I cannot express my gratitude to Dr Skalos for his genuine compassion, empathy and kindness helping our baby girl Mya cross the rainbow bridge. Our hearts are shattered, but Dr Skalos and his team were so phenomenal Thank you from the bottom of our ????

Unfortunately, I have to agree with other negative reviewers. Dr Skalos was very responsive and kind at the beginning of his practice. Today it is a very different story. We had to reschedule our appointment for neutering due to emergency. I called two days prior to the procedure. I was informed that I canceled in a short notice and that I have to pay another $100 reservation fee. I was hoping that Dr Skalos will call me to clarify this statement. Instead his employee called second time ( DrSkalos was not willing to deal with us) that they insist on another deposit of $100. I am not even mentioning that we had to do two blood tests prior to the procedure due to insufficient blood sample at the first time. We did spent $330 so far and have no positive outcome from the service. I wonder who can afford to deal with clients in this rude manner especially if we have been clients from the beginning of his practice. During these Covid times I believe we should have more willingness to understand the urgency of rescheduling. Please, be aware of this veterinarian practice. I am still in shock how the whole situation was handled by Dr Skalos and his staff. Very unprofessional and negligent.

My 9 1/2 year old bassett had a medical emergency. I called our regular vet, he was too bust to care for him. We called Windrose and they immediately took care of him. They were kind, caring and so sweet with him. He has a new doctor now. Wonderful people, excellent care.

Great respect for your pet and personalized care. Gone are the days of metal exam room tables. Exams are done on the floor with the pet! It keeps them more calm and less stress. LOVE IT!

Windrose was great at the beginning, but we had a very unfortunate incident with them that resulted with the death of our 5 month old chocolate lab puppy. He had developed a limp which didn’t go away after 24 hours. We called the office and a vet tech prescribed adult aspirin (normal dosage every 4 hours) over the phone. We had asked to come in but the tech said aspirin should work. We called 24 hours later when our dog’s health declined and they finally saw us. The vet stated no one from his office should have prescribed anything (especially aspirin) over the phone. Our dog was seen by the vet, but we were reassured that he just needed different medication and would be lethargic for next couple of days. Our dog’s health continued to worsen into the weekend yet we were assured again this was all normal. Come Monday our dog could barely walk and hadn’t eaten for 3 days. We took him in and he died on exam table. Windrose did provide a full necropsy at no charge. However, our main feeling was the delay in care early on (prescribing aspirin) eventually led to our dog’s death. It was one of the worst days of our lives and we were told to call back if we had any questions. Once I had time to digest everything, I called MULTIPLE times asking for more clarity and understanding based on information I received from other vets after they reviewed the report. I WAS NEVER CALLED BACK. I would not recommend Windrose to anyone. It’s very unfortunate bc we did have a great experience at first. However, their lack of concern and follow-up after my countless calls illustrated a true lack of remorse for the animals they serve.

This was my first experience at Windrose Animal Hospital, and it was wonderful. The staff at check in were fast, kind and engaging. My Great Dane pup loved Dr. Skalos. The doc took the time to answer my many questions about my pup. We came up with a great game plan and I fee so confident with Windrose's expertise. I highly recommend ????

We had a wonderful first experience from scheduling through follow up. During our visit, we never felt rushed by the staff or Dr. Johnson. She was very patient with our questions about our cat's health and didn't sugarcoat her answers. We'll be back!

Two days after having 3 teeth extracted, my Romeo kitty is happy and in great spirits. He woke up this morning wanting to play! I’m sure he’s still a little sore, but his appetite is great and he’s eating his soft food like a horse! I’ll take this as a great sign after having 3 teeth pulled a couple days ago. The staff at Windrose are great. I was concerned Romeo ate some string the morning of his surgery (I found him chewing on it) so the Dr made sure to do an X-ray of his stomach before proceeding. Costs of the tooth extraction were much more reasonable than other clinics in the area even with the extra X-ray added. You can call anytime and they’re happy to answer questions. I got updates throughout the day which I appreciated. Romeo was groggy yesterday but that was to be expected. Today, He is back to his usual self and I’m so happy everything is going well for him. I think he’s going to have a smooth & easy recovery. I will be bringing both my kitties here from now on for future check ups & medical needs. Update: Romeo is completely out of pain and I am so happy to see an improvement in my cat. He ate some hard treats today 11 days post surgery with zero issue- he’s healed up. Things like head shaking, excessive drooling, bad breath and wincing when you pet his jaw are completely gone. He knows he’s out of pain too and he’s happier than ever. Taking those teeth out was the best thing for him.

First visit, came highly recommended. I have a rescue cat, Ellie, who was previously abused and very skidish. I talked to them about this. I don't what they did but they were so great with her that she was completely calm and cooperative. This was huge for her. Everyone from desk to doctor were fantastic. Highly recommended! Beautiful, new clean office. Prices are very reasonable.

Windrose Animal Hospital is amazing! I had a last minute trip outside the country and I needed a pet Health certificate. After calling literally every vet in the Allegheny area, and. It getting an appointment because they were either full or unwilling to do an international certificate. When I called windrose Animal Hospital, they understood the urgency and squeezed me in the next day. They handled all the paperwork and we're really friendly and efficient. I'd 100% recommend them. Awesome vet!

Today was my first time at Windrose Animal Hospital in Seven Fields, and it will certainly not be my last. The entire staff is friendly, knowledgeable, and caring. They were able to see my dog, Luna (new patient), within 48 hours of me calling to make an appointment (which is almost unheard of). The Vet was extremely knowledgeable and diligent in her exam of my dog. I would HIGHLY recommend Windrose to anyone!
