Honestly the care seems good, but we're so put off by the tone of the email communications that is hard to see past that. I would love it if they altered their tone to incorporate a friendlier vibe. You can definitely instruct customers without all caps, red highlights, and threats.

A little pricey, but really great care - providers really want to ensure each animal is cared for to the fullest extent.

Dr. Kemner and the entire staff have taken wonderful care of us and our two senior dogs. They have helped us manage their issues as they progressed, and were caring when it was time to say goodbye. These folks will always care for our pets.

CCAH is outstanding. Our long time vet retired early in the pandemic and we were without regular care for our cats for a while. Then earlier this year, one of our cats had a serious medical crisis that required immediate attention and prolonged diagnostics over the course of a weekend. CCAH was able to take her immediately, provide exceptional care and updates, work with us to understand everything that was going on, and, finally, figure out her issue and perform life-saving surgery. They walked us through aftercare and made an incredibly stressful time as smooth as possible. I was so thankful to both Dr. Forbes and Dr. Kemner for all the time spent talking to us off hours, never rushing anything, and clearly working to understand our kitty's issues and help her heal. I also can't say enough good things about the techs who took questions, sent us pictures and updates, and remained positive throughout the experience. Especially with (very understandable) COVID restrictions, it was so important to us to know that our girl was getting the best care over many days and nights away from home when we couldn't see her. While of course I would prefer not to have gone through this, the silver lining is we found a new vet in whom I have the utmost confidence and trust for issues large and small.

I would’ve given a good review but I do not agree with their new policy of charging $30 if you want a prescription called in to a different pharmacy. I don’t necessarily agree with the $10 fee either- what if your pet has an unexpected emergency needing medication? Then to get the best care and get the medication filled right away, we need to pay an extra $10?

They’re amazing! We have a 4 month old pup and have taken our dog there since he was 8 weeks. He absolutely LOVES them! He would go there everyday just to hang out with the staff if he could. Further, we just had an emergency and they took him in right away and we’re able to get him better without a wait. We were afraid of >$1,000 bill, but it was just under $200. Of course it depends on the treatment, but we were happy we weren’t over charged. I couldn’t recommend them enough. Edit: they do close at 5, and we didn’t even realize that as we called and brought him in around 4:45, and they didn’t even hesitate to help. Just another reason we love them!

10/10 Samantha is the absolute best and always super cheerful and helpful when answering the phone! The staff are always so helpful, kind and considerate. My pup is very nervous and reactive, but the staff here always go the extra mile to help her feel as safe and comfortable as possible. And they're very understanding of any unique situations or circumstances people find themselves in and try their best to work with you. They always answer my questions kindly and make sure I totally understand everything, even when they're very busy. They're extremely helpful via email and on the phone, as well as in person. Really great team of people who truly DO care about our pets the way we do. They do everything in their power to make sure my pup is healthy and fix her when she isn't. Absolutely lovely people! Thank you for taking care of my pup like she's yours!! Pics of my pup included since I went on and on about her :)

Staff was very helpful and professional. The doctor spent a lot of time talking to me and making sure I understood all of the care options for my kitty.

I took our dog here as a new patient. Even with all of the COVID restrictions I know he had a thorough exam and I spoke directly with the vet over the phone about his care/my concerns. I liked that the vet would offer a few solutions to our problems/concerns so that I could pick the best one for us. Smooth overall experience, definitely recommend.

I switched to Compassionate Care Animal Hospital for my dog, because they are Fear Free trained facility and am so happy that I did. Dr. Forbes and the rest of the staff are attentive and take the time to educate me on her care. They were great with educating me on importance of weight management/caloric intake with my dog. I would highly recommend!!!!

