Absolutely no help or compassion on the phone. It was the only place I saw open at a late hour. I guess I was naive enough to think I could get my pet in last minute, but the woman on the phone made me feel worse after I got off. There was just no kindness, helpfulness, or compassion it seemed. I know places are backed up, but a little more kindness would have been much appreciated. Especially working at an animal hospital. I never write reviews, negative or positive, but this one just rubbed me the wrong way and left me feeling worse. Guess I’ll be looking for another place.

This place has really gone down hill. They used to be great! The newer office manager is rude, non compassionate and thinks it good practice to hang up on clients when she does not like what they have to say. She is very unprofessional and has no business working with the public, let alone animals.

If it was possible to give this location a 0/5 I would. When we arrived for our APPOINTMENT we were put on hold for 20+ minutes. While I understand there is a queue, when scheduled for euthanasia, there should be a different protocol like a different phone number to call or a separate door to access. Instead we sat in the car listening to classical music and a scared dog panting while we waited for them to take our call. Once the call was taken, we were told by the receptionist that four people could come into the room. As a wife to a member of the family, I was overjoyed that my husband and his immediate family would be able to say goodbye to their dog together. When the receptionist returned from a short hold, she came back on the line and let us know only two members were allowed in the room. While I understand such policies are in place, all adults are vaccinated and in the same family. If the grieving family was initially told that four people were allowed, then Stow-Kent should have stuck to the number we were originally told. Instead, absolute heartbreak echoed through the car as the family of four had to decide which half was going to go in to say goodbye to their beloved family dog. While in this case, I was in-law to the dog being treated, I used to take my dog to Stow Kent for regular check-ups. It wasn't until I was treated by another vet, out of state, that I realized my dog deserved better. While we all miss our four legged family member terribly, I am relieved that we will no longer have to deal with the policies and procedures that are associated with such establishment ever again.

2nd time we took our dog there to find out why he constantly acts like he is choking on something. We got no answer on what the problem is. So i spent $355 and still got nothing in return. We will not be returning there and will find another vet. I spent alot of money trying to help him and they basically did nothing. They are about the money not the actual care of your pet.

I was left waiting in my car with my dog in 85 degree weather after calling in to verify I was there. I waited over 30 minutes with no call to let me know if they were running behind and certainly no apology was given when I called to let them know I was leaving. The receptionist really made it sound like it was my fault that I had to leave and again offered no apology or explanation.

They are very organized and have taken care of my dog for the past year. The staff and the doctor are very friendly and explain everything clearly. My dog also enjoys his visit. They have multiple locations and always find a way to see you as soon as possible. I would definitely recommend it.

My little terror is an angel in the arms of Dr Doug Paroff! Everyone there genuinely seems to love their job. I've never had a bad experience over the phone or in person. They are well worth the drive for me to know my kitties will be getting such great care!

I have been taking my animals here for 20 years. The vets are good, but the ladies booking the appointments are so rude. I called to book an appointment for my dog, and the woman was having a hard time pulling up my record. She told me that my dog was not affiliated with the practice. I told her I have been going there for 20 years. She kept sighing into the phone and then she scolded me for having the record in my name, but under my husband's phone number. It took her 20 minutes to find the record. The entire time, she was rude with me and kept making snide comments. Finally, I told her that she didn't have to be rude, I was just trying to give my business to them. She then did not say one more word. She scheduled the appointment, and asked what was wrong with my dog. When I told her, she sighed into the phone very rudely. I scheduled with another vet, and when I called to have the records transferred over, I asked if they were interested in knowing why I was changing vets after 20 years. The same woman said, no, not really. Maybe they will care when they start getting poor reviews.

