I found South Arbor Animal Hospital via Reddit when I was doing research for my new puppy. The reviews on Reddit were overwhelmingly positive, so I decided to cross-check Google reviews, which had similar praises. I ultimately decided to go with SA because of the one-time vaccine fee. Upon arrival, the staff called me to go over expectations and questions prior to entering (which I assume is a Covid protocol--something I very much appreciate!). When my partner and I came in with our pup Disco, the staff was so excited to meet him. They immediately made Disco happy to be at the vet and it really made me feel welcomed, too. From that moment I could tell the staff loved what they do and love the animals they treat. Everyone made my partner and I feel included in Disco's care and his experience a great one. The vet, vet tech's, and office staff were knowledgeable and caring; they answered all of our questions thoroughly. There was never a moment that Disco looked uncomfortable, scared, or anxious (except when feeling a different floor texture under his feet, which was alleviated by a treat from the vet tech). Disco is my first dog so I don't have other dog vet experiences to compare to but I felt that I was listened to and that Disco was given exceptional care. My other vet experiences were from putting down my elderly cats that I adopted late in their lives. I can compare with those vet experiences, where one vet was very shaming toward my decision to put down a 16 year old hypoglycemic cat that recently had multiple strokes. My SA vet experience completely lacked shame and guilt--something I believe is a necessity in healthcare both for people and animals. The vet techs also showed my partner and I how to cut Disco's nails. Overall, with all services and vaccinations, our bill was about $180. I feel this is very fair pricing and affordable for my budget. My partner, Disco, and I were sent home with flea/tick/heartworm medications and lots of informational documents. Even though I take notes, having the additional documentation is extremely helpful. Overall, my experience at South Arbor was overwhelmingly positive. You have clients for life. I also love seeing a staff of smart, strong women keeping the ship running :) Y'all made Disco feel like a star!

We take our dogs here for their medical needs and are pleased with the care they receive. The prices are fair and the staff are amazing.

They are here in your time of need

The staff was very friendly and helpful when I was trying to get my dog through the door and she tends to panic and run the opposite way. They saw me struggling struggling came out to help. Then in the exam room they were very accommodating and decided to take her to the back room and examine her, which she tended to do better being away from me that way. They were knowledgeable and wrote everything out with the cost and all our options. I would highly recommend them!

My pups first puppy visit was today and I was so happy with the staff and the professionalism that I received as well as my pup received. I understand why they got the best reviews.

The staff are always friendly and helpful. They help with whatever you need and don't make you feel rushed for asking questions.

We always see Dr. Danskin, the most wonderful, caring vet I've ever met, but I have seen Dr. Noel twice now and I really like her. She didn't push me to have extra testing or x-rays, she listened without interrupting and Scout really seemed to like her. The staff is great as well.

Took my new puppy for his first visit. Staff was nice and friendly. The vet did a quick wellness check on him. We got our vaccines and a puppy pack which is super helpful for first time dog owners.

They have continued to take care of this bundle of joy for almost 6 years now. They are the best with service.

I appreciate the fact they discuss your charges before they do anything and don't push a lot of testing on you.

The entire staff is wonderful! You can tell they really care about your pet and they always treat me with respect.

Dr. Noel has been taking care of Larry, my Greyhound for almost 5 years now. And she cared for Ruby, my first Greyhound for three years before that. She helped me make the hard decision to say goodbye to Ruby and did so with a great deal of care and compassion. The staff is friendly and are always responsive to any calls and inquiries I have. I highly recommend SAAH. Larry loves going in and getting all of the attention from the staff. He completely forgets that he's a momma's boy when we get there and leaves me behind to go with anyone of the staff who needs to take and care for him.

I went to South Arbor for followup treatment of an eye enucleation that had gone wrong. Dr. Danskin determined that my dog needed surgery asap to resolve the situation, and they were able to fit me in the next day. The staff and Dr. Danskin were all so wonderful and caring! Dr. Danskin fixed this botched eye, and my baby girl is doing better after this 1 surgery than she has been in several weeks.
