We just adopted Auggie from Carolina Canine Rescue and could not be happier. Auggie is well a adjusted puppy and fit right in. Carolina Canine was really easy to work with and helped arrange last minute transportation for Auggie when our travel plans fell through. Great experience.

The approval was a little slow coming, but totally worth the wait. My sister and I ended up adopting 4 puppies (all brothers) through the rescue. Due to covid their transport is down but these pups are so sweet and loving, they were worth the 5-6hour drive there and back. They slept most of the ride and were some of the best dogs I've ever had the pleasure of driving with. They didn't make noise other than a cute yawn sound. When we got them to my house they wanted to check out the cats and one of them barked but they didn't seem like they were trying to be agressive. The two that stayed with me have been good with the cats, no growling or barking. I didn't hear them bark at all until our neighbors dog barked at them first. However, they learned really quickly to ignore it. They are so incredibly smart and they are off the scale adorable ♡ If you're patient I would totally suggest this rescue.

We highly recommend Carolina canine rescue. We adopted our dog “Jake” on December 17th 2021. The process was simple and they worked with us to make sure we were a good fit for Jake. You need to be patient. These people do this important work as volunteers so they do have real lives and may not be able to get everything done as quickly as some city run shelter, or a breeder where the staff is actually paid to do the work. The process may take 7 or 8 days but it’s worth it! We found the best way to contact them is through email. I recommend you check in with them if you don’t hear back in 7 days (that’s what we did) to let them know just how much you want to adopt your new best friend. I am happy we decided to adopt from a small rescue organization rather than a large shelter. I think the fact that Jake came from more of a foster home environment rather than some huge shelter with dogs everywhere, barking and afraid in cages made his transition to our home much easier on all of us. Carolina canine made it easy for us to pick Jake up and gave us a few great tips on how to work with him and help him acclimate. They also work with drivers that will deliver your dog to you but we wanted to make sure Jake would get along with our one and a half year old pup before we brought him home. We let the boys meet each other on neutral ground and they are the best of friends now. He has been with us for a little over a week now and it feels like he has always been a member of the family. He had been neutered and was up to date on all of his shots. We were given all of the history and paperwork we needed to get Jake checked in and registered with our vet. He passed his checkup with flying colors! Our best friends operate a Lab rescue so we know how hard these people work to save dogs and make sure they find their forever homes. We lost our dog of 12 years when she passed a few months ago and we were ready to share our love with someone who needed us just as much as we need him. Thank you Carolina canine! Gary Morton

Melanie really puts her heart into this rescue they're very compassionate to the animals answer the people who adopt the volunteers Rock and everyone there pour their heart and soul into improving overpopulating of pets by giving information on spay and neuter and offering low-cost spay and neuter they also put everything they have into improving the community buy off offering there's help with local charities they would love to add any special edition to anyone's home

The transportation that Melanie recommended was great Walt he was concerned about Bonnie had us put her in the back so she could run. Stayed too visit for awhile and is a very responsible man. It truly was a great experience ty.

We were looking for a dog and when we went to this site we found two sisters that really got our attention. The site said they were bonded and that they hoped to find someone to adopt them both and keep them together. We did so and have been SO happy we did. I LOVE the fact that Carolina Canine Rescue went above and beyond to keep these girls together. They responded to my application quickly, kept in touch with me while we worked out the details, and followed up with us more than once after we received them. They have a reliable and wonderful person who does transporting for them as well. We were very pleased. Thank you again Carolina Canine Rescue!

Regarding the rescue's response, my problem is not so much that Ollie had dental issues or even how much the dental work cost, but that the group NEVER mentioned they were aware that he required extensive dental work before we adopted him. We only found out that they knew this when I went through all the paperwork in Ollie's adoption packet AFTER picking him up. They just put the vet's note in a manila envelope and never said a word about it to us. Did they not "purposely try to hide that information" from us? Maybe not, but a reputable rescue should disclose all health information they have to potential adopters so they can determine if they have the means to properly take care of the pet. THAT'S the problem: not that Ollie had dental problems but that the rescue knew he needed extensive dental work and said nothing. // Update: I'm removing 2 stars as the rescue did not disclose the major dental issues Ollie came with, which they were aware of as his paperwork included a quote from their vet that mentioned the extent of his dental problems. Luckily we were able to afford the unexpected $1500 expense, but I find the omission of this information to be highly unethical. Bottom line, ask LOTS of questions before you decide to adopt from this group. Make sure there aren't any medical issues that they aren't being transparent about. Despite my displeasure with the rescue, Ollie has become a much-loved part of our family and we wouldn't trade him for the world. // We have contacted a few rescue groups in search for a dog over the past few months, and we found CCR to be one of the few that are actually responsive to potential adopters. We submitted our adoption application on a Saturday, and our application was approved by that Monday afternoon! Melanie quickly answered any questions we had and made the adoption process very easy. My only issue is the adoption fee was not provided up front either on the website or the approval email, but was quickly disclosed when I asked for it. We're so happy we found CCR, and am happy to say our pup has quickly adapted to his new home and fur family! Thank you Melanie and CCR!

Carolina Canine Rescue was the most responsive rescue organization I have worked with in the search for our ideal rescue dog. I submitted an application on Sunday, received approval Monday, heard from and spoke with Conrad’s foster mom Tuesday and by Tuesday evening “mom” and Melanie had everything worked out for us to drive halfway and pick up Mighty Quinn, AKA Conrad. What a great experience. And such a Great (Pyrenees) outcome. Quinn is sweet, affectionate, and thinks he’s at the spa when he gets brushed every day. There’s no doubt that CCR worked very hard in only a few weeks to transform the rib-showing, flea infested homeless dog they truly rescued into the sweet, clean dog that we are lucky to call ours. We love you Quinn! One more thing, the $375 we gave CCR wasn’t nearly enough to cover all of the services they provided. Thank you CCR and Conrad’s caring foster parents. You’re the best!

