking how Maysun was doing. They are so friendly and caring.

While we have only been to VCA Northside once, under terrible circumstances, they were very kind and considerate. Our beloved senior pitbull, Prometheus was starting to show some very concerning signs of age. We had to make a very hard decision to euthanize him. VCA Northside was very kind through the whole process. They were considerate to my husband. They even put us at ease in our decision, they explained the alternative option, which was to put him through a battery of testing which would only make him uncomfortable and would do nothing more than keep him alive for our benefit. They really put us at ease that we were doing the best thing for Prometheus. They also sent him for a private cremation and all signed a very lovely card for him. I greatly appreciate the care and comfort that both he and my husband received.

Wow what a difference from the other Vet and I haven't had the pleasure of coming into this office yet! Diane was wonderful and gave me suggestions for my new puppy Kato! Can't wait to bring him in ❤

This was my 1st visit to Northside. I had a very sick dog that could not be diagnosed by another vet. They were kind enough to get us in. They took their time and did a thorough exam and a needle biopsy. With their information about their findings and our careful consideration for several options, we decided to put him down (he would not have lived 1-2 weeks). Their compassion and empathy was overflowing. They guided us through the process professionally and with love. I highly recommend them!

I love this place, I originally went as their vaccinations were a bit cheaper then the other vet had been but these guys are awesome. They helped both my elderly cats so much and are very down to earth and straight forward on cost, etc. Dr. Strause was great especially with my monster cat Oliver who is beyond crazy when it comes to going to the vet. I most definitely recommend.

The vet is good, and as far as I know they did the stuff I was charged for, however I was given medication for my pet too frequently (monthly dose, every 2 weeks occasionally). They push a care plan that doesn't seem to actually cover much, you still have to pay for things it should have covered.

I’ve been going to VCA Northside for 13+ years to see Dr. Russell - she is excellent. VCA staff is super helpful and quick to respond.

Great with exotic pets! Recently visited with my kitten and continue to be pleased with their care. Friendly and knowledgeable staff - you are in good hands here!

We use VCA for their grooming services by Cheryl. She loves dogs, plain as day! She's also very good at problem solving. My wife and I had the virus earlier this year and we were not able to keep up with brushing our goldendoodle, so he was a mess when we brought him to her. She took care of the problems and did an excellent job overall. We continue to use her and she's great. Mickey loves her also! Plus, I'm impressed by the rest of the staff. Very professional. We have a vet a few blocks from us in Bethlehem that we are very happy with but if anything ever changed for them, I'm sure we would travel to VCA.

1st experience with animal euthanasia met by a compassion staff.

VCA Northside has been the veterinary clinic of choice for over 16 years. The veterinarians and techs have provided quality care. My dog can't wait to see Dr Russell and "Aunt Bernie" when she goes for exams or nail trims. The office staff is professional, friendly and accommodating.b

I had a very pleasant experience with this office earlier this week. The lobby and exam room were extremely clean and the staff was very friendly and attentive even though it was a very busy morning. The tech and veterinarian really took their time to obtain pertinent information and discuss all angles of possible treatments and offered to quote costs as well. I had used this location previously for other pets and will continue to trust them with the care of my current pets.

The Vets are skilled and knowledgeable, techs and receptionists are very friendly, and overall they offer a great service here. It is not the cheapest pet care you can get, but the outstanding level of service we receive has never made us think of going anywhere else. After our cat had a costly operation, the Vet waived the fees for our follow up visit. The receptionists frequently followed up with us (via text which is extremely convenient) and gave us informative advice from the Vets, free of charge, to make sure our pet was doing fine after the operation.

I used to love this place when I had what they deemed a cute pug. I since rescued a pitbull. When I had my pug Layla, they would take her in a heartbeat even if they were closing within half hour. They treated her like gold. Flash forward to now. I have a pitbull instead. If you have a pitbull, stay far away from this vet. I called them at 5pm to see if they could take a quick look at my dog who had just been in a violent attack and half her face was ripped off. They closed at 8pm. REFUSED TO SEE HER. Despicable. Never again will I count on them for my pets. You should be ashamed of yourselves for turning away an extremely injured dog

When you need a good provider for your fur babies this is the place to come. Great insurance plans and friendly staff.

Dr. KP was absolutely fantastic. He was very gentle and informative. You can tell he really cares :)

Been going to this practice for over 35 years with a wife variety of pets. Always a kind and caring staff willing to help however they can. Just wish they'd have vets available on Sundays.

These guys do a great job. We have rabbits and a dog and they have helped us numerous times. Great to work with.
