We adopted a kitten a few days before a holiday weekend and sure enough, he developed an upper respiratory infection and couldn’t wait to be seen the following week at our usual vet. I called multiple Emergency vet clinics, who all have staffing shortages, and was thrilled that the staff at Butler Veterinary Associates and Emergency understood and empathized with my non-critical but still urgent situation, and explained their availability, fees and how their daily triage appointments are scheduled. I was able to call back the next morning and get an appointment on a holiday. The care and attention we received was excellent, and all of the staff were cheerful and very helpful.

We brought our sick kitty yesterday. We were told he is fine & she had no concern. He is clearly still lethargic & breathing strange so I called upset and the RUDE lady IMMEDIATELY got loud with me, told me to go else where & hung up on me.. . Did you include this phone call in the notes under my account? Highly doubt it. . Now I have to sit here worried sick for 3 days until we go to our normal vet. ZERO COMPASSION & UNPROFESSIONAL!

On Christmas eve our doberman was bitten on the face by our other dog and it looked like he needed stitches we tried calling several vets all were closed or turned us away we also called pvsec and were told it was a 15 hour wait ( pvsec is all about the money and really doesn't care about the pets) we then called butler veterinary and they told us to come up . We drove the 45 min and were taken in and seen pretty quick considering it was a holiday . The staff was professional and caring and you could tell they cared about our pet . Before we knew it we were on our way home . I would give them 10 stars if I could, this place was great and I definitely recommend them . Thanks again butler veterinary

On a day that was just full of emotional pain, the staff here was incredibly calm and caring. I cannot say enough. We are thankful for the care they gave to one of our kitty family as she was taking her last breaths. They were comforting and very caring through it all. We called as soon as we knew she needed help and they took her in as soon as we arrived and immediately began care. The services they offer to memorialize your lost pets is second to none in all of our experiences. We cannot thank them enough for their kindness. We could not recommend highly enough!! Excellent people.

The employees here were so wonderful I'm our time of need with our Lily. We took her in to make her comfortable as she was having seizures and the compassion they had was amazing. They spoke to us and told us everything that was happening, they stayed with us and shed tears with us. They treated lily with respect. Thank you all for everything ❤

My miniature dachshund needed an emergency C-section. I called around to every emergency vet within an hour and half of me and no one could get me in. I was being told 8-12 hr wait or no surgeon on staff. I ended up calling in tears and Dr Wilson agreed to see Zoey. Let me just tell you, Dr Wilson and her staff are amazing! They got the last puppy out and despite him being in critical condition they were able to save him. Also Dr Wilson took time to explain everything to me before and after the procedure. You can tell these are people that love and care for animals. I honestly cannot put into words how thankful I am. These women are rockstars!

We lost our dog 2 weeks ago. He was only 5. I was letting him outside and before I got to the door he collapsed. About 2 minutes later he was gone. I called my wife and had her hurry home. We didn't know what to do,. This was a Friday evening. so we called BVA. They said to bring him in at 9. This was a Friday evening. I'm thankful they were able to get us in. They were busy. Understandable for an emergency center.. we wheeled him in on a gurney and my wife had to grieve in front of a crowded waiting room. The compassion level was nearly non existent. They asked if we wanted a communal or private burial. I said private. They asked for a good number to call, took my nearly 300 dollars and we were on our way. A week and a half went by and they called my wife. She went in the next day, they come out with a gift bag and said here you go. For 300 dollars, you get a box of who knows who's ashes. When we brought him in, they asked us no questions other than about the private or communal burial. How bout, "sorry for your loss" do you want a paw print" nothing. Well, a guy at work told me they would probably give you a paw print. THAT would have made my wife's day, despite the lack of compassion. Needless to say, the only memory we have is a box. Mind you, this was my wife's first pet ever, we were in shock, and didn't know to ask any questions. They should have been giving us options. He was still warm. For goodness sakes, stick his paw in a mold! We will personalize the box ourselves, and bear some of the responsibilities for not asking any questions while we were mourning, and still in shock at the time we dropped him off. But, sympathy, they had zero at both visits.

We have been bringing our Australian Shepherd Lab mix here for 7 years. They have always been helpful with questions and advice. They send post cards when your pet is due for vaccines and yearly physical.

Very nice employees/staff work here. They seem to genuinely care for your pets. Reasonable prices for an ER Center, and there ability to get you seen is unheard of (in a good way); appreciate their flexibility and patience in working with you during your pups recovery.

