I can’t thank the staff enough. They helped us through a difficult time with compassion. We never felt pressured to spend more money or further testing we couldn’t afford. They were so helpful!

Rushed my pet here tonight only to find that it is closed due to short staffing. I’m tired of the Covid excuse. Either have Doctors that care or don’t advertise as a 24hr emergency vet. No excuses. Hospital emergency rooms should never close!

2.5-3 stars. We took our pup to blue pearl because it was the only place that performed the orthopedic surgery we needed, so we didn’t really have a choice. The facility was SUPER clean and high end - 5 stars on cleanliness. The people that worked there were also super friendly and you can tell they really do love animals. The surgeon truly was informative and did his absolute best to save our pup’s leg, and unfortunately had to amputate it. The reason for the low review was for the pricing. I don’t mind paying an experienced surgeon for his time and efforts, but we paid almost 5k upfront for a surgery that wasn’t even performed - we paid basically the same for an amputation and then received only $200 as a refund. It felt like a slap in the face.

They knew my dogs leg wasn't broke but it didn't stop them from racking me up a bill. When they brought him back he wasn't even limping anymore but they still needed all these X-rays. I should have went to Neels like I always do

I have a $10,000 puppy. She is worth the world to me. But seriously, she is a $10,000 puppy...not because she is a pedigree with papers. We found each other when I accidentally went into animal control instead of Pets and People looking to adopt. She is a sweet, raggedy, floppy little mess that was initially full of worms, requiring about 1,000 in vet bills, and she eats everything, which lead to her FIRST surgery to have an indestructible toy removed from her stomach. A harrowing experience at an OKC Animal Hospital that wasn't BluePearl. The vets were good there, but the process was just so difficult. For instance, due to covid restrictions, I waited in my car with my suffering pup for 3 hours before a technician came outside and pushed her inside in her stroller, where they proceeded to leave her in the waiting room with nothing for pain and without me for 5 more hours. Finally a vet called me (I was in the parking lot), and told me that she was getting ready to see my pup, and that she was shaking and has saliva running out of her mouth from pain. I felt helpless, I couldn't go in and get her or see her. 2 more hours later, the vet called me back and came outside to tell me that my dog needed to have surgery to have something removed from her stomach. They kept her and did fluid therapy for 2 more days, when the risk of the toy passing into her intestines would have killed her. Finally, on the third day, at 4 pm, they did the surgery. I got to visit her the next day in the euthanasia room, and heard all of the noises of suffering dogs that she was hearing around the clock during her stay. I felt that she could have went home with me then, but they insisted on keeping her 1 more day in recovery, which brought our total time there to 5 hellacious days. Finally released ,the charge to take her home was 800 more than the initial quote. I vowed that she would never eat another toy. Don't get me wrong, I am thankful to the first hospital for saving her life, the skilled surgeon did a great job. Well, this weekend she got sick again. I waited until Monday to take her because neither of us ever want to go back to that first hospital. I thought she had an infection, but her vet said she had another blockage, and recommended a referral to the dreaded Animal hospital for possible surgery. With my husband nearly ringing my neck over the news, I asked (begged) if there was a different hospital. She suggested BluePearl. We agreed and took her there, contemplating on whether we should rob a bank on the way there. This hospital is night and day compared to the other one. They immediately took her back to critical care and spoke with both me and my husband about options, and they had her in and out of surgery within 3 hours. She is ok now and we are home 24 hours later. She had eaten one of my HUSBAND'S socks. The doctor was amazing, and the nurse technicians were awesome. My pup is fine now. I need to keep her from galloping and jumping for 14 days, and I need to never ever leave anything on my floor again that is goat-level edible. I am so thankful for BluePearl for saving her life. Also, they ended up refunding a significant amount of the initial quote. Both hospitals ended up charging about the same amount, but the experience at BluPearl was far and above the other. Thank you Dr. Lamb and to all the technicians!

