This place is awesome everyone there is professional and are looking to adopt out as many pets as they can it was the best decision I made to find an animal out of all of the places that I've looked at. I adopted a 1-year-old Bijon, his name is Colin and he's an awesome puppy. Their selection of puppies that were there was unbelievable they have puppies that need extra care and puppies that just need your loving. I feel that if you can't find a puppy that you're looking for there that you're going to be spending big dollars on one outside of the Humane society. I want to thank them for all they've done for me and to keep up the great work.Thank you sincerely Jim O'Brien

They really don’t want to adopt out animals. We were looking to adopt cat and dog we were told only 1 animal ok. We decided on a dog Took my dog to meet one of their dogs : their dog did not like mine so instead of asking were there any other dogs you are interested in person walked away and left us there just with open mouth like what the hell Any way I went to another shelter and left with a cat and dog and all the animals get along 200%

It takes an amazing group of people to do what this facility does. The love and care that they show for each and every one of their animals and the clients that come in is definitely apparent. It is busy there, it is chaotic at times but they still have smiles on their faces and it means a lot when you go in there.

My family adopted a dog many years ago from The Lehigh County Humane Society and we never regretted it. We brought him home the day after Christmas. (There are no adoptions allowed right before Christmas due to the fact they may be given as a Christmas present and then tossed aside like any other toy.) Once he was home we discovered he loved Milkbones. The postman would give him one and Cody would promptly give it to the rabbit who lived under our shed! He was a complete joy. We never regretted what we considered a small inconvenience (filling out an application & and paying a fee) for 13 years of joy from Cody. We love and miss you Cody. Incidentally, The Lehigh County Humane Society is striving to become a no-kill shelter. They currently are able to save 90% of the animals brought in. The volunteers take very good care of all of the animals and hope that soon every animal brought in will find a forever home.

Always take my animals here for services. And I always donate as much food, treats, blankets and whatever else they need as much as I can. I actually coupon so I can help more often. We are all for adopting shelter animals. Thank you for all you do!!

This is a great place if you're looking to adopt a pet or two for yourself. The staff is wonderful and they have an in-house veterinarian. Yes, we ended up adopting two kittens

Huge waste of time. Everything went well with the visit and they wouldn't let us in. Even though we were approved

I adopted my cat, Nica who was known as Basil at the shelter, from the Humane Society back in March 2021 after a devastating loss of my prior cat. The adoption process was seamless and the cat area where I first visited Nica was very clean and cats seemed quite social and well taken care of. I am so thankful for the Humane Society to have brought Nica into my life and I highly recommend adopting from the Humane Society!

Yesterday was the last day that our group will ever take a cat to this Kill Shelter. 1 of the 4 cats brought in for TNR had an injured paw. They said that it was septic, bone exposed and called Carol Dos Santos (Aunt Helen's Cats In Need) who told them to euthanize it. The cat could have been saved. If antibiotics would not have worked, then the paw or leg could have been amputated.. There were other alternatives It is not right how quick they are to put these cats down. You can not call this place a No Kill Shelter. They claim to be going for a goal from 97% to 100% No kill. That is definitely not the case, especially when they are euthanizing ear tipped cats brought in by the Allentown Animal Control.

I love the Lehigh county humane society. Especially nowadays. It has changed so much since 2009 when I worked there. I took my daughter this particular day. She was getting mobbed with kitties and she loved every bit of it.

Very responsive and friendly staff. This is my first time having dogs and therefore first time to get some procedures/tests done! My one year old female dog was fixed here along with her vaccines, microchip (currently free for Allentown residents), heart worm test w/ preventive medicine and unfortunately found out my baby has Lyme Disease! She was only with me roughly two months so I had no idea nor previous info from her past. The male staff member came out to inform me and was super sympathetic and made me feel ok about everything. He had a kind approach to delivering not so great news. I’m happy to see the compassion amongst all staff at every level! I’ll always come here with both of my dogs for their services they provide! It’s super affordable too. $240 for fixing female dog, all vaccines including rabies and Lyme, teeth clean and nails trimmed. Totally worth it and I’m super pleased with my dogs recovery. I recommend whenever you stop in to get a dog license! Didn’t know this was even a thing, it’s like $6.
