I love this place. My fur kids are treated so well and the service, I can’t say enough about the employees that work there. Best group of people under the same roof. My dogs get the excellent care❤️

If I could rate them a -20 I would????. My daughters pet was choking and my daughter was very emotional about her pet. The ENTIRE staff was rude and heartless going on and on about money, when it was very clear she was upset. Not one person there had the decency to check on my daughter or even let her know that it would be ok. They just worried about the money. They kept pushing her to put the pet down claiming there was nothing they could do. In the end they put her pet in an Amazon box and placed the receipt on top the box. Then told her they didn't charge her full price, as if that was going to make the loss of her pet easier. Why work in this field if you have no soul? I WOULDNT RECOMMEND GOING THERE IF YOUR ANIMAL WAS ON FIRE. THEY ARE AWFUL AND I DO MEAN AWFUL. FROM THE RECEPTIONIST TO THE VET DOCTOR. Job requirements for there is just to be heartless. And they all deserve employees the month for that!

Very over priced my dog cut his tail off and was bleeding bad and we still had to wait for two hours then the bill was gonna be $2,000 for surgery

Staff was nice but ended up waiting 6 hours total. Was “next to be seen” for an hour and a half. Especially infuriating when a pet is in pain. Would not go back unless you have a lot of time to spare.

I called to see if my dog could be seen for symptoms of a UTI as her regular vet couldn't see her for another 5 days and I didn't feel comfortable waiting that long. The receptionist stated to come at 6:30pm. The time they wrote on my intake sheet that I arrived and returned paperwork was 6:14pm. We sat in the car for 2 1/2 hrs with multiple other people who had appointments at 6pm who still hadn't been seen. I rang the bell to speak with someone and asked if she knew how much longer it would be before we would be seen as my appointment time was 6:30pm and it's now 8:30pm. She immediately became very rude and snippy and stated, " There is no such thing as appointment times here it is an after hours emergency visit. Could be a minimum of another hour to be seen. I don't know what you want me to tell you." I told her I was told on the phone by the other receptionist to be here at 6:30pm for my APPOINTMENT and I didnt appreciate how rude she was. I walked out in disbelief at how rude she was to me and decided to go back and get my paperwork. I didnt want my pet seen by such rude inconsiderate people. I understand if a serious emergency came in but communicate that to your clients. I'm sorry if you were having a bad day but show some compassion and professionalism. I wasn't having a good day either, I just wanted someone to help my pet feel better not be talked to like dirt. I certainly hope that girl has more compassion for the pets she cares for than the people she interacts with. Awful customer/client service. Wouldn't recommend unless you have hours and hours to wait with no help. Some staff need a lesson is professionalism and basic etiquette with other human beings. Definitely not how you should run a business that serves the community.

My mother, sister, and I came here at 3:00 in the afternoon. We sat in the parking lot waiting for a call to get in for an hour and a half and since I could not go in my mother had to take our cat in by herself. She sat inside for 2 and a half almost 3 hours and all my cat got done to her was get weighed and it is almost 8:00 and my cat has still not been checked on. She has been sitting/laying in her crate for over 5 and a half hours now and when my mother went to go say something about what’s taking so long and why hasn’t our cat been checked on yet and if it’s safe and okay for a cat to be in a crate for 5 and a half hours all the lady said to her was “she’ll be fine”… are you kidding me???.. never again!

This is lori McElwain reviewing Dr debbie Shondrick ...Dr Debbie Shondrick doesn't deserve to serve the animal community of south wheeling, she's only in it if u have 4 million in the bank and then she will give u her personal cell number and run up a bill of 13,000, I can prove ii. A boycott of this business will take place next Saturday at 10am

Animal Urgent Care Center was the closest vet still open at 6:30 on a Tuesday night when I found my cat had been attacked by my dog. After a phone call with a very nice receptionist and tech and an hour and a half drive later, my cat was seen immediately. The doctor was very honest and up front with me and explained what was happening. Unfortunately I had to come to the decision to have my Lucy euthanized. The tech was wonderful, stayed with Lucy as much as she could to love on her and keep her calm as well as reassure me I was making the best decision in her interest. Everyone was so nice. I also received a beautiful sympathy card in the mail from the staff. I appreciate all of their help, wisdom, and compassion. Thank you all.

The staff and Dr. are excellent and knowledgeable, they were all very professional and extremely nice. They were the only vet in the area that I could my dog into for an emergency procedure.