The people were very nice and the doctor’s seemed knowledgeable and compassionate. We took our dog in there when she was very sick. They diagnosed her and said she would need emergency surgery if she was going to survive the day. Of course we wanted her to survive so I told them to go ahead with the surgery. The surgery itself was approximately $2500! Then the post surgery care was going to be around $5k! I was blown away. I called my vet and they said they could give her the post surgery care for $600. Ok, I know emergency rooms are more expensive, but almost 10x more? It’s ridiculous. Sadly, our sweet girl passed away before they could get her in to surgery. As I said, the people were very nice. My wife was a wreck that morning after our Penny died and they were very compassionate about it, that’s why I gave them that second star. However, I would NEVER recommend this place to anyone because of their ridiculous prices.

Blue Pearl went above and beyond for me and my family today. Our story isn't one with a happy ending, or a happy beginning for that matter. We came back from Christmas shopping to find one of our indoor cats not breathing, likely dead from anaphylactic shock after an encounter with a wasp that must have slipped past us when we left the house this morning, and as soon as we found her, unsure of how long she'd been gone or if anything could be done for her, we rushed to Blue Pearl to have her confirmed deceased. The CSRs were so kind when we called ahead, and told us to come on in as soon as we arrived, and that they'd be ready for our arrival and would have an exam room and a tech ready to confirm for us. She was DOA, and there was nothing that could be done. But the CSRs and techs we interacted with today were compassionate and professional, even when I know I was wailing my heart out, honestly embarrassingly so, from grief and I couldn't hold it together. They gave me and my partner time to grieve in the exam room, and were so good to my baby girl, even in death. They didn't judge me for my feelings, however sure I am that it must have been incredibly awkward for them. They just clearly and compassionately explained our options for cremation or taking her home with us, and I could not have asked for kinder folks to help me navigate the immediate grief of the untimely loss of my young cat. Many thanks to the wonderful folks at Blue Pearl. This was a terrible, traumatizing day for me and my family, but you guys did all you could to ease the pain and the hardship of the situation for us. I will always appreciate that kindness.

BEWARE. they are understaffed and will let you sit there for 30+ minutes (or longer, if you don’t go ask when you’ll be seen yourself) before telling you they can’t see you due to understaffing. at an emergency vet, every second counts and this is absolutely unacceptable. this was posted on facebook and was removed within 3 minutes. i’m happy i took a screenshot. the photo isn’t loading sometimes so the post says: “ I just wanted to give a recommendation to y'all, if there is ever an emergency, Neel Vet is where we will always go. Blue Pearl let us sit in the lobby with my in-laws dog in critical condition for 30 minutes to then not let us know, we asked, that they can't see her because of low staffing. Their sweet fur baby went to doggy heaven last night. I don't know if that 30 mins plus the drive time to Neel from Blue Pearl would have saved her life, we won't ever know, but to be *barely* be turned down from a 24/7 vet like that really hurt. “

This is not the first time we’ve been to Blue Pearl and I’m positive it won’t be the last. Every time we need to go we are met with knowledgeable and caring staff. They always take great care of our babies and us while we wait in fear. Sadie and Dr. Davis are the ones we encountered most and they were amazing!

I am very grateful for the team of surgeons that came in at midnight to save my dogs life. She was diagnosed with GDV at an emergency vet nearby and I was a wreck to say the least. I knew how serious bloat can be and I was expecting the worst. The staff was very compassionate and someone was even sitting by my dogs side petting her as she was given her IV. They were extremely good about explaining her diagnosis and going over the payment. The surgeon was amazing and kept me updated throughout the night and the next morning. I had no worries leaving her there that night because the staff already showed how much they truly care for your pets. The only suggestion I would have is for them to notify the surgery team sooner. I understand that they need payment first (and they were very tactful and kind about explaining the payment) but I would have paid as soon as I got there if that meant the surgeons got there quicker. Bloat can take a dogs life in the matter of hours so I was still stressed that she was going to go before they got there. Still, I am forever grateful for the staff and the team of surgeons that saved my best friends life. I would also like to add that my sister works at an animal clinic and when I told her my experience here she was amazed at how quick and effective they were. Apparently clinics everywhere are seeing a high rate of new patients and some emergency clinics are usually overbooked. I am very lucky to have gone to the right place at the right time.

Blue Pearl is the most amazing place. They took amazing care of our Rumble dog. The staff and doctors are the sweetest people and really understand that our pets are part of our family. Thank you so much Blue Pearl!

