My fiancé and I moved to the area about 2 years ago. He served 20 years as a Marine. We stopped in for a visit and inquired about joining. We met with the quarter master and he was more than willing to sign us up and take the dues for membership. He gave us both temporary membership cards. We began going to the post for dinner and other functions. We wanted to become more involved and began asking about meetings so that we could volunteer. We both showed up on two separate occasions and not even the barmaids were aware of that being a meeting night. As time went on we decided that it wasn’t to post for us and at that point we realized we never got our official membership cards. I began calling and leaving messages for the quarter master over several weeks with no call back. At that point I called the powers that be in Columbus and found out that my fiancé wasn’t even on the roster. So, this post took our money and never turned it in. May I remind you that he served two tours over seas! He is a Veteran of Foreign Wars and was treated less than by a VFW. This place is nothing more than a bar under the name of VFW. I’m to believe that in a matter of 13 days a meeting was held and a vote took place to deny his membership that was paid for a year and a half prior to making a phone to Columbus to inquire about membership cards. If you are looking a cheap place to eat and drink….you found it! If you are looking for a VFW to join……keep looking.

Good people , great service. My brother, d a r r i e l Lowe operated that piece of military equipment, nicknamed the Duster anti aircraft track vehicle in Vietnam in 1970.

My first visit was to ask questions and see the club was all about and the first person I talked to waz the bartender who was pretty busy but devoted his time to give me most of the information I wanted to know. I think his name was Anthony, but don't put a lot of faith in my memory. Loosmemory.