They charged us $400 to break our cats fever. We got an ice pack, a rectal thermometer, an antibiotic (which the actual vet changed the next day because it was wrong) As my cat started breathing heavy and I started crying, they only asked for my debit card and asked me to step out of the room because I pulled my mask down to wipe my nose. Save your money until the next business day for someone who cares and will help. If you are looking at this review, chances are your pet is having a problem. I can assure you they don’t care. The old lady dr had probably the absolute worst bedside manner I’ve ever seen. They all asked me the exact dollar amount, LITERALLY TO THE DOLLAR, I could spend then made me feel like I didn’t care about my cat when I said “around $400” . The nurse told me I’d be lucky to get him one dose of antibiotics. I could go on and on. They told me more than likely he had gotten sick because I took him to ‘a low cost clinic to get fixed and he picked something up from the strays’ (elm grove animal hospital) ???????? she said “you get what you pay for” If I can save one person from going here this review will be worth it. Very sad that someone became a vet then tries to belittle and take financial advantage of someone who clearly would do anything to save their beloved pet in a time of crisis.

Had to take are dog in last night thay did what wus needed and were nice people no complaints I read what a lot of people say yes it wus high priced but there the only after hrs animal hospital around that we could find we care deeply for are animals and are dog got hurt last night and they were able to help. There just like any business u heat go's out in the middle of the night and u call a hvac technician to u house it going to cost u same as a vet I am just glad there wus somewhere to go for are dog. One more thing I like to say people please be fair in u Reviews because people do read them and make judgments base on other people experience. And based on the one's I read on this place it scared me to take are dog there but we had no other choice at the time. Thay did what they needed to do and were professional about it so thank u guys for being there.

Well I hope it's not too urgent, this place is closed more than it is open. Might want to remove "urgent" from your name. Call it Animal sometimes care.

I am from out of state and my basset ended up with an abscessed tooth. Dr Shondrick and her staff took great care of Maddie on both visits. The first visit was an after hrs and the second was a regular vet visit, both times the price was very reasonable, and they get you in and out pretty quickly. I would recommend them to anyone, especially if you are not from the area and not established with a vet.

We took our dog here last week and told them that he was throwing up. All they cared about was the fact that he rolled over and told us he had a spinal injury and that the “next 72 hours are critical.” Two days after that, we took him back only to find out they didn’t give him ANYTHING for his stomach, just medication for a spinal injury that he didn’t have and it caused him to throw up more. They told us then if he doesn’t improve within 48 hours, it was too late to do anything. Today, 4 days after the last review we finally made the hard decision that we would have to put him down only to call there and have them tell us that we haven’t done enough and he needs bloodwork and X-rays. This place only cares about their money.

Had to take our 14+ y/o boxer pit in to be seen for a swollen back leg and was very happy with our care. Everyone was really nice and accommodating. Our regular vet couldn't see us and recommended I come here. Our dog can get aggressive in high stress situations so he is always muzzled, Jeff was great with him and helped keep him calm and at ease which I was very glad for. They evaluated him, came up with a game plan, have him meds for home and instructions to call in a few days with a report. His leg is noticably better today thankfully but we are still monitoring him closely. They were very up front when I called regarding prices and forms of payment accepted and also prices for possible treatment he may have needed which I appreciated. I thought their prices for emergency care were reasonable as I've paid way more other places for less quality care. I felt I was informed of all of the important details before I showed up and knew what to expect. I did have to sign a quote form prior to any treatment which was fine. Everything was explained to me and I have no complaints. All of the staff were great and very organized , the office was nice and clean. I would recommend to anyone who needs care for their pets. I have read all of the previous reviews and while every circumstance is different, I felt this place as with any vet office, did the best of their knowledge to treat my dog whom they have never seen before to make him feel better . The Dr was very up front and blunt which I also appreciated very much

My local vet diagnosed my dog with back problems. Took him to Animal Urgent Care and Dr. Shondrick and her amazing staff did bloodwork and X-rays. They found out that it wasn’t his back but he had kidney stones. I could never thank them enough for treating my baby boy. Dr. Shondrick and her entire staff was extremely friendly and treated my baby boy like one of their own. I will forever be grateful to Dr.Shondrick and her staff.

We had a recent scare with our beloved poodle. We had no idea what had occurred and they were able to pin point the source and get him immediate care. Very knowledgeable and friendly staff. Highly recommend!

The vet was very rude! Not pleasant at all and very poor bedside manner. The rest of the staff were all very nice, but if I ever have any other issues with my animals, (praying that I don’t), I will be driving to Washington animal hospital. With being a wheeling resident and only living a few minutes away, that says a lot!

My Jack Russell was having breathing issues at night and throughout the day. Dr. Debby and her staff treated Maggie and myself with compassion and respect. Maggie is starting to breathe easier and we can't recommend her and her wonderful staff enough.

My beagle was stung by hornets on a Saturday evening. The doctor and staff were amazing, caring, and attentive. My baby is good as new today thanks to them! Anytime we have visited this clinic, they have been top notch!
