My wife and I have been bringing our miniature dachshund Daisy here since her first check-up. Every time we pull up to the office, her whole body wags with excitement. The staff is always kind and professional, and the prices are always fair.

I called to get my sick dog in and despite him being established in their clinic, I was told to “call another clinic if he needs to be seen today” as they were booked. This has happened the last three times I have called to schedule him. Very poor customer service.

We love these people. They are compassionate and flexible, take great care of our dogs, worked in a dog that was visiting us and needed surgery to fix a laceration even though their day was already full. They are amazing.

I am so sick of everyone nickel and diming me. I scheduled and appointment for just a Rabies booster for my dog. It should have been ~$30. After being seated in an exam room the Tech said the Dr. would do an exam too. I said no, he just had an exam 6 month ago, just the vaccine please. That's not how they do it and had to charge me an additional $67 on top of the vaccine. $67 for less than 5 minutes of the Dr.'s & the Tech's time. Not cool. I want to do what I know I should for my dog but Vet Offices make it so hard. Now I don't want to go back when I know they are going to charge me for unnecessary things.

Dr. Amy is a fantastic/professional Veterinarian. She’s always taken great care of our pet, and gives us all of the information we might need while answering any questions we might have. I would definitely recommend Santa Clara Animal Hospital to anyone looking for a new Veterinarian.

I especially would like to thank Dr. Brian and all the staff for the caring way they treated (and are still treating) my poor little Petey. He was crying with a belly ache (gastro enteritis, they say). They gave him such good care, and sent me home with easy to digest food, pain meds, pro biotic additive, then Dr. Brian called just a few minutes ago to find out how he is doing. I could not ask for better care for Petey.

It was an uncomplicated annual visit for Mali, a mature young healthy Mini Aussie. She was anxious and wanted to leave. Aide gave her part of a milkbone treat, which she rejected. She was uncomfortable at turning her back on the assistant to have her temperature taken, so the aide didn't push it. When Dr Brian entered, he sat down near her, talked kindly to her, began feeling her. Gave her a vaccine injection without her noticing it. He examined her, found her to be about 4 lbs overweight but otherwise healthy, then answered a few questions I had. My only suggestion for improvement is higher quality treats.

Dr. Brian was very helpful and thorough in helping our pet ferrets. It's so nice to know that there are Doctors (both him and Dr. Amy) that know about treating our beloved pet ferrets. It's reassuring to know they are there to help us keep our furry family in their best health. Their knowledge, expertise and kind-hearted manner are definitely worth the trip for us.

I am impressed with the options to make appointments online or call, to have curbside or personal (masked), and get a call personally from the Dr.

My dog is very timid when it comes to going to the vet. The Santa Clara Animal Hospital is very kind and gentle with her. They're also patient and don't rush her.

Because of the pandemic, I had to stay outside. But other than that, it was good.

Extremely rude staff. Not caring about the animals only about the wallet. Would never go back.

I rushed in there in the middle of the night because I thought my pug was having an allergic reaction to his antibiotics. Upon arrival they rushed him right in checked him over and within a few minutes had called me to tell me that he was not having an allergic reaction, that the pill had simply started dissolving in the back of his throat and that certain antibiotic that he was given gets really foamy and fizzy. So the fact that it was dissolving in his throat was making him gasp and complicating his breathing. I think them all so much for taking the time to check him over and reassuring me that he was okay.

They are always friendly, customer service oriented, while focusing on the health and wellness of your animal! Julia is great. We have a new puppy again and when I called to verify something about his first appointment she spent extra time talking to me on the phone and making sure all our needs had been met in the past and to make me aware she is always there in the future. Even during COVID when they have been doing curbside drop off and pick up with the pets, as our new puppy Moose is our second one to go thru this, the vet makes sure to call you on the phone and go over the exam s/he makes sure to answers any and all questions you may have as well. There is still the same excellent service even when you are not in the building with your loved pet, and the techs who come out to get your animal from you pick up on their personality very quickly and work well with it even if they are a little anxious to go with them they are very friendly and encouraging. Could not ask for a better place to call our animal doctor!!!!

We've been coming to Santa Clara Animal Hospital for years (50+, when Dan Kemp owned it, and then the "new" owners) are such an awesome fit, for all of the reasons above. Plus they are close in our neighborhood and very caring. Everyone from the receptionist to the vet techs to the Dr.s is respectful and knowledgeable.

Dr. Cary has been our family vet for about 15 years. We trust her and have experienced compassionate care and excellent support. Through mishaps and surgeries of our fur family, she's been outstanding ❤

I was able to be seen during a cancelation and my pup was treated so kindly and the doctor's tone was warm and professional and never condescending. It was a great experience, and has been the last 3 times as well. All the other staff that helps with the appt. are wonderful, too.