I have loved taking my dog here. They’re so friendly and helpful. All my experiences have been A+ with the team over here. In general, I would recommend this hospital to anyone! They truly care about the animals and keep a constant open line of communication. I do want to specifically shoutout Darcy though. I was so panicked about some health issues going on with my sweet dog that I called like three times in one day with questions. Darcy was so kind, considerate, and responsive. She encouraged me to send an email with a photo of the wound I was referring to so she could take a look and ease my mind. Darcy encouraged me to come email her with any questions I might have later on after answering my initial question. As a panicked dog mom I was emailing Darcy like a million questions (exaggerated but you get the idea) falling down a Google rabbit hole - guilty as charged. She didn’t once treat me like a burden or make me feel silly for being concerned about my pets well-being. She continually answered my questions with knowledge, kindness, and an upbeat positive attitude. It has been an extremely stressful few days for our family. Darcy has really helped our family and most importantly the health and well-being of our sweet fur baby! She’s a real treasure and I hope that she gets the recognition she deserves. Darcy truly loves our animals and shows just as much compassion for their owners.

My dogs had both been at another popular Ann Arbor vet for many years, but I felt they stopped caring about my dogs and whenever my dog would have a serious health concern or emergency they wouldn’t be able to see them for months. I found Compassionate Care after seeing the good reviews online, as well as it being close to our home. Well the reviews weren’t wrong, this place is the best! I called on a Friday and was able to get my dog seen next Tuesday for some serious skin issues that was causing my dog to be very miserable. The pick up/drop off was easy. The vet called me to thoroughly discuss options and treatment for my dog. They didn’t only immediately find a solution to relieve her discomfort but they are also doing testing to find a long term solution as well. I felt we received better care in just one appointment than my dog has received in years of appointments for her health issues at the previous vet. My dog and I are both very grateful we found Compassionate Care!

I have two huskies that are followed by Compassionate Care. We picked them due to their Fear Free certification which is necessary due to my 6 year old female having a lot of anxiety. Unlike other vets, she has never been anything but excited to go to Compassionate Care due to the love, individualized attention, and *compassion* that she receives form the amazing vets, technicians, and administrative staff. Now that I have a COVID pup, I feel I am at Compassionate Care weekly, especially since our little husky LOVES to get into everything he can. Most staff know when I am calling about my little trouble maker and despite an exorbitant amount of anxious calls both during and after hours, I have received nothing by kindness and understanding from the staff. They have worked with me to identify a sensitive stomach, a respiratory infection, help with a blockage, and just about everything else you NEVER want your puppy to have to experience in their first year of life. Through all of these visits, you would think my puppy would hate the vet. Instead, he whines happily and pulls to enter the facility because he, too, knows he will be taken care of (and definitely knows there are treats coming). Like all vets, Compassionate Care has been bogged down with patients due to the influx in pets due to COVID-19 and there have been slightly longer wait and response times than we have previously experienced. Despite this, I have never felt like I received anything but 100% focused and caring attention from the staff. In addition, while not being able to be with my anxious pup in the facility due to COVID precautions has been difficult for me as an anxious dog mom, it has been so reassuring that they are taking the precautions to protect their staff and human owners and balancing that with ensuring all pets are as comfortable and feel as safe as possible. The jobs that they do are not easy but they do them incredibly well. My family has since moved out of Ann Arbor but the care we have received at Compassionate Care makes the 30+ minute drive more than worth it, despite us having reputable vets within 5 minutes of us. I could not recommend Compassionate Care more highly and I will never be able to thank them enough for keeping my family (both the humans and the dogs) safe during what has been a challenging time.

I’ve had an awesome experience with CCAH. They took great care of my puppy when he got sick, making time in their schedule to get him the care he needed immediately. And they are very responsive to all my questions and concerns.

Very professional, compassionate, skilled, and friendly business. I will go out of my way to seek help for my pets with these technicians, and doctors, they really care! And they suggest all of your options. If you need help covering the costs there are options they can provide. Just tell them your situation and bring your pet in. Don't let your pet suffer Compassionate Care Animal Hospital can help.

If i could give 6 stars i would. This is my first pet (cat named Cliff) and all of the staff made me feel so comfortable-they kept me in the loop about all of the decisions and never make me feel badly for calling for an update or question (as a new & nervous cat mom I called many times). The team sent me pictures of my cat while he was there overnight since i couldn't see him and told me anecdotes about some of his behavior. I love how communicative the CCAH staff is both with their patients and internally. I know that when one doctor or tech tells me something, the rest of the team has been notified and is on the same page. Dr. Forbes takes her work very seriously-you can tell she is treating your pet like she would her own. She is passionate about animals and compassionate toward their owners. She sees part of her role as supporting pet-parents (not just treating the pet's condition); as a social worker, i really appreciate her holistic approach. I have never met someone as dedicated to their work as Dr.Forbes and will always want her to be part of Cliff's care team.

