Dr. Murray is the best veterinarian my cats have seen. I initially chose Heartwood years ago because they are AAHA accredited and certified cat friendly, but I stay with Heartwood because of Dr. Murray. (For context, I have seen vets in a few different towns and cities over NC, as well as vets at NC State). I like that there is a separate cat side and the exam rooms have feliway plug ins, low lighting, and wall-mounted cat shelves. I appreciate the effort to create a more calming space for cats. The staff also seem to understand that cats prefer softer voices. Dr. Murray took excellent care of two of my senior cats. He performed surgery on one of them and she recovered well. I also brought her back to him a couple of years later when she got sick despite it being over an hour drive because 1.) Heartwood does ultrasounds and the vet I was seeing closer to home did not, 2.) I was not getting answers and my poor baby was suffering. Dr. Murray helped us make a difficult decision but it was the right one. My new cat is younger and just saw Dr. Murray for the first time after we moved back closer to Heartwood - but it’s still a 35-40 minute drive. I was impressed with his understanding of her issues and suggestions to help her with them. I trust him and know that he’s always recommended what’s best for my cats. I also got a loyalty discount for this visit and I saw that they now offer a dental plan that makes it easier to pay for dental care.

My little puppers got sick and this awesome veterinary clinic took me in with a couple hours notice they were very nice their prices were pretty darn good and the doctors seemed to be genuinely interested in my dog getting better. I will definitely recommend them and will probably choose them over choose them over the clinic closest to my home. Although I have to say that the cat neutering fees are a lot here.

We absolutely love Heartwood have been using them for about 5 years now.

Everyone here has been so helpful. They treated my cats and myself with respect. Dr. Sheppard was amazing with both my anxious cats. Super knowledgeable, taking the time to explain and answer all of my crazy cat mom questions.

Takes very good care of our dogs well worth the money

Health visit for 8 week old kitten. First time customer. Separate waiting room for cats. Staff were friendly. Dr. Landa was courteous, available to answer questions. Treated kitten tenderly. Explained suggested treatment plan and costs. I felt comfortable taking kitten there and he ventured out of his carrier on his own.

Just came here very briefly to get my stray cat checked for a chip. They came out to the car which was awesome so I didn't have to drag the cat plus my two kids in for a 2 minute visit. The vet tech checked him thoroughly for a chip - none so I guess he's mine now

I absolutely love this vet. I took my girl Roxie to them and ended up having to put her down. But they let me come in and be with her during the process even though covid was at it's peak. They were very comforting and gave me all the time I needed to say goodbye to my baby. They helped me when I had to pay for the visit. I didn't have quite enough to pay for everything and they made sure I was able to get my girls ashes returned to me even though I couldn't afford it

We wouldn’t trust our pets to be left anywhere else while we travel. Dr Murray and his team are the best around for care of your animals.

Thank you Heartwood Animal Hospital for taking excellent care of my fur babies!! Everyone here is professional, kind, and truly care about my pets. I have taken both my cats Gideon & Gilbert and my dog Hunter to see Dr. Murray & Dr. Landa and had great experiences both times for annual check ups and vaccines. The Drs were very knowledgeable and patient with me answering all my questions. Then when my pup got sick, they were able to accommodate us the same day and within a few days (with meds and extra lovings) my pup was better. The staff was also amazing because my special pup that is terrified of strangers seemed fine going in and out with the vet tech during drop off/pick up (due to covid-19). Plus I even got a follow up call the next day to check up on my sick pup. So many good things to say about this place and I will recommend them to anyone looking for a vet.

So far so good even though the bill can become a bit expensive but over all they treated my babies like one of their own.

Excellent people! We have been working through lymphoma with our sweet pup and the team at Heartwood has been so awesome. They are so caring and reliable. Dr. Murray explains things so nicely. I never feel like I am being rushed or "just another patient". They have been amazing through all of our pups treatments. We also boarded the pups there while we were on vacation. Dr. Murray is so knowledgable and will consult other experts when necessary to find the best treatment for your pups. He is the real deal! Truly cannot say enough good things about the people at Heartwood. We also felt that the pricing was fair/honest. (Dr. Murray even found a more financially friendly route that our previous vet never mentioned....) Take your pets to Heartwood!

Love this place, I have 3 dogs, and they are awesome with them. My oldest Cora get excited when she sees the building and my 2 Rottweiler puppies just visited and did great.
