We switched from Banfield (Petsmart) Vet Hospital to Good Shepard a few years ago and have not regretted it since. However, I am writing now to share my most recent experience bringing my fur babies in for their annual vaccines and Cytopoint injections. The team that administered the vaccines to both of my puppies (they are 11 and 12 years of age but always puppies in my mind) were just so kind. My puppies are well behaved and shots have never bothered them. Regardless of that fact, they still treated them with the utmost gentleness by distrating them with cheese whiz for their culinary pleasure. The team spoke so calmly and sweetly to them for extra distraction meanwhile apologizing for any pain afflicted. The team is always so nice and always ask if I have any additional questions or concerns. My dogs are very low maintenance but the fact that the Good Shepard team is not looking for the "quick exit" is so very appreciated. Thanks Good Shepard! God Bless!

We adopted a dog that was very easy going from a shelter. Sadly the dog attacked our cat that we rushed to good shepherd vet late in the evening. Sadly our kitty cat didn’t make it but dr Holley was the best. Not just compassionate with …

I can absolutely trust that my animals are receiving the best care, when I bring them to Good Shepherd. I had to make an appointment for my 9 yr. Old Golden Retriever. During this appointment, the vet that was seeing her, Dr. Shane Murray, noticed something about her belly shape. He quickly realized how urgent the situation was and sent us to a specialist. Turns out my girl had cancer and passed away a week later. If he had not alerted us, she very well could have passed without us understanding what was truly happening. We thought she was in pain due to arthritis. We had no idea that it was something that was as bad as it was. We were able to make her comfortable and truly cherish her last week of life. As hard as it was to lose my baby girl, it would have been much harder if we had not been prepared. My 2 yr old Golden Retriever absolutely loves going there. The atmosphere is very friendly and caring. No matter what vet you see, the care is fantastic. I can not recommend them enough.

I have confidence in GSVH and staff. They treat us with respect. The facility is first rate and always clean. Their hours are very accommodating, including all day Saturday appointments. There are about 8 vets on staff so if a second opinion is needed its available.

Entire staff takes such good care of my Dog and it shows the minute you arrive. Friendly-and a willingness to answer your questions. I know she is in good hands when she is day care and is happy to see them.

Today was one of the hardest day in our family, we lost one of our family members, our Kitty cat called MW after about 13 years of having him. I have never seen such excellent care, such compassion, empathy and professionalism as Dr. Long and his team showed. They took such excellent care of MW during his last moments and also us as a family. We would not have chosen a better veterinary team. If I could give more than 5 stars, I would. Thank you all and God bless ya'll.

We have been using Good Shepherd for years. The first animal I took there was my Lab, Lacie. She went to them for years and was always cared for in a wonderful way. When Lacie aged and the decision had to be made they were next to me the entire way in such a caring a professional manner. So when we got our new dog 2 years later there was no question where we would take her, in fact her first appointment was in the same room my Lab dog crossed the rainbow bridge in AND after the curious puppy got done smelling the room and checking everything out she laid down in the exact same spot my lab took her last breath. So yeah, I’m a lifetime customer there. Great people, great service and they truly care about the well-being of your animals.

Watch out. They will quote you a price, then after services rendered they will charge you more. Nobody seemes to care at the front desk when i asked. No explanation, just handed me the list of billed services and walked away.

We love Dr Murray at Good Shepherd. We saw him with our Shih Tzu when he had eye issues. Now we are concerned about possible seizures and he is ruling out any and all possible causes. They are very thorough and caring. Have recommended them to friends here in the BA area.

From experience the issue they went in with could have been treated with IV fluids. Neither dog could use their back legs and the vets advice was to let them sleep it off. Not my dogs but really. Ive had clients with this issue and the shepherds could have been treated. UPDATE Dr Long called me and went over everything and I stand corrected. The story I got from the human was not accurate. The right options were presented but turned down. I was impressed that he called to make sure everything was legit.

