We have been going to Captiva Born Reptiles for many years. Terry has always been helpful, knowledgeable and friendly. I would recommend them for any Reptile you may be looking for.

I bought my first sulcata there today!! I learned soo much about it's care and even though I asked a ton of questions Terry was more than willing to answer and even explain if needed. Will definitely be my go to place for my turtle and tortoise supplies and information.

Look this isn’t the fanciest place in the world but if you want a reptile chances are they have it. Knowledgeable and friendly staff. We picked up this sweet little Gecko for a great price, couldn’t be happier with our new guy!

The place sucks. Its dark, sad and the raptiles conditions are awful. Sure it might be an ok place for food(bugs and stuff) but other than that I would not buy any reptiles(of amphibians) from here. They keep the larger snakes in stupidly small enclosures, minimal to no hiding areas for the animals. It smells..Not good. There are newly hatched snapping turtles floating in their own waste in confined areas. They shouldn't be allowed to keep the reptiles as they do, 1/10 I do not recommend.

This is the most disgusting pet place I ever been in the animals here are in very nasty disgusting cages and tanks they even got spider webs in the tanks every time I go in here it makes me sad because I can’t help them

Walking in there I noticed that really wasn't much in the way of animals most of the cages were empty No hides Is for any of the animals way over priced if you know what you're looking at The guy didn't even know what kind of ball pythons he had And clearly didn't know what they were going for He did appear to have a large number of rat and corn snakes So if you're looking for those it would probably be the place to be It have signs up saying no video recording or pictures It's about later that's because hes had problems with fishing game The wildlife department

Easily the worst place I have ever been to. I was interested to see what they had since there’s not many pet stores strictly for reptiles. Walking in instantly broke my heart. Every single animal is malnourished, their water bowls are completely dry, lights/heat lamps (for the very few that had them) were exposed bulbs very close to where the reptiles could easily burn themselves on, and they had nothing in their cages but the bare minimum amount of substrate. Not to mention they have a sign on the door stating they are not responsible if the animal dies after you bring it home. If you truly want a reptile, do not buy from here. Do your research and buy from someone who actually cares for the animals. It is basically a puppy mill for reptiles. Hopefully this place will be shut down soon. I will be making a call to the animal abuse center.

Shame on you Terry. No heat source, wrong substrate, cohabitation, no hides, the list goes on and on. Do NOT support this business, they are the reptile version of a puppy mill. You’ll be lucky if you’re reptile lives

Place is a dump, dark and nasty. Terrible living conditions for the reptiles and amphibians. While they do have neat reptiles I wouldn't buy from them because things don't appear to be taken care of.

I always shop here for rats/mice for my snakes. Lately they have had a rather young looking kid working, looks about 15 or so. I went in and he didnt even look up from his computer game he was playing when I said hi. I asked him for my mice after walking around for a little bit with no greeting or response, and he continued playing his video game after telling me my total instead of taking my money and getting me my mice as I’m standing there holding my cash out for him, and finally dropped it on the counter. Was just very rude and unprofessional in my opinion.

This place should be shut down, made me sick to my stomach how bad the animals looked. Large tegus housed together in super small cages, looked like they had RIs and some were very underweight. Place was disgusting. Was looking for feeders but was scared to even buy anything from the place. Gotta be full of mites and disease. Exposed lightbulbs in the extremely small snake enclosures, a lot of cages had no water and were very dry. Someone needs to do something about that place. Very inhumane. The owner should be ashamed.

Terry is super knowledgeable and prices are good for a local business. Always fun to see what they have in store. Excited to go back now that I've gotten back into the hobby.

Out of all my years of handling reptiles, going to multiple stores, and reptile conventions. I have NEVER seen reptiles in poorer conditions than what this place has them in. This place should be shut down ASAP. When there are signs everywhere telling us not to take pictures or videos they are self aware of the issue at hand.

Extremely poor husbandry. The animals in this store are severely mistreated and miserable. No lights, heat, or even water. If you love reptiles, do not buy from here.
