Update 10/4: After this incident I received a call from Dr. Boutet at Banfield. She has been fantastic with my pup, although I have switched Banfield locations and will not be returning to Sellwood. I have my pup on one of their wellness plans which seems like a great value. Today I brought her in on a follow up for some persistent uti issues she is experiencing, also asked them to trim her nails. The doctor today wanted to try her on what he called a "new antibiotic" that she has already tried. He would have seen that if he looked at her chart. On review of the visit summary, they gave her a vaccine two weeks ahead of schedule, she wasn't due for another two weeks, she just had the previous vaccine last week. When I called their office the receptionist said she would talk to the doctor and have him call me back. He never called me back but the receptionist did and said "there shouldn't be too bad of side effects. The vaccine just won't work as well." Not her fault, but Dr. May is definitely negligent. My pup is also limping on one of her paws, and when I try to pick her up she kind of breathes really high pitched. I think they must have hurt her trimming her nails, not sure why she is crying when we pick her up but altogether a disturbing and upsetting experience. I will not be putting my pups health in these people's hands.

They treated my best friend and my self with such a love and care that when I got a replacement I just had to go back.

They upsell you and do not practice quality medicine. Give you misinformation about food that could actually help your dog. Overall terrible experience with banfield every time

Pretty horrible experience the last few visits. We finally switched vets! Very unprofessional, and disorganized. Additionally, they are not thorough with exams and left one of our cats undiagnosed with a serious medical condition. I would only recommend coming here if you can’t find anywhere else. They aren’t cruel, and I don’t think the staff mean any harm but my goodness they don’t have it together. It’s very obvious it’s run by a corporation that is in the business of making money! I understand, that’s what a business is for.. but these are our animals lives, not sneakers.

My friend's dogs seemed at ease with the young man who brought them to the car. He was patient and thorough with passing information regarding their care needs to my friend.

Had a great visit with this location today! Everyone was very nice and very patient with me as I just moved to Oregon and had a lot of questions with how things were ran here. Thank you so much for the excellent care and service! I appreciate you guys!

They are the best pet hospital. They helped me take the best care of my black lab. For 16 and half years Banfield has helped keep my dog healthy. We have been coming to this location since it opened and can't say enough positive things about this office. The staff and doctors are friendly and kind to both pets and their owners.

There not as concerned as me about my pet I pay 700 a year and in an emergency they can't do anything shouldn't call yourself emergency clinic

They were great with my cat and dog. They are even great about working with cost. They have comp first visit coupons as well.!!

Have to he honest. Tho I think they did a decent job, the truth is they were very unorganized. Not 1 step of my visit went well. No one knew what the previous person had said, I was unable to complete online info.

We've been apart of Banfield care team at 2 locations for 15 years! Dr. Nickel has been our amazing primary Doc, but every staff member is "all in" and exceptional. They've been there for us with all of our precious dogs over the years. The puppy plan/pet insurance is another reason we also feel cared for and are able to facilitate optimal health for our little family members. Thanks!!!

Expensive, local, and when I had a concern, the vet addressed it with me in a professional, respectful manner.

I love banfield pet hospital, basically been taking pets there as long as I can remember 30 years plus. But. It always feels like they're trying to upsell and I just don't like that.

Dr. Nickel has been so unbelievably kind and helpful with my dog over the past year. My border collie/pittie mix can be a handful and gets very nervous at the vet. So much so that we have had to part ways with a much less capable vet on Division street who was not willing to even try to work with him. Banfield has gone out of their way on 4 seperate occasions to make my pet and myself comfortable with their procedures, with their staff, and has made all types of accomodations to ensure financial and emotional comfort. I could not give a higher commendation for the entire staff. We will stick with this office permanently, and we are so thankful to have found them.

Friendly and informative took my baby dog there and I am going back tomorrow for 2nd appointment

I hope you read and seriously consider this before bringing your pet to this location or any Banfield. These reviews are manipulated, their Consumer Review score is 1.3 out of 5! It would be lower but the lowest you can choose is 1 star. Their only desire and purpose is to prescribe expensive supplements or treatments. We scheduled an appointment for 10:30 AM, had our boy there 10 minutes early. At 10:45 they got to us. We dropped him off for X-rays ($450), they said it would be a couple hours. 2.5 hours later they had not communicated anything. 3.5 hours later they had not even looked at him, so we just left with him then. So after missing an entire day of work our boy never even got X-rays. The front desk person said X-rays take about 20 minutes- so whats the excuse? Banfield takes advantage of customers and has no accountability; overbooking themselves to make extra money while wasting customers time, rather than booking the appropriate amount of appointments per day. A premium price warrants premium service. With Banfield you get premium price, terrible service.

Excellent staff and doctor, very sweet with our puppy. As a health care provider, I appreciate all the precautions they took to slow the spread of Covid. Highly recommend. Rhune

Banfield in Sellwood Oregon This week, I had to do the hardest thing I have ever done. I had to put my 19 year old cat down. I had her for 18 years. The staff here was unbelievably kind and attentive to my sobbing self. I felt like I was the only patient there. They hugged me (multiple time), they consoles me, they treated my Bella with nothing but love and care as if she were their own. I have never been through that process and when I told them that (after they graciously asked) they walked me gently through every step with such love and grace. March 3rd was the hardest day of my life and they somehow eased my pain. I can’t thank them enough.

Couldn't get us in, but very caring and helpful. I'm not a fan of banfield as a group, which his why the missing star.

About what i expected to pay and most of the staff was really nice and great with my cat. No complaints

Amazing staff and customer service. Allowed me to talk through my concern as a "dog Parent". I recommend this location to anyone needing care for their pet. Dr. Overton was everything one could hope for in a veterinarian. A great experience.

I most definitely expected more from banfield than what I've been receiving for my insurance so I'd have to say on all the insurance isn't worth it but from what I know they have decent vets but I should be able to get my cat in .in emergency without notice because if there's something wrong with someone's pet they should set them ahead of others like the emergency would at a hospital maybe I just see pets as people and they don't but other than that they'll fix your cat and warm it

They lost my phone call. 2nd round, Im on hold for15 minutes before a new person started the conversation anew. Couldn't get my injured dog seen for over a week
