I love Dr Dixon & his lovely assistant, Rita (if I remember correctly...). He took over the practice when his father retired. He cares 4 larger animals like cows, horses, sheep, etc @ local farms as well so he isn't always available@ his office which is on the right when u start going up the hill on S Main St near where Silas Creek Pkwy ends. He is available n the office there from 8A-10A & 4P-6P on Mon, Tues, Thur, Fri & from 8A-Noon on Wed & Sat but the office is open & u r able 2 swing by or call & speak with Rita anytime between 8A-Noon (closed 4 lunch Noon-2P) & 2P-6P M, T, Th, F & from 8A-Noon Wed & Sat. Rita is wonderful @ remembering ur name as well as the name of ur pet even if u haven't been there n over a year! And she is a whiz @ looking up all ur info n just a few seconds. It doesn't take Dr Dixon but a min 2 look @ ur pet & determine what's wrong & what action should b taken & will happily spend as much time as u need 4 him 2 explain the issue or course of treatment needed. They r both kind, caring, sweet, helpful & patient individuals. If u need a vet & Dr Dixon just happens 2 b out of the office & u can't wait they r happy 2 refer u 2 another local veterinarian or u can leave a msg on their answering machine. U can make an appt or walk-in anytime during business hours which is what I usually do & I've never had 2 wait longer than 10 mins. I just had 2 take my Pitbull, Sweetie-Pie, last wk. Upon arrival Rita held the door open 4 us with a beautiful smile & we entered the always clean office where they have their office mascot (a pretty kitty) wandering around & she let the Dr know of our arrival.... He immediately entered the room & listened 2 my concern & within 2 mins he was typing on the computer, handing me some medicated eyedrops & explaining that my dog had contracted conjunctivitis (Pink Eye) & how I should proceed from there. While he was doing that, Miss Rita was n the office next door looking up Sweetie's record & told me what she was behind on. We got her caught up on all her shots as well & Dr Dixon did it so quickly that my dog barely even noticed...no whining crying or trying 2 get away @ all. Then we were ready 2 go back home. All of that took less than 15mins & our bill 4 everything including the medicine was only $90! Another big plus when choosing 2 come here....they don't overcharge u ridiculously high prices 4 anything or try 2 get u 2 buy things that ur pet doesn't need bc they aren't doing it 4 the $....these people care about ur pets just like u do! My family has been going 2 Dixon Animal Hospital since his father was the vet here & we will continue 2 do so....I suggest u do the same!

We have always enjoyed bringing our dogs here. Dr. Dixon is not talkative by any means, but he is a busy man. But any questions you have he will answer. He helped us out a bunch and will always appreciate his hard work as well as Reda's!

Heard good things haven't had to take a pet there yet so I'll let you know

Dr. Dixon is very matter-of-fact, so he's not much for conversation but he's very good with the animals. We use him and recommend him.

I would not take my dogs anywhere else Dr. Dixon is the best there is he really cares about your pets and does a fantastic job with them.

Always takes care of my fur baby. Only one person on at a time. All required masks.

Called and whoever answered the phone seemed to be very uncaring and dismissive. Was cut off while speaking, not helpful at all when already under stress for having a sick dog. Was turned away with no explanation.

I first called to get information about vaccines (we have a new puppy). When the phone was answered the woman was very polite and was very helpful in answering my question, visited the same day!

Wonderful vet and a real vet. He does farm work as well as household pets and really knows his stuff. He is very affordable and he really cares. No nonsense. No ridiculous upcharges or salesmanship. Real information and advise based on what is the best decision... I have gone to him for years through several pets. My entire extended family uses him.