My dog had a minor medical emergency and they were able to fit him in same-day on short notice. The prices were great and the staff were very friendly and super helpful!

Dr. Forbes spent a long time on a telemedicine call about my dog. We had been having problems with aggressiveness towards one of our other dogs and were under a lot of stress and out of options as to what to do. She listened to both my husband and my concerns and gave us some good options to explore. She also recommended talking with the behavior specialist with the practice. I would recommend them!

I adopted a dog with pretty severe anxiety issues and decided to bring her to CCAH after our first vet appointment at another clinic didn't go very well (I was told she needed to be muzzled and was so aggressive the exam couldn't be completed fully). During her first appointment CCAH, she made it through the full exam and didn't need to be muzzled at any point. Dr. Forbes also made the recommendation to add in anti-anxiety medications. Initially, I didn't like feeling like I was drugging my dog and was worried she would become a zombie, but nothing else seemed to be working, so I was open to it. I'm so glad I trusted Dr. Forbes. My dog is more energetic, she sleeps better, and she's so much less reactive. She's also so much more affectionate and playful. Within a few days of starting the medication, our trainer was blown away by her turnaround. Now after a few weeks and carefully working out dosages with Dr. Forbes, she's never been happier. The absolute best part is that the changes in her have improved her relationship with our other dog and he's so much happier too.

If I could post a zero, I would. Our dog was put to sleep at our home today. Not saying it was CCAH's fault, but certainly the fact that they wouldn't see her curbside because one of our family members had gone out of town, could have been a factor. Then they refused contact or care of we didn't remove the review. Thankfully, we found a vet who SAW her and diagnosed her neurological issues and we were able to put her out of her misery. I understand that the COVID situation is difficult, but for goodness sake, if the doctors don't trust the science, what does that say about science?

I am the companion of an old dog with kidney disease and arthritic hips. We have been successful in bringing her kidney numbers down and now it’s time to work on the hip pain. She is currently on adequan every two weeks but doesn’t seem to be working. I called CCAH to schedule an appointment but because I went to Florida a few days ago they will not see Haley until she is quarantined for two weeks regardless the emergency. That’s what I call compassion. A quick search shows both the CDC and the Mayo Clinic give no guidance towards animal quarantine. It also seems the veterinarians and teachers in Florida are open for business and fairing well. When doctors stop following science that says it all. Response to Response: we have responded to your email three times now with no response from you. Your email states you will only see our sick dog if we do something we are uncomfortable doing. On our original phone call you also stated that you will not see Haylie regardless the emergency for two weeks because I drove outside of Michigan alone without Haylie. You would not even let another vaccinated family member bring her (you did state you would find a health care provider outside of CCAH that would see her during your required two week quarantine). I appreciate your offer for an after hours online visit in two days. I believe all our online consults have been scheduled after hours by your office. You have my phone number and email.

Dr. Forbes and the entire CCAH team are top flight. We've brought our cats and dog to them since we moved to Ann Arbor, and have always received personal, caring, professional service at every stage of life. They have developed an excellent curbside model to keep the practice going safely through the pandemic, for which we are most grateful!

I cannot express how wonderfully amazing the staff and doctors are at CCAH. My dog has been known to be nervous and aggressive to his doctor so when I brought him to CCAH for gastrointestinal issues, that had been going on for years with no answers from other vets, I was nervous that I was never going to find a solution because he was aggressive. Dr. Forbes met him and treated him like he was her own dog with love and compassion for what he was going though and what I was feeling. Because she and her staff were so open and loving HE WAS NOT AGGRESSIVE AT ALL. He loves it there and they love him. After years of other vets misdiagnosing him, Dr.Forbes figured it out and we put him on a diet that worked. That is one of MANY times she and her team were there for him and myself. Even when calling the after hours line multiple times the person on the other line is ALWAYS reassuring and never makes me feel stupid. I love this vet and I recommend it highly to everyone.
