Very friendly staff. The animals seem healthy and well cared for. The cat area is very clean. I never once smelled any litter odors.

I have adopted pets and accompanied others to adopt pets here for 15 years. I visit even when I'm not personally looking for a pet. I cannot recall any time where staff behaved poorly, as alleged by some of these nearly-comical negative reviewers. You have to live in a terrible home (or be too clueless to lie about having a good home for pets) to have your adoption application rejected.

I had a good adoption experience. But they included in the adoption contract that the first vet visit is required within the first 14 days and would be free. My dog got a UTI after 3 days so I called to get the vet information and they said they would no longer honor that part of the contract. I don’t understand how they are not contractually obligated to.

If I could post no stars I would. I have had two experiences with this place and they are a joke. Once I wanted to get two cats to live in my heated and cooled barn completely enclosed barn abs they would not let us have them Secondly my husband took a cat there that showed up on our property that we itnially thought was our lost cat. We took him to our vet abs sadly he wasn’t ours. He is declawed tho so obviously someone’s pet and they turned him away. Told him to let him back outside. Wow

First time I have use the catch and release. Love the experience. The people working here were awesome. They clip the cat ear so I know now and an anyone else will know this cat will not be having kittens????????????

Well where do I start... They make you jump through so much hoops to adopt even when I’ve adopted with them in the past then they gave me my puppy and he had worms and I called to Address the problem because they already give him a de warmer and they told me that it pretty much wasn’t there problem and they wouldn’t give him another around of it which the first round is suppose to take care of that problem. In the future I will not be doing my Business here.

Amazing experience with this place. Got our dog there years ago and absolutely would again.

I would never take an animal to this shelter. Very unprofessional behavior. Do not put an animal out on the floor to be adopted if they have NOT been seen and treated by a REAL vet! Will never step foot in this place again.

I popped in for a visit and the team could not have been more courteous. Very polite, answered all my questions (even if I thought they were silly), and let me tour all the different dogs there. The place seemed clean and orderly. I would have NO problems working with them on my upcoming adoption. Great job, team.

We found our furever fur baby here. He came with zero promises of training, but he’s the envy of the neighborhood. We spent a few weeks training him this summer. Like many shelter dogs, I’m his security blanket, but he will stay as he watches me disappear to a campground potty or around a trail bend. He’s awesome! It’s truly shameful that one person is claiming (many times) that the shelter steals dogs...so many times that it alters the ratings. First, a dog must somehow escape. It’s the owner’s fault. Second, if the owner cannot find the time to personally visit the many local shelters or relies on law enforcement (which has more important matters at hand), then maybe that pet deserves a better home. I know I’m being harsh. Sorry, but if my fur baby disappeared, I would not stop looking. It’s that simple because a pet isn’t something you “get” for your kids. A pet is a part of your family. The bond lasts forever.

Best adoption experience ever! We rescued a HW+ doggie (Queenie) and they took great care of her, healed her before we took her home. She is the greatest joy. We visited her throughout her treatment and everyone was so kind to us. The facilities were very clean and well taken care of. I will adopt all of our future family members from this shelter. Thank you for giving Queenie a chance so we could treat her like the queen she really is -Ha! So happy they didn't give up on her.

After I had an amazing experience with this shelter, I was shocked to read some of the reviews. Maybe some are true, but I personally I had a really great experience with this shelter. Everyone was super nice to my mom and I, we were greeted by adorable cats at the front door and the shelter was nice and clean. They let us explore the shelter on our own which was nice, and I found a really sweet cat I fell in love with. Adopting him was incredibly easy, they had no problems at all with my application. All of the animals were adorable and looked like they were being adopted fast. 5 other adoptions were happening when I got my cat. Overall really great, loved it it here!

Worst people I've ever had to deal with. First off I call to have stray kittens taken off my property an they say they gotta be 8 weeks ok that's fine 8 weeks comes then they're full. They don't call back for 2 months then finally they say they are to old. Then they call back again a month later an called them back 20 minutes later they dont answer for 2 days. Lol most useless place in ohio.

They could care less about finding homes for the dogs. They have dogs who have been there for YEARS and refuse to adopt them out. They also are not non kill! A friend went in to adopt a dog and they refused to let her have it. They then scheduled that dog to be put down. DO NOT SUPPORT THIS TORTURE CHAMBER!

Looks like instead of replying about the situation, this place reported my first review to Google as fake. It’s true. THEY STEAL DOGS. If they have your dog but it’s a nice breed they will lie to you and say they don’t have it, and then adopt it out. This is not speculation, it happened to my husband. Lebanon is a small town. The shelter adopted HIS DOG to his family friend with children. By the time the family friend showed him his “new dog he just adopted from the shelter” the kids were already attached. The shelter told him every day he called that they didn’t have the dog. IF YOU ARE MISSING YOUR DOG, PHYSICALLY GO AND CHECK IF THEY HAVE IT. We are not the only ones this has happened to.

Called today to get details on maybe some local shelters I could take a stray cat to in this cold weather and whoever answered the phone was so rude before I could even finish what I was saying she said we don’t have any room we are full and just sounded like she hated her life! If you treat ppl like this how are you treating the animals there ?!?!?

They don't care about pets or adoptions. They treated my friend like trash, when he came in to adopt a dog. They didn't let him to adopt the dog he picked. My advice - go somewhere else, don't waste your time for this place. They are rude and unprofessional.

We are a family of 5 with 2 dogs (beagle that was adopted at this particular shelter and a mini yorkie). We went to this shelter to find a new friend for our kids (7,8,13 y.o.). We were looking at cats since my daughter wanted a cat, and …

Will never come back here, as manager and ladies at the front desk are very rude. They don't seem to care about animals or humans. Very hateful people. Asked for a manager and he was the rudest person, I have ever met. Very disappointed.

Absolutely BEST pet adoption experience I've ever had. We were lucky enough to adopt a put bull named Speedway. I couldn't be more happy with how much they helped us.

The manager is absolutely the rudest person I have ever encountered. She would not allow my family and I to adopt a cat which would be brought into the most loving home possible due to the fact he might be exposed to the outdoors a little during the day. She told us we had no control over the cat being inside and outside if our other cats were also indoor outdoor (which unless a cat can open a door, I think we do have it under control). She provided us with false information about them being a no kill shelter. Although they are not killed there, they have them shipped to another location to be killed. For a place looking to rehome animals they do a terrible job. Many of those cats have been in there for months or even a year or so. The manager had an extremely rude tone of voice and told me to check my facts before speaking. They would rather you lie on your application instead of being honest and finding a compromise. Extremely disappointed with our experience.

Very clean and organized facility. All animals seemed to be very well taken care of. They have to make sure the adopted animals will be taken good care of and that’s why they have to ask so many questions and do some background research. In my case management went out of their way to make sure the adoption was successful and smooth.

Wouldn’t even give one star. Horrible management. Had no idea what was going on. We showed proof that we owned our home, they turned us away, the dog we wanted to adopt is STILL there and has been for over a year. We went to SPCA and adopted our Sampson there. We’ve had him since. We could’ve given Zues a perfect home. They’re a joke. Beyond rude. Very poorly presented and I wouldn’t recommend trying to adopt there.
