Please, please don’t buy any snakes from here. My sister and her husband purchased a ball python from Tony who owns this shop and one other one. She ended up having a deadly contagious respiratory infection that they weren’t made aware of before getting her.. they have 15+ other snakes and now over half, if not all of them have the same thing. Two more just passed away. All because the ball python they got from Tony was sick

Had what i wanted, although more expensive than other places.

Went in to look for a fish, but ended up browsing the store. We have purchased many different items from this store in the past. However, we will no longer be returning to this store again. We noticed a green tree python in the back of the store that was severely dehydrated and I wouldn’t be surprised if it were dead. These snakes require humidity, and water- which it had none of. All of the reptiles foods were dried out, and the living conditions were poor. I understand that it’s a pet store that has a lot going on, but I visit Pet Paradise in VA Beach and they take excellent care of their reptiles and pets. Instead of the employees being gathered in the front doing nothing, spend some time on the animals and their enclosures.

The day staff is very knowledgable and friendly. Was very helpful and went above and beyond to help me achieve what I was looking for and wanted. She made that achievement happen. Thank you. The evening staff was very friendly but quite young. Some knowledge but not well , in small animals and care. I knew more. However that doesn't affect my positive experience there. Very nice and clean store. Highly recommended.

Good service. Jus be careful you may see live critters in your items. ie. Crickets in your heating lamp

Used to be a very good store but lately it seems like they are always out of quite a bit of products and things are pricey here compared to other stores. The store itself seems a little rougher lately and the caged animals look like their cages need to be tended to more often, I understand it's just temporary but they should be comfortable for the time being; especially when some are nocturnal and are kept under bright lights or need wheels to run on but don't have one in their already small box.

It's a little dark and dingy, lots of flies, but I know that kinda comes with the territory. Could use a facelift and a good scrub.

It smells terrible when you walk in. They have a large turtle inside as a store pet and there are tons of flys in the store from it.

Personal service, and great care and handling of their animals

It's feel strange to review a Pet Store, but bare with me here. First, I went to Pet Zone on a random Sunday afternoon because my daughter asked. We go in and....it's a pet store. It appears by all accounts to be a normal pet store. Some birds, rodents, reptiles, and lots of fish. But as we walk in we are greeted by the shambolic shuffling of a tortoise. This tortoise is quite large too. It seems a small thing but their was something novel and charming about a tortoise making a slow, calculated path around the store. (She did this the entire time we were at the store and it was a pleasant surprise each time she rounded a corner or attempted to walk under the shelving or ladder). Next, we find ourselves in a corner near a large blue parrot and a cockatoo. The large blue parrot, whom we later learned is named Merlin. belts out a comical "Hi". Merlin then proceeds to wave "hello" with his little foot and majestically display his each wing, one at a time. This was repeated several times, to the delight of my family. We then spent the next 45 minutes browsing the fish, reptiles, spiders, scorpions, rabbits, birds, ferrets, etc. All well maintained and labeled appropriately. There were a couple of young ladies working there who were very knowledgeable and willing provided information about the animals. Pet zone is like a modest zoo where, if you want, you can buy the animals. They don't even charge to see the animals. However, after nearly an hour (possibly more) we felt compelled to buy some items. Best zoo on the Pennisula, would go again! 10/10.

My daughter loves going to see the animals. They have a wide variety of them.

They had a very wide range of pets you could get, I'm only giving 4 stars because there was crickets hopping around the floor when i went & I know a lot of people are afraid of crickets so beware. I was fine though. They do have centipedes but NO MILLAPEDE so minis 1 star for that. Some animals are also not for sale which was annoying. Cashier was wonderful

Dirty. Items were sunbleached. Not competitively priced- At least not the items we were looking for. It wasn't like this when they first opened.

Did not purchase anything–was honestly incredibly disheartened by the conditions in which the reptiles are kept. A dead baby Savannah monitor, several water bowls either dirty or totally dried up, several animals with fairly severe nose rub spots, some kept with way too many other animals in enclosures much too small for one of them, let alone 5-7. Broke my heart.

Lots of fish and reptiles, everything you need for a dog or cat. Fun environment. Giant Tortise and parrots.

I'm happy with the ferrite we purchased. My 4 year old son gives him a new name everyday. We purchased the large ferrite and it was a bit pricey with the cage and all three accessories. Spent a less than 600 dollars on everything including the ferrite.

I don't know if something happened here but I loved this place and then a few months of owning my fancy bear hamster she died and I got a new one a couple of weeks later and then he died and all my brothers fish died from here. And my friend got a crested gecko here that lived one week...so maybe come here for the supplies not the animals

I stopped at pet zone to get a couple feeder rats and was helped by Dez who was absolutely fantastic to us and got us exactly what we needed right away. That girl needs a promotion!

I absolutely love coming here, won't go to a different pet store! Jaimee helped me out a lot when I got my cats for the first time, and she is my go to person when I have a question!

I went into the store with my family yesterday to get a few things for my dog and just browse around. The employees were extremely disrespectful and when I asked a simple question at the register, the employee helping me answered with attitude and sass. I felt judged and unwelcome. Will not be returning to this location ever. If you want a comfortable shopping experience with help, do not come to this location.