Good Shepherd has taken wonderful care of Luna for the past couple of years, she has been seen by several of the doctors there and we have always had positive experiences. There have been several occasions where they have gotten her in to be seen very quickly at a moment’s notice. We are especially grateful for Dr. Wulf’s attention to detail, she recommended testing for a rare disease and referred us to OVS for further treatment, which ultimately saved Luna’s life. I would highly recommend Good Shepherd, they are kind and compassionate, and they have always taken the time to explain things to me as well as address any concerns that I have. They also call to check on your pet a day or two after being seen, this is something I appreciate and really feel adds a personal touch to the care they provide.

Very caring staff. Ladies at front desk, Vet Techs and of course the Drs. Full service clinic and boarding, and they also trim your animals nails at no charge. Most places charge for this service. …

As an exotic pet owner I really appreciate how knowledgable they are here in both handling and treating animals. Sometimes vets don't know what to do with a snake, but that was not the case here, and I fully trust the expertise of the vet and vet techs here!

I am pretty new at good shepherd, they found time to get my dog in when she was sick and my vet that I had gone to for over 20 years couldn't get me in for two days, Dr. Long and Dr. Murray are great, the staff are all very friendly and loving to your furbabies. will be going there for a long time to come

My cousin referred me to Good Shepherd when I got my puppy at 8 weeks. I took her for initial shots and flea & tick medicine. My puppy is now 7 months and I took her to Good Shepherd to get spayed. She is recovering well from the surgery. They took excellent care of her and everyone is very professional. I plan to keep taking my dog here for her care.

I love good shepherd. I am confident in the care my fur family receives from them. The staff and doctors are wonderful. I never have any problems getting in for visits. I also love that I am able to get all meds my pets need to keep them healthy. I wouldn’t go anywhere else!

We had a stray come to us several years ago and a neighbor recommended Good Shepherd Veterinary Dr. Long. What a great fit. That baby has left us and we decided to get two pups and there was no doubt where we were going to take them. We have used not only Dr. Long but are comfortable with all the doctors and staff. Thanks for caring!

I had an emergency with my dog eating a Croc shoe and called the after hours emergency line this weekend. Dr. Murray called my back so fast! He was very reassuring and informative. I really appreciated him. We usually see Dr. Martin and have followed her from her previous location to Good Shepherd. I've been very happy with Good Shepherd since we've been going there. Thank you for taking such good care of our fur babies!! Highly recommend them!!

As a new dog owner Good Shepherd was recommended to me by my sister. We couldn't have been more pleased after our first visit with our new puppies. The facility was nice and clean, our wait time to get into an exam room and be seen by the physician and his tech was next to no wait time at all. I had quite a few questions being a new dog owner and all of my questions were answered and not once did I feel rushed during the visit. By check out time the puppies were restless so a quick check out was much appreciated. We scheduled our follow up visit before we left because I knew I had found the place in Good Shepherd that I wanted caring for my puppies vet needs.

I drive 25 min, passing a few other Vet offices to go here. The staff is great, and Dr. Martin is the best! She explains things clearly and you can tell she truly cares about the animals. Love this place!

Dr. Long and the entire staff at Good Shepherd take good care of all my pets. They are great with my dogs and are very quick to take care of any needs or concerns as they come up. Dr. Long has a passion for pet health and is great at not just caring for your pets but also explaining what is going on medically and teaching how to best care for our animals in the home. My dogs love the bathing services, and the complimentary nail trims are a lifesaver since I can't seem to get the dogs to sit still at home. Whether you are needing a trustworthy place to monitor and provide for your pet's healthcare needs or a caring place to board your furry family while on vacation, in my mind, Good Shepherd will always be the best and only option.

I took my kitten to be checked out following adoption from the BA shelter as instructed. The assistant told me what they wanted to do and gave me an estimate of the cost. Everything checked out good and I was told to bring him back in a couple of weeks to start shots as he was too young now. They were very thorough and efficient.