I contacted them twice about a puppy for my special needs daughter who is 14 years old to which on their website they say that their pets are already special needs adapted but after filling out 2 applications and being denied I will not bother for a third time. And to think someone recommended them to me. They must already promise puppy’s to others because I can’t understand why they wouldn’t want to give my special needs daughter a puppy. Save yourself the time snd trouble they will not pick your application. And they don’t bother to check references either. I should have paid close attention to the other reviews. Beware of this place and don’t even waist your time applying, your application will not be chosen. Thanks a lot Carolina Rescue!!!!!✌????????

My puppy was very healthy. I could tell she had been treated good. She is very lovable and fitted in our home nicely with her other siblings. Our 11 year old cat is her play mate.

We recently adopted Alexis, now Piper, from Carolina Canine Rescue, from the application process to the delivery of Piper to my home, this process was a breeze. The adoption fee was reasonable, and the fee to deliver her from North Carolina to Cleveland, Ohio was more then fair. I highly recommend adopting from them.

We recently adopted a dog from Carolina Canine Rescue. The description of the dog was perfect and he has met all of our expectations and more. The application process is online and communication is only via email. Melanie responded in a timely manner. The foster dad was very responsive and helpful in determining if the dog was a good fit for our family. We used Walt (recommended by Melanie) to transport our new dog to our house. He was great with the dog and texted to let us know the status of his arrival and how the dog was doing. We are very happy with the adoption process and our new dog.

I recently adopted a new fur baby from Carolina Canine Rescue. It was a wonderful and easy process from beginning to end. Melanie is professional, organized, helpful, truly dedicated. She responds to emails quickly. The foster mother really knew her dogs. She was honest and shared good advice as to how to make the dog’s adjustment to a new home a positive experience. Melanie recommended a gentleman, Walt, to transport the dog to New York. He was a lovely person. Great communication. Before he left on his trip, he sent 3 pictures of my new dog. He told me how she was doing a couple of times on the trip. He called before he arrived. He was prompt and very caring. I would highly recommend using this organization. It was obvious that Melanie, the foster mother, and Walt want nothing more than the best for the dogs they save. My new furry best friend is a happy, healthy, well adjusted sweetheart! Thank you, CCR.

We recently adopted our second dog from Carolina Canine Rescue. We could not be more happy. I was able to speak with the Foster Mom regarding his behaviors. She knows him perfectly. He has settled into our family very well as we have two other dogs. We also needed to have him transported and that went very nice as well. Blessed with our new rescue.

The only communication I received was an automated gmail that my application was received. I responded saying any puppy in that litter would be fine. The information on their website is false. I never received communication that i was approved or denied, after 7 days I reached out. I was told the puppy I was interested was adopted, nothing about the others availability. Phone calls are not an option. If she is too busy to answer the phone you would think she has more time to dedicate to saving lives. Very unprofessional.

Been calling and emailing daily for a full week now. No response on any platform. If this gets you to actually respond I'll consider taking down the poor rating

We adopted our newest addition from Carolina Canine Rescue and couldn’t be happier with our experience! When emailing them we got a quick response. Their adoption questionnaire and application process was easy to get through and they were willing to answer any questions I had. I felt confident that they weren’t just giving the dogs to anyone when I knew they were reviewing my application and calling my vet to check on it. They are certainly a reliable and competent adoption organization and I would recommend them to anyone looking for their new pack member! My little pup was also well taken care of before picking her up, which speaks to their level of commitment and care.

We adopted our little guy from Carolina canine rescue 3 weeks ago and it was a very good experience. They took good care of him for over 2 months and got him vet care and neutering, so I thought the fee they charged was more than reasonable. We only live 35 miles away so we got go visit him before adopting and bring him home. Adopting from a rescue group close enough to drive to is highly advisable , as we have done that with at least 5 different rescue groups over the past 20 years. Carolina canine rescue is as good as any of the other rescue groups we have ever used. We thank Carolina canine rescue and all the other rescue groups for all the work they do to help the pups.

The next time I am ready for a new pup I will definitely check with CCR again! My initial inquiry to a posted picture was answered quickly and courteously. The application was sensible and approved in a timely manner. I was invited to speak with the foster. All written and verbal descriptions of the dog's characteristics were truthful educated best guesses and I felt everyone's concern was not just to get a match but to find the best match for the dog and adopter. The usual transport was NA due to the pandemic however CCR referred me to a private carrier who was equally pleasant, responsive and professional. CCR maintained a manageable agenda throughout the process. The forms were well worded and expectations clear. IMO everyone who I came into contact with had their hearts and methods in the right place for good outcomes. My new dog required consistent work our first week together and she was every bit worth it - we are very happy!!!

Melanie from Carolina canine rescue was very quick to respond to all my questions and my initial application. When we went to pick up our pup, the transition was very easy. Melanie gave us the records and has responded to questions even after getting our dog. We had an amazing experience adopting from this rescue and highly recommend. We also appreciate that they don’t just let anyone have these dogs and ensure they are going to good homes where they will be cared for well.

We adopted a dog a few weeks ago. Our application was reviewed quickly, the coordinator was responsive and helpful, the foster parents were informative, and they connected us with a lovely man to transport our new family member. It all went so smoothly that we were afraid it was a scam! We could not be happier and more grateful. Thank you!
