**ADOPT - SAVE A RESCUE, SAVE A LIFE** This has been one of the BEST adoption experiences we have ever had! Each volunteer & employee was SUPER friendly and helpful! We adopted this love bean Harmony Lillith (aka Lily) formerly known as Gwenny. She's been a joy! Even though she's in her initial quarantine from the other dogs, I'm sure they will get along just fine. Due to the loving care she received at the shelter, our vet was very pleased with her overall health condition. While at the shelter, she was spayed, got her initial shots, microchipped and was licensed for the year as a part of the adoption fee. In the welcome kit they give you, it has great coupons & offers for training and 1 month free of pet insurance should you choose to use that option. The facility itself DOES NOT SMELL IN ANYWAY! I've been to bording facilities that smelled to high heaven, but not here! They use special disinfectants that are animal friendly, yet destroy enzymes! They also have sectioned meet & greet areas. So you can see if the dog is a good fit for you, your current pets and the dog can see if they are a good fit for your family! I love the fact that the dogs have play group to not only encourage socialization, but also for the facility to assess each dogs behaviors & temperament. They feed them a quality diet and have several vets/vet clinics they work with, so each dog gets the care it requires! We will DEFINITELY recommend others to adopt here and should we want to adopt in the future, they will be 1st on our list to go to! If you are looking to add a fur baby to your family, PLEASE check them out! You WON'T be disappointed!

I recently went here looking for a new dog to bring into my family and give my current dog a friend. I was amazed by the facility. Very spacious and clean. The staff was incredible. I learned that they take spectacular care of the dogs with routine walks and play sessions. The dogs have good space in their kennels. They care for dogs in different mental states and work with them to help be more socialized. I ended up going home with a pitt terrier puppy that was just 3 months old and left in a crate on the street with his brother. I was so moved by the facility that I even signed up to volunteer myself to help them out. If you are looking for a new dog, this is the place to go to.

Very clean. The volunteers are super helpful and attentive. Animals look like they are well taken care of after intake. They could always use more volunteers though!

Very clean and helpful staff. Don't particularly care for the set-up for adoptions here, especially the small breeds. You are ALWAYS 2nd in choice for them no matter it seems if they just went up on that day! *Update* ************* Now, I do understand why that may happen if the pet was found or brought in as lost pet it would be only fair to allow those people a 1st choice to adopt if the owners don't claim... ????????????

Staff walks you through every step of the way, dogs seem very well taken care of.

Looking for small dogs. Only saw basically Pitt terriers available

Can’t say enough good things about this shelter!! Adopted my pittie from here a year and a half ago. Started volunteering last month after following them on Instagram (@cuyahogadogs you should follow them if you aren’t already) for so long and always wanting to be a part of it. Best decision I ever made!

Staff is nice and friendly. The place is clean (including the restrooms). Adoption services is reasonably priced too. Save a dog, gain a buddy!

The people here are very nice and helpful. The pets look happy and they take good care of the animals there. When u adopt a animal u get 30 day free insurance for ur ????????

Sad to see so many dogs needing homes. Glad to see workers and dog walkers with smiles. Dogs look cared for and the place is clean. Everyone, stop in if you are looking for a new best friend

The shelter is run by an amazing group of people. We adopted our 2nd dog from the on July 3rd. He is an awesome addition to our family.

I have to write this review for people that get ready to go to this location. Every time I go to this location either one of the staff has a bad attitude or something weird is just going on at this location now I've been to this location to be honest with you all probably 20 times and out of 20 times I've had about 15 incidents with someone at the location and it's two people that work there specifically two females their attitudes are really really bad and they work at that front counter now the rest of location is clean and the dogs look well taken care of to be direct but when you go down there you are not going to find the dog that you want to get simply because the way in which they orchestrate themselves for you to get a pet seems to be a little unorthodox for better lack of words. Every time I try to look for a small dog they say they're gone but when I look on the website they're on the website when they have the small dog area blocked off so you really can't see what small dogs are back there and literally I just went there today so I wrote this review because I turned in a dog that was small I named him AKA speedy now I do have pictures he was a lost and found dog that just happened to walk into my backyard where I live we are not allowed to have more than three dogs but that's neither here nor there The point of me saying that is I turned the dog in I did not want to have three dogs so after about a week of me holding the dog after I reported it to this location I said let me go ahead and call the dog pound and let them come and pick this dog up and take him to the nearest dog shelter now this is a beautiful dog it's a shih Tzu dog and it's beautiful I cleaned it up it was emaciated I felt it I made sure it had it shots and then I send it on to the rescue My problem is they say that dog is not there but it is then they keep saying there's no small dogs but me and a couple members of my family that were in my car waited outside and were watching them walking dogs that were small now I don't know if they have a favorite pic of people but simply put the dogs during the back if they try to say that those dogs need medical attention that's weird because there's dogs that are big that are in the kennels that also say they need medical attention so they can be upfront why aren't the small dogs in the back I don't know what's going on to be honest with you guys I can't put my finger on it I already have two small dogs so I'm not looking for any more small dogs but I was looking for my runaway my speedy the one I had turned in just to see if anybody had picked them up and wanted to adopt him if not I was going to take them back home so I'm sorry for the long review but it's something with that location I just have to be honest I know I'm not the only one but as usual you guys have a blessed day sorry for the very long review I'm still giving them one start because customer service at that location is pathetic absolutely pathetic I will say I never have a problem with any of the males at the location and yes there are many females at the location I do not have problems with but these two specific females that are Caucasian that are at the front desk are absolutely pathetic and that is why I gave this location one star because man you can't get past them to get what you need to get to and I really don't understand am I the only one with the issue

More pictures of doggies and didn't see anything about volunteers but I might have missed it overall great temporary place for animals even cats

Well cared for pooches, nice and cool inside, plenty of room in the kennels, many volunteers walking dogs. Very impressed.

They always have a Perfect dog for my family when we go

The dogs are all wonderful. People who allow these animals to suffer really stink! The staff is rude and clueless. I would not recommend this place to even a dog.
