Expensive, they also don’t let you go in with your animal “due to covid”. Prepare for them to be caged for hours for a normal appointment. They forgot my appointment time as well.

Compassionate care and a great value. Dr. Church saved our dog Chewy's life and is an excellent surgeon. She has a staff that is friendly and kind, another way her practice excels. We and our pets are fortunate to have her in the Rogue Valley. She truly loves animals and gives them skilled care that is above and beyond. Thank you for all you have done to help Chewy. We are grateful!

Wow! What an amazing place. Not only is every person extremely kind and helpful but the care here is amazing as well. I have never experienced such great care at a vets office and love that they even call to check in after the appointment to see how your animal is doing.

The kindest and most communicative team! Our doggo loves coming in for her appointments, and they take such great care of her. They’re also very good at providing “worst case” financial estimates in advance so you can prepare.

We love all of the Bear Creek staff! When our almost 12 year old fur babe lost massive amounts of blood, almost to the point of requiring a transfusion, we had no choice but to take her to the emergency vet since it was a Sunday. After over $1200 and a hellish experience with their (should we even call it) "customer service," the culprit was a lingual artery laceration that the emergency vet did not feel was caused by a recently broken tooth so they didn't shave it down. Naturally, the tooth reopened part of the injury site and our normal vet was closed due to COVID hours so Dr. Church and her staff to the rescue! After filing down the tooth to avoid further injury, Dr. Church ended up recommending an extraction of the offending tooth since it was just going to continue to snag the healing site and wouldn't allow it to fully heal properly. This wasn't a risk we were going to take, this is our baby we are talking about! Dr. Church's knowledge is vast and she has no problem seeking second opinions from other specialists in her veterinary network because your babies are her babies and she takes that responsibility very seriously! Listen, I have read the reviews and I agree, veterinary care isn't cheap, that's why we have pet insurance on our canine kid, for times like this! The older they get, the more likely they are to need extra care. And I also agree that not every pet, like humans, are going to react to the standard practice of suggested care (or food!), that's why it is on us as the pet parents to make those calls on their behalf! In any event, always do your homework - for veterinarians, for human doctors, for what you are putting in the bodies of you and your loves ones (regardless of how many legs they may or may not have). One thing I can tell you without a doubt is that Dr. Church and her staff are right there with you, worrying about your pet(s) and wanting to dig until they find out what the issue may be (if there is one!). If she needs to "phone a friend," she will because it takes a village sometimes!

Bear Creek Animal Clinic has been so wonderful to me and my cat Sylvester. I have been going to them for 8 yrs. and they have done so much for his dental problems. He has tooth resorption and it's a painful chronic condition that has needed a lot of attention. Each time they care for him they treat him like he is their own. The staff at Bear Creek have been very professional, compassionate, and empathetic. I highly recommend them to care for your pet. I'm very grateful for everything they have done for Sylvester aka Kitty Guy :)

I just wanted to give a big thank you to the wonderful doctors and team at Bear Creek! With last week's tragedy they have been excellent at caring for their patients and also patients from animal clinics that could not been seen. Thank you for all that you do!

They really care, even sent a personalized card of condolences signed by the staff for my son and I after our pointer, Jim, passed. They are wonderful professional people with heart and caring souls. Thank you.

Absolutely grateful for the team at Bear Creek animal clinic. They were able to help me at the last minute and squeeze me in to do one final appointment/visit for my pet before heading to Hawai’i. I explained to them the situation since my old vet was in Phoenix, OR and would not be accessible due to the Almeda fire damage. I’m thankful for their assistance and would recommend them as a vet if you’re in Ashland or the greater community.

EXTREMELY PRICY! if you need your animal to be seen any time sooner than 3 weeks to a month, it’s an additional 100$ on top of the price of whatever you need done. I guess if you have money to spend and only need vaccines/ antibiotics for something minor this place is perfectly fine though.

Bear Creek Animal Clinic has provided outstanding care for my service dog since I first brought her in 4 years ago with a persistent ear infection no other clinic had been able to identify or treat successfully. They stay current with latest medical practices, and have specialists to use when needed. They are particularly good with dental care and gingivitis . They are by far the best Vets and assisting staff I have ever had for my dogs over the past 50 years. Charges are reasonable too.

I have been going to Bear Creek for 4 year now and have always had very good experiences there...and with the amount of animals I have, I have been there a lot!:-) I read the lady's post about her dog that died, according to her, because they were too booked up to give her an appt. She then called back later because he was worse. I am not sure why she did not call or take him to the emergency clinic in Medford if he was so bad. Bear Creek is not an Emergency clinic. They are just a small clinic with one vet and I can understand if they could not fit her in. Her next step should have been SOVSC, the emergency clinic in Medford. My big issue here is why Ashland does not have an emergency or urgent care clinic! Even if it is just after hours and weekends!!

