Puppernickel is a great store. They have wonderful fresh baked goods for your fur friend as well as locally supported goods. Not from China folks. The owners are so helpful, involved in the community and just do a fantastic job supporting Hillsboro. One of my pups has a medical problem, has to have meals cooked due to the need of a low fat diet. It's very difficult to find yummy treats that are low fat (5%) that my dog likes. They have them. They have the BEST bandanas, you won't find any better downtown. They are hand made, different sizes and so many fun patterns. Go visit. You will love it.

Krystal at Puppernickel always exceeds my expectations! I was running late to come pick up my dogs birthday cake I had ordered for him, and she stayed late to make sure I could get it to him. Not to mention, the cake was HUGE and such a hit for my dog. I will continue getting delicious birthday cakes every year and supporting them throughout the year as well! THANK YOU Puppernickel!!

Ordered 2 cakes for my dogs first birthday! And they were a hit for both small dogs (chihuahuas) and large dogs (golden retrievers)! Best of all none of them had upset stomachs(the littles have very sensitive tummies) , truly amazing cake!

The most charming and welcoming pet shop I have ever been to. Personalized (pup) cakes and treats made to order. So much fun to bring my dog to let her pick out a special toy and some homemade treats! Krystal, the owner, has really made this business a labor of love ????

This place is great! They have a big variety of dog items, I couldn't help but buy some toys and special treats for my pups. Krystal is very friendly and was helpful when I was asking about the cookies. I have two pitties with some food sensitivities so it was important I was getting something that worked for them (they loved them!). I will definitely be back and love supporting a local shop like Puppernickel.

I love going to Puppernickel Barkery! The staff and the owner Krystal are so kind! And help you with what ever you need. I’ve bought Pupcakes for my dogs birthday and they absolutely loved them! They were made with all good ingredients and decorated & packaged so cute! And the doggie dresses are SO ADORABLE! ???? They have everything you need for your pets! And there’s even stuff for humans! When you buy from Puppernickel you aren’t only supporting them you are supporting many other local artisans from Oregon. It’s such a clean, loving and fun environment to be around and bring your pet! Puppernickel is a gem in downtown Hillsboro! Not only do they carry amazing products, their staff is so helpful and friendly. I love to come here to pick up gifts for my pet owner friends. I also love how the owner, Krystal, is so supportive of other local businesses and hosts events throughout the year to bring the community together.

I've been SO sad and stressed watching my 14yr old rottie-lab mix Lexi struggle for the last couple of months. Hip pain, bad eyes, liver disease & anxiety through the roof had us all reeling. The staff at Puppernickel was wonderful, they patiently listened to my plea for help. Everyone was so kind and extremely knowledgeable. I brought home several items and couldn't be happier. This shop is a must visit! They have all you could ever want or need to take care of your pet. It is the cutest place to visit and they have an amazing, warm & welcoming staff. I’ve been coming here since it first opened and recommend it to all!

Puppernickel is my dog Lennon’s favorite place in town . He knows the way and insists that we stop by if we are walking in the area . Krystal is also one of his favorite people who always gets a big wagging greeting. Lennon loves the cookies and cakes baked with love and also the pupsicles, training treats and fun toys . He always looks handsome in one of their bandannas too. Puppernickel has also become our favorite place to buy scented candles and we’ve met so many great vendors at pop up events . Krystal is always friendly , professional and patient when answering all my new dog mom questions . If you have a pet or not , I recommend a visit to Puppernickel if anyone visits downtown Hillsboro.

I have been going to Puppernickel for the past 3 years. Every time I go in BOTH myself and my dog get excited to see the delicious display of baked doggie treats. I have also purchased a few amazing hand crafted candles, a water-proof dog vest, and my most recent purchase, a dog food puzzle. Miss Krystal is the real deal! She cares for her customers, keeps brining in new inventory and is a sweet soul. Treat yourself and your dog!

Puppernickel has been my favorite pet store since I Bella and I first walked in the door! Krystal is just the sweetest shop owner you could ever meet and always makes us feel so welcomed. Her pup cakes are THEE cutest and my dogs absolutely love them! We also have gotten our cat food, dog bandanas, birthday accessories, candles, dog stickers, you name it! Whenever I hear of a dogs birthday they are the first place I tell people about! Love love love them!
