Southside Animal Hospital Winston Salem, North Carolina

I took my puppy there for shots starting 15 years ago and continued there, including boarding, until he recently had to be lovingly euthanized. Nothing but quality care from beginning to end. Probably not the cheapest, but no-nonsense quality vet care is seldom if ever cheap. My dog was never scared to go in; he got excited once he figured out where we were headed, and usually rushed to the door. The staff is friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful. I haven't decided whether to get another dog, but if I do, I know where to take it.

They took in a little box turtle that my dog got ahold of, free of charge- and no judgement at all- and they took hi. Right away! Lovethis place!

I am a client of this vet. My dog was in pain and needed to be euthanized. Called for an appointment and it was going to be a week before they can euthanize my dog. They said they were booked up. Is this good service?

We recently moved away from Winston-Salem and we can say without a doubt that we will miss Southside Animal Hospital. Dr. Emerson is no nonsense and straight to the point, which we always appreciated. We love every staff member there and they were nothing but kind to us for all the years we went there. Our entire family also takes their animals here and we couldn’t recommend them enough.

The ladies there are so nice and friendly. They are great at what they do.I would recommend them to anyone.

Outrageous prices like most vets today. Really sad how the average person cannot afford to give medical treatment to their pets because prices are so incredibly high.

Southside Animal Hospital has taken great care of my Chihuahua DJ since 2007! I am COMPLETELY satisfied with their services!

Knowledge, caring Staff. Knowledgeable Doctor. Old school, not the best bed side manners, however he is a skilled and gifted Doctor! He and his staff have done right by my Fur-Baby Daughters. Pricing is Fair. Recommend, yes I absolutely do! The 4 stars, well I already mentioned that above. *And remember always give an honest accurate review.

They squeezed me in while I was freaking out about my cat. They did everything they could for her and really seemed to care. I hate covid cuz i couldn't go in with her but that's not their fault

My cat got a kidney infection only about 2 weeks after she was in for an exam and shots... thankfully they saved me money but giving me an rx without another full exam. Very pleased with the office staff as well... very kind, knowledgeable, and friendly.

The people and care are super here. It does get a little awkward with the cost side of things as there are always things that are being added to the bill. It's not big chargers, but You feel a little like you are getting addon fees. They do ask you for your budget, which is good, and like I said they are great people. Just confirm the things being charged and if you have a budget make sure to let them know.

Dr. Emerson is the best! Robert in the office is an angel! They treated my little honey (cinnamon ferret) and Dr Emerson himself called to check on her after her appointment a week later. Great service, I will be back for check ups! Highly recommend if your an exotic pet owner ????

While shopping for a new vet I considered this vet. The office was so incompetent that I walked out. I assume High School kids are the staff.

Absolutely the most Compassionate Vet and Staff you could ever hope for. Dr. E is thorough and humble. If he is faced with something unusual he has No Problem reaching out to colleges for answers. He sees A LOT of Wildlife for us, and is presented with various injuries, conditions, and potentially Zoonotic diseases. Never once has he acted like he was superior or talked down to me. He ALWAYS listens to my impute. We respectfully agree and disagree. He is direct without being overbearing. His staff is Superior and have been with him for as long as I can remember. That in itself speaks volumes!! I ADORE this Man and his Staff!!!❤
