Forsyth Human Society is a very nice place to adopt a pet. I recently adopted a little cat named Jamie from here, and everyone there was very helpful with the adoption process. They even gave us a little Christmas stocking with some toys and things to get him started. Jamie is a really sweet and playful cat who immediately acted like he had always lived with me. Also, the building is very clean and well kept, and was decorated nicely for Christmas. 10/10 would recommend going here to adopt a pet.

Worst location ever! Staff is very rude and fake! Very closed minded to! Do not work with their dogs either. Will lie to your face. Overall worst experience. I would rather buy from someone or support a better pound. Also when you tell them the issues with the pet they don’t care and fail to tell the next person the truth on them make you look like a liar. I’m so done with this shelter. The sad thing also is that a lot of their dogs are ver skinny. One worker she tried to give us a dog that was in very poor health to us and we were going to have to pay for all the vet bills when they should take better care of their dogs they have a medical them on site! Shows how much they take care of the animals there. Penny was the dogs name that was in such poor shape.

Rhys place is a blessing. I got my car from here and I couldn't be happier. I live how many animals get a second chance through the humane society. If you'd ever want an animal please, adopt from these people.

I am an animal lover & I believe that animals feel love, pain, rejection, & abandonment. The Humane Society is the best organization for saving animals. You can adopt a fur baby which is accentually the same process as adopting a child. They will make sure that you have everything your fur baby needs before you can adopt. I try to give as much as I can when I can because I believe in the work they do.

They act like the dogs are there to be trained for in the house but feces in their enclosures. I bought from a individual instead. I normally go to a shelter but this was too exhausting.

I decided to foster kitties in need. Picked up a little beauty named Bentley. She is the sweetest little girl. Loves to give kisses. Good cause, very helpful staff.

My first time at the new facility was July 31 2021. It was so different from the Miller St. location. Spacious, more kennels, great meet and greet area, etc. It gave me more purpose to keep being a member to help them carry on their mission. That day I adopted a dog that had just been returned. The 3th day of having this dog was so very stressful and emotional. She refused to stop jumping on me and biting my hands in a very rough way but playful at the same time. I knew I would have to return her. I called the shelter, left a message while in tears. That night I left her outside (comfortable and a fenced yard) all night. The next morning I let her back in the house. She was a totally different dog. It's like she knew she was being returned. It was just 7 days and I already gave up on her. The FHS called back ASAP and spoke with me. I realized then that "Noble" was not going back. So off I went to the store to purchase items that was needed to help, not to replace attention, affection, training. My review is to let people know that the FHS is there afterwards if you need them and to remember (like I had to do) don't give up too soon, you get what you give.

I adopted two senior bonded cats. The Forsyth County humane society is a wonderful, caring, temporary place for cats needing homes. They take wonderful care of the cats here, providing veterinarian care, human touch and love. They have so many beautiful loving babies that need loving homes. June is an amazing volunteer at the Shelter and helped with my adoption decision. Thank you so much! I couldn't be happier.❤️

It's a very nice place with good a staff. Needs a little bigger sign out front because we went by twice before we called and asked.

Our family fostered both cats and dogs for the Forsyth Humane Society since November 2020. During this time, we came to realize the disorganization, abysmal leadership, and lack of empathy the organization often has. They frequently ignored our emails or questions about the animals we were caring for. The last dog we took care of had the makings of a great family dog except for the fact she did not like other dogs. After 4 months in our care she was taken back to the shelter without reason and then two days in they decided to EUTHANIZE her because she got into a dog fight. We made it EXPLICIT to them that she should not be with other dogs and yet they CARELESSLY let it happen anyway. Even after reaching out to them several times they did not let us adopt her. She deserved a second chance. We will NEVER take any animal to the Forsyth Humane Society or foster ever again.

They are so full and in need of fosters, they couldn't take a stray dog we tried to bring here.

I got a dog from here once and it was a great dog! (Pit bull boxer mix) and he (his name was Marco) was great but my friend fell in love and we gave him to her and their living happily together still!

I'm a little disappointed at the service that this place provided me and my husband. My Husband & I wanted to add another fur member to our family so we decided to submit an application. we did receive a quick response back once we submitted our application which was great and we were very excited!. We spoke to Erin about a dog we were interested in but she recommended another dog which was fine because this other dog (Gary) is his name, looked so much like a dog my husband previously owned ( he had to be put down due to having cancer unfortunately) so my husband felt like it was meant to be. Erin told my husband that she would reach back out to us once she got in contact with the Gary's foster parents and she will get everything set up to where we can come and get him in a couple of days! we told all our family about receiving a new dog and then we NEVER heard back! we called the place and left voice messages multiple times and could never get a call back. we figured maybe the foster family wanted to keep the dog but a call back would've been nice at least!

Came by with intentions to buy a pet for the family. Showed up and was told you have to make an appointment. I guess they really don’t want animals adopted. Seems ridiculous that they would turn a family away ready to adopt and take home a dog or cat. Shame on you Forsyth county humane society.