As a pet owner I take my pets care very seriously. Over the years I have always come to Bear Creek, but last year I found it more convenient to have Saturday appointments (I work crazy full time) so I switched to another (nameless) vet. This past week my cat developed an issue that needed care asap, so I went to that other vet, who was rough with my cat, had no bedside manner, and basically leapt to worst case scenario. I was so distraught that I went home and cried, and then dried my tears and called Bear Creek. I got Veronica on the line, who got me through to Victoria (who we love love love) and she calmed me, and made an appointment with Dr. Alice for my cat that next afternoon (and they were willing to stay late to help us). I took him in, and they treated him, and it turned out to be the least bad thing that was on my mind. A simple abscess. They treated both my cat and me with true kindness and tenderness and I left feeling so much less stressed out and my cat is now on the mend. Thank you, Bear Creek! We will be back! <3

Probably the vet there is fine, but I will never know since the staff first refused to give me an urgent appointment, and then again refused me an emergency appointment for my sweet Bodhi, and he died before I could find another place that would take him. After having spent hundreds of dollars establishing care for all my animals there, I thought I would be able to get him in. I was put off, told nothing was available, etc. Finally, I called and told them his condition was worsening and begged them for something, telling them he was coughing and he had a rapid heartbeat (for the second or third time). The woman at the front desk finally told me about a thing they have called emergency appointments. I told her I would talk to my husband (to see if we should try to make it to Central Point), and asked if I should just bring him if he was on board. She said yes. We decided quickly that he needed to go as his coughing was worsening. When I got there, she said, oh, you were supposed to call, after making me stand there and wait forever while she stapled paperwork and took her time. They had given my emergency appointment away! Or so she said. She just smiled and looked blankly at me. I rushed him home, and that's when Bodhi collapsed. My husband bailed on a presentation he was in the middle of giving and we rushed Bodhi in desperation to A Street Clinic, knowing nothing about them, and he had stopped breathing, so there was no time to make it to Central Point. The vet himself ran out after the staff member went and got him and they tried to revive him, but it was too late. We were treated very differently by the staff there, and moved all of our animals over to this new clinic. When we called to let Bear Creek know, my husband was of course, angry, when he demanded the records be moved. I heard the same staff member laugh and say, "okay!". After a week's time, we've not received a word of apology, regret, or even acknowledgement from the vet or any of the staff there. I imagine the staff didn't bother to tell her their part in this to the vet. Anyway, she needs to hire people who care about animals, and we will never go back. They just didn't seem to care enough to let me know what options there may have been--nothing--and shouldn't they have consulted with the vet about his symptoms? i don't know if they have any idea how traumatizing that day was for us. I have to say, it ranks right up there with worst days of my life. Nothing will bring my Bodhi back, and maybe he wouldn't have made it anyway, given that he had an underlying undiagnosed heart condition, but the added trauma of how it was handled has added a level of misery to the loss that is hard to describe. He was a friend to me through so many things. He was only seven years old. He deserved so much better than this. Also, oddly enough, the records they sent over to A Street had no notes in them. They had off-handedly mentioned he had a heart murmur when I had him in 5 months ago, and handed me an information sheet about it, not recommending further tests, but that wasn't even mentioned in their notes. I am so very heartbroken, and before anyone else goes through something like this, need to put this out there.

Highly recommended! The staff at BCAC are caring and professional. They take the time to explain the course of treatment and make sure all my questions are answered. Plus, they love animals and it shows! I will alway be grateful for the way Victoria and Alice gently eased the last hours and minutes of our cat, Beanie. They treated me like family when I needed a shoulder to cry on. This is an awesome vet clinic.

Knowledgable but the vet didn't listen. She wanted us to spend money on testing which was obviously not needed as our pet had no symptoms that necessitated the testing. Very displeased.

My experience proved the doctors here to be fantastic - but I wish I could say the same for the front desk staff. I'm not a huge fan of scheduling an appointment, and then being demanded to do other treatments/vaccinations done as well, that I intentionally didn't schedule an appointment for. The check-in was almost 20 minutes, mostly because they were wanting us to do 2-3 other tests that we weren't planning on doing that day. They assumed my girlfriend and I couldn't afford certain tests, but that's not something we said - we said we were looking into getting some type of pet insurance or membership service first before doing other procedures. I personally felt the front desk staff were a little condescending, but maybe it was just an off day. The doctor we had was definitely okay though, so maybe if you aren't a newbie to vets... then give this place a try for the decent prices and amazing doctors. If you're a first time pet owner (like me), maybe go somewhere with a little more "user friendly" front desk.

Amazing amazing people. They were very personable with the animals and try to get to know them. We have 2 ferrets they worked with us to figure out different solutions for their dietary problems.

They are also extremely respectful of the owner and they explain what has been done during each visit. The veterinarians and staff at Bear Creek are some of the most excellent I've come across and I completely trust them with my dogs. They have my dogs' seal of approval as well; both of them are happy and eager to go to the vet and don't even mind when I have to leave them there.

Just moved to Ashland and had to take my dog in right away…his eye had been bothering him for four days and the Bear Creek team were able to see us right away! The front desk service was excellent and the Veterinarian, although experiencing a very busy Monday, took her time to explain the dog's condition and answered all of my questions. Happy to have landed in Ashland and happy to have BCAC for my puppy!
