Animal Clinic of Chardon Chardon, Ohio

I was quoted $400 to get my dog spayed. When I went to get the paperwork a couple days before she was scheduled it was now almost $700 to $800. When I asked why and told them other vets charge around $400 I was told I would be taking them to someone who wouldn’t be doing a good job! I will NEVER take my dog there again!

I would give this clinic less than 1 star if it was possible. Starting taking my 11 year old lab mix here in 12/2020 because my previous vet retired. Told them I had concerns as he was getting older. He was panting, laying around a lot and didn't move as much and it seemed like it happened overnight. I was told he had the startings of dementia and that he had arthritis and it was probably just getting worse. They prescribed trazadone for his dementia related anxiety(the panting) and Vetprofen for the arthritis. Nothing seemed to work, I took him back several times noting something just wasn't right with him. Told them his breath had an odd smell, they said he probably needed a teeth cleaning and I scheduled this for him on May 12, 2021. I brought him in first thing in the a.m. but they didn't put him under for the procedure until end of day (due to other emergencies) they then called me right after to pick him up. He was barely out of the anesthesia. His eyes were huge, he had no idea who I was or where he was. He was in shock and I was horrified. The interen that gave him to me said "i know it looks horrible but he will get better in a few hours". They should have never put him under that late in the day if they didn't have the time for him to wake up correctly. He condition was even worse after that. I did continue to take him there a 2 more times during the summer(which I shouldn't have) the visits were senior visits because as I said I kept telling them something wasn't right. They prescribed more Trazadone, told me I should give to him twice a day. I decided to take him to another vet as I did not feel they were adaquately checking him. As it turns out, he had not arthritis at all!! Verified by X-rays (something they never bothered to do) and no dementia. My poor baby had a tumor discovered by the new vet I went to because they listened to what was goin on with him and actually checked him out. My baby passed away on 11/20/2021. I would not recommend Animal Clinic of Chardon to anyone. I wasted almost a year listening to them when I could have tried to see if he could have been treated possibly by surgery and would possibly be alive today. Even if surgery would not have been possible I still believe that they were very lax in their responsiblity as a vet. The panting was becuase he was anxious, but not because of dementia, it was because he was in pain.

OUTSTANDING! Best Veterinarian Experience Ever. Due to the vet shortages in my area I was ecstatic when I was able to secure becoming a new client . The time and efficient way they brought my fur kids onboard was exemplary. The use of technology by no means takes away from the caring nature and the cutting edge care and time spent . I love Dr. Carolyn and Angela , they set me at ease and treated my “ baby” wonderful.

I tried to make an appointment because they were highly recommend by one of my dogs oncologist. Initially Courtney was very nice. I have 3 dogs . They would not schedule 3 new patient consultation together. Only 2 at a time. Not even consecutively. Have to come on a different day for the third dog. Ridiculous! Apparently she thought it was funny. Don’t want to entrust the care of my babies to unprofessional surroundings. Will find another place who will work with us

The staff always takes A1 care of all my fur babies and lets us know what going on every step of the way.

Awesome caring staff, excellent service.

I cannot say enough about this place. We were on vacation and had an emergency with our dog and they took us within an hour. They treated our baby like they had taken care of her since birth. They called to check up on her the next day. I wish we lived closer because they would be our vet without question.

My dog loves coming here, the staff treat him like family and are very attentive and loving to all creatures. They also has excellent communication concerning appointments and just checking in on your furbaby. We love Dr. Tom, who always accepts my dogs kisses with open arms.

Caring, professional staff. Seems a little pricey, but I don't have anything to compare it to. And besides, you can't put a price on quality care for your 4-foot family members. Very happy with their service. I will be back. Thank you!

WE have been using ACC for over 30 years. Dr. Tom has been our vet of choice since purchasing the clinic from 1st owner. He has the utmost concern for our dog as though it was his own. Highly recommend this clinic.

The employees here appear to be attentive, quick, and really enjoy what it is that they do every day.

I have a 5 month old puppy and today was our first visit. We had a horrible experience at another vet a couple days ago and wanted to get into somewhere ASAP. They were very quick on getting me set up and scheduled to see somebody, they even got all her records for me. My dog has very bad anxiety and they were SO loving and kind to her. They really made her feel welcome and loved. The rooms there almost feel like you’re at a kids doctors appointment! They are very open and had lots of room for Nyla to walk around. I had Nicole and she was the BEST. She answered any questions we had, gave us suggestions and is helping us with Nyla and her anxiety. I am so happy we found a vet that we can trust with our baby. I know nyla is in the best care here now ❤️

Doctors and staff are all amazing. They genuinely care about all the animals they treat and make sure you have all the information you need to make informed decisions.

The whole team is great. All three of my dogs have gone here over the past 10 years. Dr. Tom even got along with my cranky old pup that hated everyone. Highly recommend!

This Animal Hospitial is the absolute best. The doctors are awesome and so are the client service representatives and all the staff in general. They really do care for your animals and are always kind. I have been coming here for a year now and there are just no words for for this place except that it is awesome. One of the things I like most is that they always answer the phone and they always return messages. My point is they deserve your business and they are very fair when it comes to money. One last think they are so good they made me consider going to vet school. THANKS FOR LETTING ME SHARE!!!!

If you need professional quality care for your pet PLEASE take them here! I was taking my dogs to another place and it was fine with just the annual check ups and everything but once my GSD started having issues it started becoming a dreadful problem that they didn't know how to handle. Had many friends recommend the animal clinic of chardon and I finally went. The animal clinic knew exactly how to handle my pups situation in about 5 minutes where my other vet couldn't figure out what to do for months! These vets definitely have a lot more experience than other places and I will 10/10 recommend them to anyone I know now. The receptionist, techs, and doctors are all SO nice and very patient. They have lifted a weight off my shoulders and are finally going to make my fur baby feel better again. And prices, I think, are very comparable to most vets. The only thing I regret is not going to them sooner.

My wife and I very recently had to put our cat, Penelope down. Being very hard to have to do, Kristine and Dr. Carolyn were very kind and patient. Thank you for making sure she was comfortable. On top of that, we received a written card also signed by them and it was very sweet. The level of compassion shown made it easier. Thank you ladies. It meant alot.