The entire staff was so warm and inviting. They did what they could to make me feel comfortable and reassured for each stage of my pups recovery. They always took time to answer my calls and even showed me where they would be keeping my boy while he was there. I was so upset initially at the thought of him staying over nights for observation but seeing that and knowing how kind the nurses and doctors were made me realize how good of hands he was in. Thank you BluePearl for nursing Ryder back!

Great and kind staff! The reason for the one star is for the 3hr wait time and high cost. The cost to clear a partial urinary obstruction was $3k itself and surgery was an additional $3k. The surgery cost was reasonable but the procedure was 3x the cost I had paid twice before. I was shocked and immediately contacted my referring veterinarian. I was able to get seen and pay a reasonable cost for the procedure. I recommend to go to your local veterinarian instead if possible.

VERY BAD experience. Will NEVER GO back. NO CUSTOMER SERVICE. Lack of communication amongst the staff. They tried not to stick with agreed upon plan. Cost estimates increased for no reason within 2 days time-Told due to cost increase. VERY UNPROFESSIONAL-When staff member Amanda (who works the front desk) made a mistake, instead of admitting her mistake, she chose to try to discredit customer to cover up her mistake. Vet automatically took Amanda's side without hearing customer side. Then Vet documented untruth in medical record which is a LEGAL DOCUMENT. I listened to my gut and got my dog out of there and I am so glad I did. As it turned out, my dog DID NOT NEED THE BLUE PEARL SUGGESTED PROCEDURES in the first place. GO TO NEEL ANIMAL HOSPITAL if you want good care and honest interactions. NEEL ANIMAL HOSPITAL puts caring for your pets health and best interests first before money. Unfortunately, it seems BLUE PEARL IS ALL ABOUT MONEY FIRST.It is so sad that you still can't own up and are saying nonexistent attempts were denied which is a flat out lie.

They didn’t even check other leg . Now she find thank god I took her to my vet instead of believing them. My dog name is under my husband name that why you guy couldn’t find me.

My little Rascal boy would probably still be alive if I had not let you talk me into putting him to sleep. After dwelling on it for a week I've come to believe that your doctor did not want to get out on a Sunday evening while it was raining. The price goes from $1,500 to 3,500 and then to $6,000. That's what you do when you don't want to do the job make it astronomically high so that you have no choice but to euthanize. I had $4,000 and could have had the rest the following day but that was not good enough

Nope! Spent thousands on surgery here and my dog was sent home with supplies for catheterization but no antibiotic. It’s extremely common for UTIs when catheters are in use. For dogs and for humans. That’s common knowledge I feel. I called and asked if they could provide an antibiotic for UTI or if I could bring a urine sample so they could test and was rejected. So much for caring for my animal. Hard pass on this place in the future. Blue Pearl you need to make this right.

We absolutely love them for emergencies. They are compassionate, kind and understanding. Their prices are much lower than any other emergency vet in town. We've used them on multiple occasions and we've always had wonderful experiences.

On 8-3-21 at about 9pm my female German shepherd named Piper was afflicted with gastric dilitation volvulus aka bloat. We were over 200 miles from home and 100 miles from BluePearl hospital. I called BPH to let them know we were on the way. When we arrived around 11pm the staff mobilized immediately to diagnose the problem and begin treatment. Over the next 2 days Piper and I were treated with amazing care. The outstanding professionalism and incredible compassion showed the dedication to excellence of every member of the BPH team. They saved Pipers life and left a permanent impression on me. I'm very grateful for Dr. Walker and the staff at BPH! Thank you for everything you did for us!! Sincerely, Jason Little and Piper

My Mom brought her cat in this morning. She was told there was a $150.00 emergency fee and it would be an additional $600.00 to stabilize the cat. The Tech took the cat to the back room to supposedly be examined by "the Doctor." The tech came out and told my Mom her cat was stable and emergent care wasn't needed. My Mom wasn't allowed to go back during the exam and so she asked to talk to the Doctor. The Tech told her it would be an additional office call fee to see the Doctor. Was there even a Doctor? Blue Pearl does not care about animals they care about fees.

We recently had to bring our dog Reagan here to determine why she was so lethargic and in generally in bad shape. Drs. Martinez and Rothenburg did a wonderful job determining the problem and explaining the details to us. The staff was all very friendly and helpful as well.