I called to get a stray we found and decided to keep spayed, but since we havent been there recently enough that said they arent excepting new clients, while information was in the system...? Havent gone there for years but apparently not being in there all the time they dont want your business or give advice. I wouldnt even be making this if i wasnt talked down to with such a condescending tone. I asked if maybe they knew any place that i could take her and got a dissertation about how vets dont call around checking to see what the others r doing and when people call and cant get in they dont call back to let them know a place that accepts people and who doesnt. was that necessary? I mean come on. If this is how they treat people i cant imagine how they treat the animals behind closed doors. Very unprofessional. I will go out of my way to tell people not to go here now. When i was a child my parents, twin sister and i took a kitten we had found to them to make sure she was ok and in good health. We were told she had Felime leukemia and they kept her, we didnt even get a choice, or a chance to say goodbye. This encounter brought that memory back, but i let it go and still brought my animals there. The disrespect i got over the phone...never again. Someone who is so unprofessional and rude should not be answering phone. Absolutely ridiculous.

My current Vet who I love was closed today . With that being said I called for advice on when I should be concerned enough about his cough to get him for an emergency visit if needed I was asked if he had been there in the past , he had aprox 2 1/2 years ago. She stated he could not fget any advice since we no longer had an account but nshe fond our account reading off my pets names. I was just trying to find out if my dogs cough could be serious enough to get into a Vet sooner than later ,if it could be serious enough to.get in for an emergency appointment. .She told me she would not give me any advice without being a client ( again we are in their system ) I will never take another pet to this place if that is how you treat someone trying to get some help or direction. I hope management sees this and re- consider the reason they went in to a profession caring for animals i if they can't even help someone with a question .

The staff has gone out of their way to meet the needs of animals throughout the pandemic. In addition, they were very kind and empathetic with the sudden illness of my beloved but elderly pet. The doctor provided suggestions in an appropriate manner and assuring me that I gave my pet the best life and lots of love.

Stow Kent Animal Hospital does not care about animals, and they don't want to see your pet. They refused to see ours again, even though we've been going to them for years. Apparently, we hadn't been in recently enough. Even though we have been seen several times for several of our pets, and have never seen any other vets in the area, they are now rejecting us. Can you imagine going to a hospital or a doctor when you're sick and having them say "sorry - now that you'e sick we can't see you because you haven't been in recently"? We are being rejected right at the point when we need them. I guess Stow Kent wants only a particular kind of clientele and is willing to reject past patients. Sounds negligent to me. But, they clearly don't want your business or mine. All the stuff they write on the web about how caring they are rings completely hollow.

I love Dr Carlson. He is wonderful and excellent doctor. He continues to provide care that has prolonged my pet's life for which I am truly thankful. And Stow Kent has some loving caring staff. Which is why after almost 45 years with this practice, I continue to drive almost an hour to come here. They deserve more than the 5 stars. However I had an experience today as well as in the past with one team member who can be absolutely rude. And whose behavior could put a pet at risk. I had been on hold for 10 minutes when the call was answered. I attempted to ask a question and the receptionist Alisha hung up on me. I called back and after another 15 minute hold, she answered again. She absolutely confirmed that she had hung up on me. And attempted to justify this behavior by saying she hung up on me because I "laughed at her." First that is not true. No way a person trying to get help for a terminally ill pet is going to be laughing at anyone or anything when trying to get help. Secondly: a professional does not hang up on anyone especially in the medical realm when an answer could be life or death for a beloved pet. This is unacceptable. My hope is that this review will lead to retraining so that Stow Kent's reputation for exemplary service provided by the excellent doctors and staff is not marred by this one person.

I have called to get my dog into the vet she was a patient with them and I got told because she hasn't been seen over 2 years they could not see her anymore but with covid she got sick about 1 year ago they were to busy so I took her to Medvet in copley so about them saying that they could not see her I went to another vet that got her in the same day to see her that now I lost them as a vet due to covid I lost a vet that she went to I thought that veterinarian were in it for saving pets and not about the money that is not the case with this place they only care that you bring in your pet for checkups every 6 months she was doing good until today will never go to this vet again go to medvet for all your pets needs
