I had to take my fur baby in because we thought she had a bone stuck in her throat. While it was costly and timely, I would have done anything and everything for my Rosie girl. While waiting there , I decided to go online and read more about this place and I won't lie, I got scared and thought for sure my baby wasn't walking out alive... I had the exact opposite experience. I'm pretty new to the area and everywhere I called to try to get her in couldn't! So, I traveled like 38 minutes to get here. They were beyond amazing with trying to keep me informed . I chose to wait on my baby the whole time she was in there and I can gurantee you that even though the parking lot isn't full , they are extremely busy ! I really can't say anything bad about my experience itself here ! The prices are steep but you do have to think, they are emergency/urgent care ! I would say that in case of an emergency, I would bring my baby back here ! The staff was very friendly and informative. I even had calls from the doctor. They sent me home with all the things I would need for aftercare as well ! Also, side note, they have even called me to check on my Rosie girl since leaving!

I've taken both of my dogs here a few times and have had good service. Very expensive, but good. Since they've become an urgent care, as opposed to the emergency care they used to be, they've dropped in quality. My dog recently had a mast cell tumor removed. The incision opened up over the holiday weekend and appeared to be getting infected. Despite saying they were open, they were not treating pets. They told me that they would not see my dog and that if I did show up, they would turn me away. This is terrible service. I'll be asking my vet for other options for emergency care for my pets. If I'm going to pay emergency care prices, I expect good service. MedVet Mahoning Valley is no longer able to provide good service.

How are you going to be an emergency place that turns people away? Also if you change your hours, maybe update your website to reflect it. Very disappointing.

I took my senior dog here with breathing difficulties. Dr. Ryan and all the staff have been consistently helpful, professional and caring, atending to our questions even after checking out. Since we are from out of town, they helped us get a recommendation for specialists in our home city...this office is appreciated and highly recommended.

I talked to vet for maybe 5 minutes. Then after I hung up with her, I thought of a few more questions and I asked to ask her a couple more questions and they said I couldn't that everything would be in the summary. It seemed like the vet and some of the staff, not all, were more concerned with getting out of there on time, than my pet. I was talking to the one girl and she said that the doctor has more patients, which I think was just to get me off the phone because I was I think the only other car left in the parking lot. There should be at least two vets there. It took them like at least 2 hours to see him and then I couldn't even ask the vet everything I wanted to before having to decide to give my dog the medicine or not. It was just a bad experience. Never again!

would not recommend this place and we didn't even go here. After finding a stray dog in Warren with multiple gunshot wounds i called the nearest emergency clinic for help and this was the place closest about 15 mins from us after calling and before getting anything out the lady answered and said they are closed and i asked if they weren't a 24 hour emergency clinic and she rudely replied no we are only open from whatever times. so i explain what happened and she responded I could either go to two place which one was an hour and the other almost 2 hours after telling her the poor dog was bleeding out and it wouldn't make it that far of a drive she then said 'well at least you have a 50/50 shot but you better get moving" i finally was fed up with her ignorant comments and attitude that i hung up and was completely disgusted. needless to say I drove about 45 mins to a place in Cleveland where they didn't blink an eye to help this poor dog and she survived no thanks to the vet clinic! I didn't even want to give this place one star but i had to too in order to post this

I took my 6 year old lab here on an emergency visit and they didn’t run any test, only felt around her and said my dog had back pain. Turns out she had something more serious and life threatening. $300 down the drain for literally nothing. Thankful for Austintown Vet and Akron Metropolitan who actually saved my baby the same exact day.

Absolute joke. Not open when their hours say they are. All the vets in the area say if you have an emergency to call this place, but some good it does when they aren’t even open during their posted hours

Took my male cat here the other day at 7am. Refuse to see him as the were closing at 8 but informed me my cat had a bladder obstruction and need to be seen immediately and proceeded to tell me to drive to their Akron location and hour away for my cat to be treated. Took my cat elsewhere to be treated as I was turn away from an EMERGENCY VET FOR AN EMERGENCY PROCEDURE BECAUSE THEY WERE CLOSING IN AN HOUR.

This is the closest emergency vet hospital to us. When we called, they said they didn't have a dr. Available and to take our cat somewhere else. The receptionist was nice, she gave us some other places to call... However how are you going to be an emergency hospital and not have a dr?

Last weekend my 13 yr old American Bulldog collapsed unexpectedly and the emergency staff couldn’t have been more caring when she was pronounced passed. A week later when my regular vet was closed on the weekend and my 12 yr old lab started limping they saw me right away and now he is on the mend. With covid and curbside service it’s tough but I was in constant communication with the doctor and sweet staff. Thanks to all.

