My girlfriend and I have taken our 2 cocker spaniels here their whole lives...5 years. I've always been happy with Pine Valley Vet until recently. One of my pups has severe gastrointestinal issues and has been on a prescription food since he was just a few months old. We autoship our dog food from Chewy. Lately there have been issues getting food on time due to shortages. Pet Smart sells our brand of dog food, but you need a prescription to get it. I was running out of food and contacted the vets office to get a copy of his prescription so that I could take it to Petsmart and get a bag to hold him over until the Chewy order came. I spoke with Emily, who told me that she could not provperception. paper copy of the persceiption, and she was extremely rude. I went to Pet Smart and asked them to contact the vet and get the prescription authorized so I could get a bag of food. I called the vets office while I was there at Pet Smart, and again spoke with Emily. She again was very rude and short with me saying there was nothing she could do. I asked her to PLEASE contact Pet Smart and authorize the food, and that I was there now to get it. She told me that they typically don't contact them like that to authorize a prescription. Long story short, Pet Smart contacted the vets office, spoke with Emily, who was also rude to the woman at Pet Smart. Pet Smart immediately printed me off a paper copy of the prescription, apologized for my vets office acting that way, and I was able to get a bag of food. I will NOT be taking my dogs back to Pine Valley Vet. This was absolutely ridiculous for me to be treated this way. My dog had diarrhea for nearly 3 days because this woman simply would not authorize a food prescription. Obviously she was not concerned about the well being of an animal. Shame on you, Emily!!

To be clear - I am writing this on behalf of someone else - back in Mid August a family member of mine brought their dog in for eye surgery that they were told was necessary or the dog would eventually lose his vision. It’s now coming up on 2 months and this dog is still in a cone and coming in regularly because his eyes are worse than before the surgery. Not only can this place not get this dog fixed up but they’re having no problem charging them hundreds of dollars PER VISIT for their own incompetence of not being able to live up to the promise of making this dog better they made months ago. I would never recommend this vet clinic to anyone. They’re clearly just in it for the $$ and not the actual well being of the animals.

Absolutely wonderful experience. Everyone was kind and gentle with my pet. I wasn't sure the treatment would work, but it worked immediately and permanently.

Brought in our turtle a month ago, she was rescued from a home that wasn't caring for her properly so she has severe pyramiding (shell deformity) due to improper diet and lighting, when I asked the vet what her suggestions were for foods she told us just to only feed pellets which after researching is not correct for any turtle, they need a varied diet of many different foods to stay healthy based on species plus supplements like calcium powder. She was very helpful in the medical side of things concerning her health but not husbandry, I hope she is not telling this to every turtle owner. It's a shame because when I've brought my hedgehog here, the other vet was very informed on husbandry and gave a lot of good tips.

They were so gentle and amazing with my lionhead rabbit. They were very kind and answered all my questions, so very knowledgeable! I like that they are still taking covid restrictions to be safe for themselves, the community and even our pets. Thank you again Pine Valley Staff.

So friendly and caring! Affordable but not so cheap you're worried why it's such low prices. Very kind and had a great experience.

The vets at this location are very helpful with my senior Maltese's health problems and explain everything clearly. However, the office is terrible at communication. The phone line doesn't connect half the time when I try to call. If you're automatically on hold, there's no message to let you know if the place is closed. There have been two incidents in three months where all online, Facebook, website, etc. information states they are open when they are actually not. I had an appointment for my dog's shots today, and nobody contacted me to let me know the clinic was closed due to weather. I called ahead with a question and was on hold for half an hour before giving up and messaging them on Facebook instead. I live across town. I can't be driving back and forth fruitlessly just to get basic information like whether the office is even open. Great vets. Terrible communication. If this keeps happening, we will unfortunately have to find a different vet. UPDATE: The staff fit my dog in the day after I posted this review, and (apparently having seen my review) apologized profusely for the problem. However, now I've been trying to refill my dog's Tussigon - a controlled cough medicine - since Friday, with no response from the vet's text line. (Today is Tuesday.) We cut back his doses at home to make it last until a refill, and we're still down to two doses now. I will be changing vets. I know Pine Valley Vet has a great local reputation overall, but that has not been my experience.