I was able to rely on Butler Veterinary Associates when I needed an emergency visit and my regular vet was closed. My elderly dog had been suffering from CHF for years and I felt that he was having issues that couldn't wait. When I got there, the ladies at the front desk promptly called someone who took my dog, Louie, to evaluate immediately. It was done in a way that didn't cause panic and after a vet tech came and took Louie, the girl at the front desk explained that she was a little concerned about Louie's breathing and wanted to make sure he got immediate attention to make sure he was okay. Once I was in a room, the vet came to talk to me. They made sure to get my consent and give costs before providing any kind of treatment. They showed me X-rays and explained everything in great detail. They were very professional and compassionate when telling me that they could attempt to help Louie but they only expected a 25% chance of him making it through the procedures they were willing to try. When I asked about different options, they gave me cost sheets with a breakdown of what they would have to do and how much it would cost. After further discussion about how Louie would suffer, I had to make one of the hardest decisions I've ever had to make which was to say goodbye to my best friend. They were so compassionate. They told me to take as much time as I needed to say goodbye to him. They stayed with me and let me hold him during the process and although we're in the middle of a pandemic, the vet tech gave me a big hug, which is exactly what I needed. I didn't realize it until I was leaving but it was their closing time. Not once did I feel rushed or was I informed that it was time for these ladies to get back to their own families. They sent me home with a beautiful card that everyone at the office signed and two sets of paw prints so that both my son and I could have a set. When I picked up Louie's remains, I saw that he was placed in the most beautiful box. Although this office doesn't have any openings for new clients, I plan to call periodically to try to get my other dog on their books as a regular patient. I highly recommend this office!

Dr Kennedy and the staff saved our dog’s life. They were absolutely wonderful. Our Alli was in a terrible accident and was close to death. She was lifeless when I brought her to the emergency center. Their quick thinking, superior skills, knowledge and professionalism were a miracle!!

My large dog had a Saturday significant foot injury and BVA was able to see him, discuss a solid treatment plan with pricing, then repaired and splinted his injuries quickly. I was impressed with their staff, treatment and the Vet!

If you are looking to admit your dog as a new patient for non-emergent reasons, I would look elsewhere as they are not accepting new patients at this time as they are busy and backed up and they do not know when they will be accepting new patients.

If I could give a lower rating, I would...my mom's pregnant guinea pig was not able to have her babies They said they have 1 vet that will care for guinea pigs, but unfortunately that vet wasn't going to come in to help her. So mom's precious hairless guinea pig died in mom's arms trying to have her babies because we couldn't get her in to a vet...even an Emergency vet...like BVA. So, thank you BVA for not helping mom's Lacey!

I was able to secure a same day emergency visit by contacting the office first thing in morning. From that point, everyone (receptionist, technician, Veterinarian) were very pleasant, caring and professional. The Vet explained things well including the costs and answered any questions. Service was quick. I would not hesitate to take my dog or cat here!

I was traveling when my dog got hurt. I arrived when they opened on a Saturday morning and did not have an appointment. The staff saw my concern and discomfort in my dog and quickly accommodated us. I waited less than 15 minutes before seeing the doctor. X-rays were needed and the doctor spent time explaining the results. The whole staff was professional, caring, and very accommodating. I’m thankful for the quick and thorough care that we received.

I had spent the past 3 days running around like a chicken with its head cut off trying to get my dog seen at an emergency vet and i called butler and they were able to get me in 7pm last night. As soon as my dog and I walked in the door all the staff was attentive and ready to help. Dr. Allen is very nice and professional and kept me posted during the entire process. I will be taking my dog here as his regular vet now. 10/10 recommend this place!

We used the emergency clinic and were there for just over an hour and a half. But in all fairness it was the emergency services and my Bella's issue was not necessarily an emergency, but due to not being able to get her into her vet for the weeks made an er visit necessary. Also, or appointment was scheduled for 11:00pm. All of this said, the visit went well. We were treated with respect, she was thoroughly checked out with tenderness and care. All of my questions and concerns were addressed in "plain" speak and when technical terms were used, they were explained without me having to ask. We left feeling confident that Bella would be feeling better soon. I am happy to say that in less than 48 hrs she is almost back to her normal. It does take longer than two days for ear infections and skin issues to clear up, but they gave her medication to keep her comfortable through the process. Thank you very much Butler Veterinary Associates for taking such good care of my Bella!

My dog got bit and they said sorry you need to schedule an emergency appointment and we are booked.... nice caring for an injured animal. Can't really schedule an emergency if you don't know it's going to happen.
