My dog has been having seizures for over a year and the last week she’s had 14 of them. 9 in one day. I was hoping to get her out down and end the pain. They called me a liar to my face, yelled at me, and said my dog is perfectly fine. All they need is hundreds of dollars for test so I can dope up my dog. The last thing she needs is to be high. She’s almost 12 and is suffering. These people are greedy and only want your money.

Tonja was awesome. I actually didn't use their services (had an appointment scheduled elsewhere but was looking for earlier availabilities) but the advice and comfort she provided, even knowing I wouldn't be a customer, is well worth a Google Review. And I said I would. Thanks, Tonja!

I'm not usually this person, but I need you all to know to not take your beloved pets to Dr. Amanda Bugarovich (or anyone, for that matter) at VCA Westmoreland Animal Hospital. We had our worst veterinary experience in Eugene there this week. Our old beagle had an incident on Tuesday that left her with a knocked out tooth and an unknown/mystery injury on her lower back. She wouldn't let us near it, but we noticed a crusty patch of hair, which we assumed was blood. We brought her in to VCA and made sure to explain the incident and mention what we thought was blood on her back. They assured us they did a thorough exam and that it was probably nothing more than a bruised back. We brought it up *three* different times. Twice when we brought her in, once the following morning during the follow up call. They sent us home with some anti-inflammatory meds for her back pain and an estimate for dental work (the original purpose for the visit). We took her home on Wednesday and gave her the meds, but she still seemed incredibly uncomfortable. Nothing helped and she was still breathing heavily, restless. Thursday morning when she woke up her bed/pillows/blanket were covered in blood. We mentioned this to the Dr on the phone, she shrugged it off again and told us that it was likely coming from her mouth. Throughout the day we noticed drops of blood all over the house, on the rugs, the hardwood floors, her bed. And she was visibly very uncomfortable. By Thursday evening the blood was still flowing and we noticed that it was coming from....her lower back. We called the vet again and the receptionist told us that the dr was gone for the day and to wait until the next morning for a phone call. I lasted about 20 minutes but couldn't stand seeing her cry in pain while bleeding, so I called the vet back. Demanded to speak to the Dr who sent her home to bleed in pain for another full day. I was met with so much resistance, zero sympathy or apologies and no effort was made to try to soothe us. Admittedly, I became less cordial as time passed, but my dog had her head on my leg, crying, while I was being told to calm down. The woman on the phone kept saying "it just isn't going to happen. you will just have to wait". Still no mention of the actual dog that was dripping blood all over the house. No empathy for the dog. No empathy for the worried owners. One trip to the emergency vet, 3 hours and another bill later, we learned that she had an abscess on her back that burst when she fell. On Tuesday. She had been bleeding for three days by the time we found it. Thank god that the emergency vet. If we hadn't had this service she would have waited another full day and maybe been seen by a competent vet. After another call to VCA today, during which they learned the actual cause of her pain and bleeding, and we have still received no apology, no attempt to remedy the obvious oversight and negligent care and zero accountability from anyone in the office. They refused to refund us the cost of the office visit, despite having done very little to actually find the source of our dogs pain. Such a horrible experience. They invited us to remain their customers and said that they are still willing to do her dental work, but there is no world in which I am leaving my defenseless elderly dog in their care. They have proven that we can't trust them to do what's best for the dog, and that they don't listen to owners' very valid concerns. The obvious oversight in appropriate care is upsetting in and of itself, to double down on such poor customer service is not redeemable. Never again. Thank god for Springfield Emergency Vet Clinic. They have been thorough and patient and even called us back within hours when we called with questions. The best part is, the bill from the emergency vet was actually cheaper than her primary doctor, who didn't even solve any problems.

I would recommend to find a better more responsive business for your pets. My dog was bitten and I tried to call into their urgent care on Saturday. I was told that it was to late in the day to make appointments and I need to call back 1 minute after they open the next day and they should be able to get me in quickly. Instead of making other plans, I trusted this advice. The next day I called exactly when instructed too. I was told that the doctor was out for another hour and they were unable to set an appointment for me. It is difficult for me to understand why the people answering the phone cannot make appointments. I was left with a response of "we will call you back in an hour for sure". After waiting an hour I called a more competent veterinary office and they were friendly and quickly got me a next day appointment for half the cost I was quoted at Westmoreland. Morel of the story is if you need something done urgently, don't waste your time with Westmoreland. Take your animal somewhere that cares. I should add that my call into Westmoreland was never returned, even after over 24 hrs.