If you care about your pet, you will avoid this place at all costs. We took our dog here after she got ill. After multiple visits and thousands of dollars, they still could not give a diagnosis. They just wanted to continue to run more expensive tests. I took her to another vet and after an hour and a simple blood test, we discovered she was suffering from kidney failure and that there was nothing that could be done. Bluepearl either has a staff of veterinarians who are uneducated or else they knew what was wrong, but decided to torture my dog with unnecessary tests during her final days just to make more money. Either way, this clinic should be shut down. Even now they are still sending me bills despite the fact that they would not let me take my dog home until I had paid in full. I don't owe them anything but I still get bills in the mail. Please do not take your pet to them.

In an emergency I took my dog to Neel's and to be kind I will just say my experience there was far less than stellar. I had some medical questions about the pills prescribed but you cannot call and speak to anyone at Neel's, and they don't call back when you leave a message. In desperation, I was googling what to do when I saw someone talking about BluePearl. I called them and the kind voice at the other end was extremely helpful and caring. She helped me even though my dog was not a patient and it was 6am on a Saturday (9/4/21). She told me what may help and how much to try based on the dog's weight. I am so very grateful! God bless them, they have my business from now on.

Our Shih Tzu mix tore her ACL a few years ago, we took her to Blue Pearl to have the ACL surgery. After weeks of healing when our dog was finally ready to put weight on her leg and start to walk, she would take a step or two and stop. We noticed a sort of “clicking” sound coming from the leg when she tried to walk. This was the reason she didn’t want to use her leg. We took her back up to Blue Pearl and explained to the vet what was happening. The vet heard the same thing we did, then proceeded to tell us she would need to go back in and shave the part that was “clicking” because it was something missed, or not done correctly during the first surgery. Knowing this, knowing this was caused by the vet not doing this completely in the first surgery, we were charged for this second surgery. This was an issue not caused by us, but missed and/or not done correctly the first time and we were still charged for her second surgery. The cost of both were astronomical. Not only that, after the vet went in the second time, my dog never fully recovered. She has a permanent limp. To watch your pet struggle daily to walk is certainly upsetting, to make it worse, she was running yesterday, let out a scream, and now can’t walk. Where will we take our dog to get help? I have no idea. But to take them back to a place that missed something in a surgery, then charged us for their mistake, isn’t a choice for us. **UPDATE** it took me a while to post this news. Due to the results of my dogs ACL surgery, she had been using her good leg to bare most of her weight. My Shih Tzu was running to greet my husband and blew out her bad leg again, and her good leg. The leg had been deteriorating because she favored her good leg. Unfortunately, after being counseled by our vet, Daisey had to be put down. The damage to both legs was to painful and extensive. She was 11 years old. I know she had a lot of life left in her, if not for these atrocious events, she would still be here. ♥️????????

Absolutely love this place!!! Had taken our little man to the emergency clinic off Hwy 9 and 24th in Norman only yo be told he had to wait in the heat until they called and he would have to go in alone. Um, that's a hard no. Called Blue Pearl and was told he wouldn't be waiting in the heat and we could go in with him. Once we got there we all put our masks on and went in. They took great care of him, got him diagnosed, on meds and we were on our way all at a very reasonable price. Will definitely come here now for all of our emergencies. Thank you all for taking such great care of our little man!

This is not a emergency vet!!!!! Refuse to see our cat that all the sudden tonight can’t walk and is lethargic! She is our baby!! Our normal vet is closed till morning! Practically begged for her to be seen! They said they can’t get to her tonight. We pray she makes it till morning. A little 5 year old girl will be devastated if she looses her best friend! Your not a emergency vet so quit advertising it! It’s really irrelevant now, because of your refusal to see her she passed away during that night.

My dog Lucy is a jumper and took a T post to her arm pit in our back yard. We also believe that she was stuck on the post and our Rottweiler ripped her down trying to help. It was an incredibly deep wound and completely flayed her chest and armpit open. She almost bled out in the car on the way to the hospital. The team at Blue Pearl was extremely prompt to get Lucy back into the operating area and had her stitched up and back to us that night to begin her recovery at home. Pricing was very transparent with a minimum cost and the maximum cost if they needed to do any extra procedures. Lucy is the most jumpy, wild, and lean dog I’ve ever had. For them to be able to get her comfortable in her injured state and healing appropriately is a miracle.
