Birch Street Animal Clinic Canby, Oregon

i brought my ailing dog 8 yr old lab mix in for a mercy call. He was losing his ability to walk and control his bowels. I was distraught and did not want my dog to suffer any more so I rushed him to the clinic. The vet would not put him down but instead gave me a bunch of pain pills to "give him more time" and sent me back home with my suffering pet with the advise to use a towel around his hips to hold him up when he goes out to potty. The pain pills did nothing for my dog. After many hours of suffering, my poor pet died at 2am, less than 24 hours of leaving the clinic. Shame on me for trusting a professional to think they know better what was the best thing for me and my pet. I left a voice message at 2am letting them know that Sunny had passed. I did not receive a phone call back, or any communication from this clinic that Sunny has gone to since he was 6 months old. Not an "I'm sorry" not one condolence for the loss of one of their customers. Sunny died at 2am January 4th. I still blame myself and beat myself up for having not taken him somewhere else for the mercy call. The suffering we both endured was unbearable.

Emily is always so great with getting my animals in and even following up days after to check on fur babies to make sure they are doing well. Dr. Jarret and Dr. Dax are always thorough and really explain everything going on. Very appreciative of everyone at birch street.

The most caring and compassionate veterinary clinic in the area. My kitten Charli went into get spayed,chipped and vaccinated, total bill was $283, was quoted between $500-700 at other vets offices in the area for the same services..???? I won’t go ANYWHERE else! They were short handed that day, but you honestly wouldn’t have known!

This clinic is unsurpassed. Easily the best clinic in town. The staff are attentive and they really care about the animals they treat. Dr. Dax was awesome with my dog and his head tech, Ben has a charm with the animals. Highly recommended if you want your animal to have the best quality care.

Staff is always friendly, prompt and makes me feel like I am their only client and my dog is their favorite. The vets are top quality, professional yet personable, very through with their exams, and spend time to explain everything. Several time they have discussed less expensive treatment, careful to explain the pros and cons of both options. I appreciate their mindfulness of the cost of vet care and how try to keep the costs down if possible. One time Dr. Dax saved me over a thousand dollars by doing this and my dog had a full and uncomplicated recovery. I know my dog gets the best and most up to date care.

Fantastic folks, we ended up having 2 dogs 14 &12 passing and they were terrific. Also Thanks go out to the people of Canby in helping us afford the passing of our Cooper. Still missing Zoe and Cooper.

I was referred to birch street by a friend and it has been the best thing to happen! My dog had his back go out and I went somewhere else first, they didn't listen and recommended crate training. I left thr office with paperwork on that, meanwhile my dog was already trained and I mentioned it had they taken the time to listen. By the time I found birch my baby was practically paralyzed, but Dr. Dax never gave up! He always found time to counsel me. I was out of my mind! What do you do in this switch? At the end of the day he gave me the best advice and a very proactive treatment plan for my dog and 4 years later he's still kickin ???? hands down my most favorite clinic!!! I am so grateful my friends had such an amazing experience that I found this clinic! Dr Dax saved my dog and me ❤

Birch street has always taken good care of my doggies. They are super friendly and treat my dogs as if they are part of the birch street family. Birch street is the only vet I will take my dogs and 100% recommend them to anyone.

Up until today I would’ve recommended Birch Street, not now. I took my cats in for follow up after surgery and for 2 booster shots. They took it upon themselves to give my cats 3 shots and try to charge me. Absolutely not ok to give a vaccine without permission from the owner. My discharge paperwork from surgery said nothing about the 3rd vaccine. They threatened me with collections if I didn’t pay it. Then turned around and said they would write the amount off and email me a receipt. Almost the end of the business day and still no email. Called back and their story changed. Now they say they have to have the office manager approve the write off and they will call me Monday. Funny how earlier you said you would have Dak (owner) call me. Worst customer service ever!

Friendly staff and engaged Vets. But unfortunately they have no clue what they are doing. And due to their disorganization and complete lack of accountability I would not recommend this establishment. Over the course of the last year they have accumulated to the single worst vet experience I have ever had.

Super great people who always goes out of their way to make you feel that you and your pet/s are their number one priority. Honestly cannot say enough about how happy we are the we found this vet and all the awesome people that work there!

Great service and they really care about your pets. Prices are reasonable and they give you all your options if your pet has a medical issue. I won't take my pets anywhere else.

Very caring and professional office. I really like our dogs vet. Treats me with respect for my knowledge with dogs. Doesn't act like I know nothing. Which I truly appreciate since I grew up in a family of raising dogs. They take excellent care and even after our dog had to go to ER, they followed up the next day. Highly recommend them. Staff is wonderful too ????

Very prompt about getting us in from nail trimming to emergencies they always make you feel like your pet is a priority.