I have nothing but absolute positive things overall to say about the entire staff at VCA. They have shown me complete compassion in their commitment to giving total care to my fur babies. I have worked with them with the care from my puppy thru end of life now with my second elderly dog. They gave support not just to my dogs, but they were there supporting me as well. I will continue to use them, and recommend them, to anyone seeking vet services.

Dishonest, pushy and always trying to up-sell. During my first encounter with VCA Westmoreland Animal Hospital they were pushy and tried to convince me that my dog had fleas in order to sell me flea medicine. She is short haired and sleeps on my bed, and definitely has no fleas, then or now. I sometimes mention to healthcare workers that I am a nurse, so they might feel freer to use medical terms and describe things in greater complexity. In this case it resulted in the staff becoming very defensive. That is not a good sign. After waiting a week for my appointment, today I came in to get a basic lab test run (I just needed a clear poop sample to sign my pup up for doggie day care) and they lied to my face and insisted that it was a legal requirement for them to do a full examination of my dog in order to run her fecal sample through the lab. The needless exam would triple the bill. Frustrated with the constant up-selling I took her down the road to the competition, and despite being a walk up with no history at the clinic I was seen immediately and found that there is no such legal requirement with lab tests. The competing animal hospital was quick, friendly and helpful and they will definitely be getting my business from now on.

I think it should be noted right away that you cannot go in with your pets to appointments at this time (Feb 2021) I was surprised to be told this the day before my appointment and surprised that none of the reviews mentioned this! With that being said the staff and DRS at VCA were very supportive and patient with me and my 17 year old cat. I felt like my needs were honored even though I couldn't be there myself. Dr Kennedy answered all my questions and was very empathetic. My ONLY complaint is that I found out AFTER my appointment that there is a coupon for $25 exam for new clients on their website, and I pay the full price of $86. I think they should promote that more and offer to new clients over phone because going to the Vet is already expensive enough and we could all use a coupon.

Their quality of care matches their pricing. Specifically, Dr. Amber Alu is incredibly patient, persistent, and a huge pleasure to work with.

I have a hard time finding a place that can take care of my cats and large great Pyrenees, but so far every experience with VCA has been good. My dogs are rescues and tend to be skittish especially now with everyone in masks but they have been very understanding with my fur babies.

The staff here are absolutely wonderful! They are always so friendly and sweet when I bring my dog in and are very considerate and helpful over the phone when I've called with concerns. The prices are a bit high but you absolutely get what you pay for. I have been bringing my dog here since she was a puppy 3 years ago and have always felt that she is receiving the best possible care.

I normally don't write reviews for anything but this place really impressed me. We've taken our pup to many different vets around Eugene but a lot of the time she gets treated differently for being a pittie. We have never had so much love and understanding from any other place. I actually felt like I could trust the workers without a doubt and we could tell that she did too. ♡

We chose westmoreland animal hospital due to their hours and availability. We lived across town, but has been well worth it. Dr Kennedy is our vet and she has been great, informative and always helpful, her assistant has been wonderful as well. We had dr Sullivan perform surgery on our 11 month old puppy after he ate a part of a dog toy. I was told by everyone I came in contact with about how wonderful of a surgeon dr Sullivan is and I was not disappointed. My pup is now making a full recovery and we look forward to continuing care with westmoreland animal hospital! Thank you all for all your help!

The doc is great. Rates are high, but quality service from the doc, so you pay for what you get. That said, in this COVID era, I do wish they'd provide after care recommendations/guidance/instructions in a written format. Depending on which nurse/assistant that you talk to, there seems to be a good size gap on what you may be told

I don't like the fact I can't go back with my dog that is always really nervous. The staff said he was doing ok. The doctor was great calling me while I waited in my car.

They were able to make an appointment for our kitten when she was sick when no one else was able to. Everyone I have talked to has been amazing, so caring and understanding. In crazy uncertain times during a pandemic, it's amazing to know your pet will get the best of care here. Dr. Sullivan is an amazing vet who takes the time to make sure every question you have is answered.
