Canine Perfection was able to quickly get me scheduled with a groomer and stop in same day. Amazing and quality service, and my dog is feeling great!

Quite rude at front desk...my pup had a seizure, that has never happened before. They have waY to many dogs grooming at the same time. Tried twice, never went back.

I could not agree with all of the one star reviews more. They all have to do with Michelle’s behavior and rude treatment . (Owner) I took my Coton De Tulear for a couple 2,3 years enduring the high cost and hours drive because Michelle is truly gifted at grooming. It was finally the last straw though when I had gotten another Coton & she insisted and actually yelled at me in front of employees, for not bringing in my months old (not quite a year yet) dog for grooming so he could get used to her and the facility. (I was successfully grooming and bathing him at home, he would fall asleep in the sink and love the care I was giving him. That is to say, super easy and not a hardship unlike my sensitive lady Coton) I explained that I owe her nothing and it is my choice to hire whom I want to groom my own dogs. I told the receptionist I would not be returning due to her bosses inappropriate, entitled, obnoxious behavior. My female Coton almost hyperventilates when I take her to the groomer both then and now, and since reading the reviews I suspect foul treatment. Like another review I let it slide and gave Michelle the benefit of the doubt. My mistake. She is not a nice person. I can do nothing now but console my girl and try to find a groomer who is professional and knows how to groom these difficult to groom dogs. My dogs are both well trained and responsive dogs but sadly few groomers (none I have tried yet) out there actually know what they are doing beyond the common breeds. It’s been 1.5 years now and I still haven’t found anyone . I would highly caution you to not patron this groomer!

Started bringing our dog over a year ago, started out wonderfully with a groomer. Then she left and the last 6 months have been horrible with multiple issues of clipper burns. Brought it to their attention and was curtly dismissed. Tried again and the same thing happened again, and I was close to needing to seeing the vet. Mentioned it again, and was not even given an apology. It’s unfortunate to say that their attitude, professionalism and reliability to keep clients have clearly diminished.

IF YOU CARE ABOUT YOUR DOG, CONSIDER READING THIS POST! I have taken my dog to Canine Perfection four times; three grooms and the last appointment was cancelled on the spot due to their scheduling mismanagement (after I drove 2 hours one way for the appointment). In summary, below are some issues I've experienced: 1. Poor quality a. their grooming caused extensive hot spots on my dogs head, twice, that required hundreds of dollars to treat each time. I've called them about the wounds and they showed little empathy. b. over groomed my golden's coat, extremely short and not breed standard, without my consent . 2. Poor Management a. consistent scheduling issues; will commit to have dog done at a specific time and then they are not done even within a half hour of stated time b. quotes a price and the final bill is significantly higher~every time. They say it will be $115 and that is a set price but when you go to pay the bill it is over $200 3. Unprofessional During our third visit to CP, the owner shamed me/my dog for how dirty my dog was, not groomed, and general disdain for her unkemptness. It should be noted it had only been a few months since she was groomed and the delay was due to COVID restrictions. 4. Concern for handling of dogs When I have brought my dog to Canine Perfection, she becomes hysterical; jumps at the door to escape the store and attempts to jump into my lap in fear. For context, my dog is a golden who is laid back and never has acted like this at any previous groomers (or anywhere...she's a goldie and goes with the flow almost everywhere...except for CP). This unusual fearful behavior of my dog has me wondering what is going on during the grooming sessions.....

WOW!!! I am sooooooooo disappointed! I was talking with the dog groomer, Wendy at CANINE PERFECTION in Lake Grove about my dogs upcoming appointment. Our conversation was going along great, UNTIL I commented that I was not comfortable having to wear a mark to drop my dog off. Then the conversation went downhill very quickly! To make a long story shorter . . .I explained to Wendy over and OVER again, that while I do not agree with having to wear a mask, I do fully understand that it IS a requirement of the business AND I AGREED TO COMPLY. Wendy went on to tell me that she is CANCELLING my dogs grooming appointment because I QUESTIONED wearing a mask! I simply and ONLY shared my own personal feelings about the wearing of mask, I did NOT refuse to wear the mask when dropping off my dog! I fully AGREED TO COMPLY and wear the mask as it is a requirement of the business. Wendy went on to tell me that CANINE PERFECTION are very busy and she can "Fill Tiny's appointment in two minutes" thus indicating that she could care less about me as a customer and doesn't need my business! Wendy also commented to me, "We don't need customers like you!" This happened purely because we had a DIFFERENCE OF OPINION! I was very clear, repeatedly, that I AGREED to comply with the requirements of the business and wear a mask to drop off my dog. Now my dog has no grooming appointment! I am super disappointed in CANINE PERFECTION! This is how things are going people - - - - -if you so much as share you opinion on things, you get cut off, CANCELLED, shut down, de-friended, glared at, cast out, put down, etc, etc, etc. So very sad to see what things are coming to! Feeling down ????

Depending on the groomer there is considerable variability in the quality of the services. Ms. Evans, the owner, is an outstanding groomer, I'm sure, but she is generally not the one to groom your dog. When one finally figures out that she is not the one who actually grooms your dog, you are given the impression that she is the one who finishes your dog, but that is also not the case. When scissoring is what is indicated and you ask for it, you're still given a clipper cut and charged for the former. In addition, the receptionist has an excuse or reason to charge between $30-$50 more than the initial estimate. The reason or excuse given is either not applicable or untrue, respectively. In addition, one has the distinct impression that this shop regards itself as the ne plus ultra of grooming salons, which it may be -- but lets you know it in no uncertain and snippy terms. We've had enough of this rudeness!

