Dr. Johnson and her staff are delightful! They are the perfect balance of professional, compassionate, and humorous. :) If you want good care given with a big heart and smile on everyone’s face, you should give them a try. Dr. Johnson has gone above and beyond for our fur babies, and we are so grateful. We love Hammond Animal!

A couple years ago, Dr. Johnson confidently misdiagnosed my dog's large leg tumor as a lipoma and told me it didn't need to be removed. When I later requested surgery to remove it anyways she told me it was actually impossible to remove and that he would likely be unable to walk or would need the entire leg removed if I pursued it. A year or two later my dog started coughing up blood and when I went to Dr. Johnson less then a day after it first happened, she confidently told me it was kennel cough (despite me insisting no dogs had been near my pup in over two months). She did not even do a full exam and sent him home with cough tabs and antibiotics. She seemed distracted by visitors in the back. Less then a week later he started severely hemorrhaging internally and spitting up even more blood. I went to a different vet who had to give him a blood transfusion and who located multiple oral tumors as the source of the internal bleeding. Despite the blood transfusion, chemo meds, and steroids, he continued to bleed out and we had to put him to sleep les then 48 hours later. The second vet and the vet who did our in-home euthanasia both said they could have removed his leg tumor with ease. They also seemed to believe the leg tumor was very potentially cancerous (swollen lymph nodes and size and hardness as indicators) and should have been removed. It very possibly was the source of my dogs oral tumors that killed him. Even if it was not, all of these items were missed by Dr. Johnson. I do not recommend Hammond Animal Hospital. While nice on the surface, they are overconfident, lack the apparent surgical skills of other vets, are not thorough and I regret trusting them with my now gone baby. It's hard to say but I could have maybe saved his life if I'd gotten a second opinion sooner. He was my sweet baby and I miss him desperately. **I did have a good surgery with Dr. Bone on a different baby for a toe tumor removal so this review does not apply to her, but she is not the primary vet at Hammond.

You will not find a better place for the care of your fur baby. The staff is professional, upfront, good communicators, compassionate, and kind. Dr. Johnson goes above and beyond to provide the best care possible. At no cost to me, Dr. Johnson came to my house, twice a day, during my holiday trip home, to care for my declining cat. She didn’t have to but she did because she cares deeply about pets and their people.

Dr. Johnson is a wonderful vet and the staff are always professional and welcoming. I had a scare when my ornery dog somehow got hold of an entire bottle of Rimadyl. He had to stay multiple days for treatment. Everything was explained thoroughly, and I got updates about his progress. My dogs have been to three other veterinarians as I’ve moved to two other states (still great doctors). However, Hammond remains our favorite hands down.

Dr. Johnson and her staff are top notch. Her passion to serve the rescue community is remarkable. They truly care about the animal and not a financial goal. ????????????????

I trust Hammond (and specifically Dr. Johnson) implicitly. They have gone above and beyond to help my dogs during health crises, as well as to be there for me during the loss of a beloved pet. They genuinely care--Dr. Johnson has done more than I could ever expect of a veterinarian on countless occasions. I wish I had a doctor as committed and accessible as she is. I'll never take my dogs anywhere else. HIGHLY recommend!

Hammond Animal Hospital is wonderful. Their staff is kind, professional, and caring. I have taken my pets to Dr. Johnson for twenty years. They were with me when my dogs ate mouse poison in the middle of the night, or during seizures, and even when we’ve had to euthanize our beloved furry friends. I am so grateful for their service and expertise. They deeply care about the animals and clients.

Staff is so amazingly wonderful! Explained everything, shows you the charges before hand. Pricing is no where near what I was afraid of. Super easy scheduling future appointments. Respected not only me but my pup too! 100/10 recommend!!

We switched vet clinics several years ago because we love Dr Johnson and her staff SO much. They are responsive, knowledgeable, and cared for our dog as if he were their own. From annual checks/visits to harder end-of-life decisions, this team is compassionate and collaborative. I could not ask for a better veterinarian for our family!

My dogs have been going to Hammond Animal Hospital for the last couple of years. We love Dr. Johnson. It’s evident that she loves not only our animals, but also her own. She is a great veterinarian and we trust our babies with her, which we would not do with just anyone. Hammond Animal Hospital is also very affordable and doesn’t try to suggest anything that your animals don’t need. We love Hammond!

Dr. Johnson and her staff go above and beyond to care for my two pets. They are a patient, friendly and funny group that clearly loves animals and what they do. They always follow up to see how my pets are doing after a procedure and I appreciate the reminders about annual shots and tests due to keep my furr babies safe.

My dog had been having issues that were unexplainable to me, I couldn’t figure out the source of her pain. I took her to another vet as I had just moved back to Tulsa and hadn’t taken my pets anywhere yet, all that was done was blood work no real physical exam. After $300 it was undetermined still as to what was causing her pain. They wanted to do more blood work. I decided to call Hammond to see if I could get her in to see Dr. Johnson. She was my dogs vet when she was a pup and I knew I should’ve just called there first. They got my dog in the very next day and Dr. Johnson diagnosed my dogs issue within 5 min. It was her back! She is an aging dachshund who may carry a little extra weight causing her back pain. Meds & diet prescribed and the girl hasn’t had any issues since! I believe I got her some preventatives and our total visit was around $100. The staff as well as Dr. Johnson took excellent care of my new pup for her very first shots all the way to her spay throughout Covid and as difficult as it was to hand over your pet I was always at ease knowing she was in good hands and would be cared for. 10/10 would recommend, I always do!