5 hours and nearly $600 to tell me my cat was bleeding from the mouth and give two injections. The vet wasn't scheduled to arrive for 2 hours after opening, so our wait was even longer (we are not local). Why open the clinic to the public without the vet there? We had to state his history several times to at least 3 or 4 people....why can't they get it from the first person we told? The techs were very nice with voice tone and empathy for our concern, but the vet herself sounded flat and fed up. NO DIAGNOSIS. My cat's normal vet was already over-booked with other emergencies.... can't see him til Monday (vet's surgery day so she's making an exception) but kitty started isolating himself today. I doubt he will survive the next 36 hours. Can't stabilize a critically ill kitty if you don't know the underlaying issue.

Hours are not accurate. Just tried to bring my dog there and someone actually picked up the phone saying they were closed. What's the point of calling this place "emergency care" if I can't go when I have an emergency?? Update your hours or retitle your name...

I just heard that med vet will no longer be open 24 hours , i am so disappointed that this is happening, there has been many times, I have had to use there services in the middle of the nite , they saved my puppies eye when she got a stick …

We took our dog here this past Sunday. She got attacked by a dog at the park. The bite was on her left side by her lower leg area. They stitched her up and did surgery on her Monday morning. When we got her back we noticed Wednesday a foul odor we brought her back. They recommend a second surgery we did not feel okay with this. We went else where that place told us because of where the bite mark was located they never should of stitched it they should of left it open. They did more harm to my dog than good. They did not have my dog on a strong enough antibiotic either so the infection was just getting worse. I would give this place 0 stars if that was an option.

One call is all it took. Definitely recommend this place. Never seen me or my buddy before but took me right in. You guys are the best. A half hour drive saved my buddy's life. Money was no object here. Thank you again for seeing me asap

Would not recommend this place. I understand it is an emergency center and that the most critical patients are seen right away. That is a smart way to run a facility like this. However, the lack of communication once my dog was in the facility was beyond poor. I was called three times to confirm what issues my dog was having and then heard nothing for three hours. Then they recommend an X-ray to be safe, which we agreed to. The vet said I will call you back in no more than an hour, and it has been over 2 hours. I had to call for an update and they said I was the next call, that was over an hour ago. I understand things happen and they’re doing their best, but communication with your customers should be paramount, and it certainly hasn’t been like that. We won’t be back.

We have taken our dog here more then once , they are friendly, fast and truly care. It’s the only emergency vet I will ever use!

Would not recommend unless your dog is critically ill. Waited 7 hours (after being told 4-6 initially) from the time we dropped off our dog to taking him home. We had to call for updates numerous times as we awaited information. Would not recommend and definitely will not be going back.

The vet attended to my dog almost instantly and and delivered the hard but necessary news to us in the most professional and caring manner. Even though emergency vet trips are never easy, they made sure my mom and I understood everything that was going on.

Thank you to Medvet Mahoning valley for your help tonight with our puppy Kratos. He went in with a urinary issue and the Doctor and staff were so kind and helpful. I appreciate you and am so grateful for all your help. Recommend this ER 100 percent.

Our previous vet did an abdominal ultrasound and told us she had a couple tumors, but 5 days later she still hadn’t eaten, felt hot and I was worried about her being dehydrated. Called previous vet to just take a look at her to rule out a fever and dehydration and was told, there’s nothing more we can do for her. What??? I’m not looking for a miracle but how can you not want to help me to at least keep her comfortable? Within 9 hours of leaving Med Vet, she was asking for food and has been eating well. She didn’t have a fever, they gave her fluids and an antibiotic. It’s such a peace of mind just knowing Med Vet is here when the other offices are closed. I also tried 6 different local vet offices to get her in to be looked at and NO ONE could or would fit us in. It’s pitiful and scary what is going on with vet offices right now. But Med Vet brings peace of mind.

Absolutely horrible. We showed up at 6pm when they opened. We called, notified them about our pets issue and was told they'll send someone out. 2 1/2 hours and counting are going by and after several cars pulling up after our call in and where taken in before us. We tried asking politely about the status on our wait. They gone back to look for our cat in the building. But our car was still in the car with us! Wow. Then we get asked if we called the right facility. Really? We just talked to you to register us.

My husband and I rushed our dog here after he started seizing. We were terrified and I was a mess. The staff was wonderful and super understanding. They got our sweet boy in quickly and let us know what they were doing every step of the way. The vet called and asked us what we wanted and was super nice and understanding. After a terrible day we had to put our baby down. They let us sit with him and take our time before it happened. I just want to say thank you for helping us with this terrible thing and being so understanding and reassuring.