New Update: August 2021 I feel as though finding a new vet is my only option. The initial visit price is up. Medication prices are insane. For a food allergy my boy was ordered pain pills, antibiotics and allergy meds. This visit cost 267.00. I wasn't informed on a infection so why antibiotics. Then the pain pills... For what I'm not sure. Like I said in my last review. WOULD BE NICE IF THESE VETS TOOK THESE POSITIONS AS SOMEONE THAT LOVES ANIMALS. NOT AS A FINANCIAL GAIN. I love my dogs like my children and will do anything for them. To bad we get taken advantage of in a critical time. Dated: June-ish 2021 I have been going here since before the owners got married. The staff is ALWAYS friendly and positive. I will admit the prices have gotten a little bit on the high side. But as we all know times change and expenses have to change with the time. They are still very reasonable in comparison. I know that it's all about the money in business. It would just be nice if vets cared a little more about the animal and not the dollar sign. Not dating that's how Santa Clara is. As they are not that type of vet. That's just a peeve of mine.

I came rushing in with a dog emergency. Even though we aren’t clients there, they took my dog and were fantastic with communicating and their responsiveness. They will be a great vet to establish if you are looking for compassion and skills.

BEWARE!! I DO NOT recommend this place to anyone who loves animals. I was recommended this clinic by a friend who has taken her pet there to be seen by one of the Vet doctors. My bunnies had an accidental litter after we evacuated our home due to the Almeda fire before their appointment to get fixed. I posted an ad on several facebook groups looking for a loving home for them and in my ad I explained I was looking for a home without small children and someone who lived in a house they owned not apartments due to stories I have heard about pets who were abandoned in apartments by their owners who moved— Someone who really loved animals as part of their family and was able to have them as free roam indoor bunny. I also told them I would pay to euthanize them before giving them to people who would make them suffer in the heat/cold outdoors or feed them to snakes. Two of their receptionists said they would like to have them and would give them a forever home. I told them I understand things change sometimes and if for some reason they couldn’t keep them I was willing to drive back to Eugene and take them back, I wanted to make sure they will not suffer in a small cage or end up with people who would release them in the woods if they got tired of them. These bunnies are a lot of work and very expensive to take care of. Erika said they promised to call me back if couldn’t keep them and they would update me how they did. Alicia and Erika D., these receptionists have deceived and lied to me. They had said they were able to take in 4 girls from my bunnies accidental litter. They had ensured me that they would keep my girls free roam and offer them a happy home-- they also said that they had spoke to their bosses Vet Doctors at SCAH (whom they work for) and that they had promised to get the bunnies spayed. I drove 3 hours to Eugene from Ashland, OR to take my girls to their new home, hoping they would be happy as I was promised they would be. I met up with Erika D outside SCAH and had explained how to care for the bunnies, and gave her 3 new, unopened bags of food for the bunnies. I also told her that 3 of the 4 bunnies were from the same litter, and that the oldest, Peanut, was not born with them so they were not bonded and to keep them separated. I sent her pictures of each bunny to make sure they knew which ones to keep together. Erika D. said that she would take two of the bunnies and her coworker would take the oldest and one of the others and keep them separated. Erika ‘s boyfriend mentioned they lived in an apartment. When I had called and spoke to her coworker, Alicia never said they lived in Apartments when I specifically told her that many people local to me wanted the bunnies but unfortunately they lived in apartments and that is why I kept them until I could find homes or find a vet who would euthanize them. Anyway, I let it slide, hoping that a receptionist that worked at a vet clinic had to love animals and be reliable, but I have never been more wrong about someone. Long story short, I was lied to and we believe the bunnies were offered for sale. Also Erika ignored all my requests and instructions on how to take care of the bunnies, she did not follow through with our agreement. Once we got back home and I texted her asking how they were doing Erika’s attitude changed and was a completely different person. She accused me of harassing her just because I asked her if she could send me a picture of their setup. She had placed two bunnies in a cage with NO hay and a small water bottle, when I had explicitly told her that they drank from a water bowl and needed hay access 24/7. The other two bunnies that supposedly her coworker had taken, were NOT even given to her coworker.

A BIG THANK YOU to the staffer I spoke to on the phone this week, when I was totally panicked because my dogs, which of course mean the world to me, had gotten into and drank from a blue/green algae bloom. Even though I told you that I had never visited your clinic, you still spent over five minutes with me on the phone sharing your clinic's experience with this, advising me on what to watch for and when to go to the emergency clinic. I was and am so grateful to you that I still get tears over it. (This followed my call to another clinic that I had established care with, only to be turned away with zero advice or support because "our system is down".) I hope that once your clinic is back to accepting new patients, that we can establish care with you. In the meantime I wish you your colleagues all the best.

My cat and I were both welcomed and all staff were friendly and professional. Dr. Brian explained my cat's annual exam results and treatments clearly. This was my cat's second annual checkup there. Very pleased and highly recommend!