I bring my 11 lb long hair chi-mix here to have a wash, trim, and nail cut. He hates being groomed, but they are so kind and patient with him. They can be a bit pricy, but you are definitely getting what you pay for. I highly recommend.

After waiting a month for my appointment, I was told I had no appointment. With no apology, the receptionist recommended I call a mobile groomer. I have a 17 year old pup and was referred here by a friend in the dog training industry because they will work with two groomers on one dog, making the experience easier on the elderly pup. Well, after telling me they have my information right there, with the date I was going to come in, but they never actually booked my appointment, (?) the receptionist began to talk about how they were "phasing out" working on older dogs. Well, why schedule the appointment if you don't want to do the work? At least apologize, or call me so I don't have to wait a month to find a new groomer! So irresponsible, and very rude. Also, if I were this business owner, I'd remember that people with older dogs usually have younger dogs as well.

I had to drive 45 minutes to get our dogs to Canine Perfection and it was worth it. They are so good to the animals, great communicators with the humans. The dogs turned out beautifully. And so kind to our seniors that honestly were hospice patients, in chronic pain, blind, deaf so they offered warm epsom salt baths. Thank you Canine Perfection! We have a new vet that has grooming services much closer but we are big fans of all of you!

Canine Perfection has left a permanent and remaining impressing of what disturbing and unacceptable client service and pet grooming are. I do not typically write reviews. Still, as noted, this establishment was remarkably impressionable most cynically and negatively, and I feel it is my duty to inform anyone who is considering bringing their furry loved one there. The establishment is named “Canine Perfection,” and their mission statement is, “We work hard to maintain a calm and quiet atmosphere for your dog or cat. We work by appointment so that your pets receive individual care. All of our services are offered with compassion and expertise by Certified Master Groomers.” My pup did not receive this type of service or care. Nor did I receive any compassion or a calm atmosphere from the owner herself. At only our second visit, my pup came home with a bloodshot eye. It was apparent something went wrong during his visit; he was extremely stressed out and shaking when leaving. Yet, the employees elected not to mention what had happened, later behaving as if it was not significant or a big deal. Once I noticed my dog reacted to his visit, I immediately paid a visit to his vet. The veterinarian advised me this bloodshot hemorrhage could have been caused by only two things, strangulation (necktie too tight) or stress. Clearly, after hearing this, I was deep concern about how my dear pet could have been treated during his visit. As noted, I attempted to discuss this with the owner and the general employees. When finally, being able to meet in person, she quickly responded to the situation only after a few minutes by outing me. Mentioning in a hostile voice how she “didn’t need my business or money,” throwing me back what I had paid in the tip in cash out of her wallet — then noting how she didn’t care to hear what I had to say and that she just wanted me to leave and she then kicked me and my pup out. All of this occured in front of some of her employees, which to me, was completely unnecessary. I was completely thrown off by this behavior, lack of empathy, and complete avoidance to discuss what happened. I wasn’t there with the intention of any compensation, but I wanted to make sure that it never happened again, and to make sure that whoever was the “Certified Master Groomer” in charge of my dog would be let know that they need to be more gentle than what they were that day. Overall, the experience was the most disrespectful treatment I’ve ever received and the most unprofessional. I hope all the pet lovers out there taking the time to read this, please do your research and find a more loving place for your friendly pet. It seems this place only looks at our pets as simple numbers and just that, not as the furry loveable family members they are to us.

After over a year of being consistent customers, we thought we had found a groomer we would always bring our dog to. Not the case. After one scheduling conflict, pushing our normal cadence out a couple weeks, they decided they didn’t want to take our pup anymore. Shocking to us after a single mix up, to kick a loyal customer out the door. It is unfortunate the dedicated groomers and friendly reception staff fall victim to terrible management. Don’t count on this being your reliable groomer you can count on and receive respectful customer service.

A really fabulous experience - perhaps a smidge pricier than other locations but not excessively so and well worth it. From booking the appointment to meeting with the owner to a follow up call a couple of days later... This place really offers 5 star treatment for your little fur babies. Notes were taken during my phone call so they knew what I was looking for, my comments were noted and listened to (so spend some time thinking about exactly what you want because this place will provide it), and the pups look fabulous! Will definitely go back and would definitely recommend. Excellent all round.

I’ve taken my mixed breed rescue twice to Canine Perfection and have been very pleased with the service. He’s not a pedigree but they treated like him he was! He looks great, I will bring him back again. Worth the money. Sierra was sweet to my guy. Thanks

I took in my Newfie for a wash and groom just prior to her show. We were both novices at every aspect. Michell Evans and her people not only do an amazing job, but she also talks to you about what is done so that you understand. To make things even better, she offers classes on how to groom and wash your dog. It is not as easy as you might think, especially if you are showing. I have told all my Newfie friends and my breeder about Michell. She is the only person I will ever use.

Michelle is a top-notch professional. My dog's breed requires a unique type of hand-stripping that not many groomers have the know-how to pull off. Michelle has my fur-baby looking like a million bucks every time she comes in. Wish I could bring her in every week week! Michele is also very patient in explaining how and why, whenever I have questions about the process. I highly recommend her and Canine Perfection!

I didn't even know there was a sporty, practical, but still adorable hairstyle available for Lhasas! My dog has never been so clean, well-groomed, and happy! I highly recommend Canine Perfection! There's nothing like a happy dog!
