Dr.Williams saved my cats life last week! They got her in the same day I called and got her into surgery! Thank you Dr.Williams and Shannon! You both put me at ease and helped save my baby girl. Can’t recommend this office enough.

I recently took my 17 year old cat here for extreme dental surgery. Dr. Rockwell and her assistants were the absolute, most caring individuals I believe I've ever met. I hate to hear some had a bad experience here because mine has been a life saver. This doctor has truly saved my cats life and given me back mine! Two times I was told at Country Vet they were unable to see inside her mouth. I waisted money and my cat suffered longer. These appointments were curbside only, I was not allowed to go in. Best thing they did was suggest I look into a vet that could monitor her more closely during Dental Surgery due to her age. I am extremely thankful I did because it took no time for Dr. Rockwell to see in her mouth. I was allowed into this appointment, but feel she still would have had success even if I wasn't. I originally called 3 places and was so impressed with Shannon's knowledge, patience, and transparency on the phone that I knew it was the right spot! Dr. Rockwell is so amazing that she made sure I had her email before I left the day of surgery. She even had the office call to check on my cat after surgery. This staff is dedicated to the health and wellness of their clients! I am forever thankful!

I had been taking my cat to The Sound Cat for about a year. The front desk staff were never particularly friendly. I called on a Monday to get my cat, who was an established patient there, in because she was very sick. I was told the soonest they could see her would be the following Wednesday (a week and a half later) because they were “down a doctor” (that’s a VERY common excuse at The Sound Cat, by the way). To have to wait that long for an established patient to be seen is unacceptable. Fortunately, I was able to get her into another vet much sooner (and as a new patient!). It’s a good thing I did, too, because her health problem was very urgent, and there’s not telling what state she might have been in had I waited a week and a half. When I emailed The Sound Cat that I would no longer be using their practice and to cancel all upcoming appointments and mail reminders, I received the snarkiest, most sarcastic, and most unprofessional response that “of course bad things happen when I’m on my first vacation in ten years and I will just have to fire whoever was responsible.” Do NOT take your cat here as they are unable to even maintain their current established patients, and they are rude and unprofessional beyond belief.

My family recently adopted 2 kittens from Sound Cat & they are absolutely wonderful!!! The building/house is adorable, the staff is so helpful & personable & they provide exceptional care. I can’t believe a place like this exists, but I am SO glad that it does! Even down to the sketchy, but beautiful, white cat that owns the place. I wish I could give them ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️!

Very friendly, not a long wait and sociable cats are in the waiting area too! Dr Gervais has been very thorough and helpful in answering any questions I've had. Plus she diagnosed my kitten correctly!

Sound Cat is hands down the best vet for your cat in all of Pender and New Hanover county! I came in with an emergency, and Dr. Williams was quick to clear her schedule and go into surgery with my little guy right away. She’s the reason why my cat is walking around today! They truly understand the love some of us have for our cats and make sure the cats are comfortable, happy and healthy! Love love love Sound Cat! You guys are AMAZING!

Professional and experienced staff and doctors make you feel like you are a doctor’s office instead of a vet. They also make your pet boarding feel like a kid going to summer camp.

My experience with this place: the staff is extremely disconnected and rude. There is no element of customer service in this place. The veterinarian, Rosemarie Williams, appears to be cold and uncaring and appears to have little respect for her paying customers. I will be taking my business, my money, and my cats elsewhere.

If I could give 10 stars, I would. Dr. Rockwell and her team are true, compassionate professionals in their craft. Flying to Europe requires a plethora of inefficient bureaucratic methods in obtaining appropriate documentation and The Sound Cat went above and beyond in ensuring documents were overnighted properly and in a timely fashion so my fur baby and I could fly. The staff is great at communicating and returning calls, despite the often hectic and busy days they work. Highly recommend and genuinely appreciate their considerate approach to customer (and cat) service.

I cannot say how much we appreciate the care we have received from Dr. Lori Gervais. She has been so patient with us and so quick to respond to our questions and concerns about our cat, Ocean. Highly recommend The Sound Cat.

I went in for the first time today for my cat, Marceline. I had to get her routine shots and a Heath Certificate to prepare for a flight I would be taking her on. Like most cats, going to the vet is usually a stressful event for Marceline. Not this time, though! She was immediately calm and quiet in the waiting room. Once we got to the exam room, she casually hung out on the exam table. She never squirmed, screamed, or tried to hide like she usually does. To say I was shocked is an understatement. Dr. Williams was extremely helpful, knowledgeable, and personable. She made sure I was well informed about not only my cat's general health, but also about what to expect when flying with a pet. She even gave me recommendations of extra things I would need during the flight (like a harness). The front office staff is extremely thoughtful and courteous. I called a few times before my visit for different questions, which they were able to help with easily. I even called a few days before just to confirm I had my appointment time correct. Shannon informed me of my time. I then asked Shannon if they possibly had an earlier time available, which she confirmed they did not. It wasn't a problem and I told her I would keep my time...Shannon then called me back the day before, remembering I had called and asked about an earlier appointment. She informed me that an earlier appointment had to reschedule and offered me that time. Simply AMAZING she remembered me and went out of her way to follow up on this. I honestly have trouble to get my own personal health physician to be so helpful and responsive! I've had cats and other animals my entire life and this was by far the best vet experience I've EVER had. My ONLY disappointment is that The Sound Cat and Dr. Williams won't be in San Francisco where we're moving to.

The staff at the front desk are amazing! I've been taking our cats to them for years...and it's always been a positive experience. Dr Rockwell is especially wonderful and caring. We love Dr Williams as well...she is a great veterinarian.

They rearranged their schedule to fit in my 19 year old cat who looked like he was about to die. He hadn't ate or moved in 2 days and was in tremendous pain. The doctor ran tests and found him to be extremely constipated and unable to pass anything. They were able to clear his blockages and within 24 hours he was like a kitten again (ok not really but he is almost 20). They sincerely care about the cats they see here and are very knowledgeable. I was really upset that it was time for him to be put down but the Sound Cat healed him and he hasnt been this happy in years. Thank you!

I went in to have my cat euthanized due to mouth infections. This was a chronic case with my cat and it finally got to the point that I had to think of quality of life. So I made an appt with the sound cat to have her humanly euthanized. When the doctor came in she told me she could pull the rest of my cats teeth and give her a second chance. I was all for it and excited! Please keep in mind my cat was barely eating at this point and not drinking any fluids. She told me to surrender my cat to her and she would treat her with antibiotics and do the surgery a week later all of this pro-bono and return my cat back to me after she was better. I have called several times and NO ONE WILL CALL ME BACK!! I don't even know if my cat is dead or alive and the ladies at the front desk will not tell me a thing. All I want is closure if they euthanized my cat. All they told me was she tested positive for FIV and she wasn't adoptable. Please please please where is my cat that was suppose to be returned back to me! I would have like to have said good bye.????

Dr. Williams is by far the finest vet I have ever encountered. I have been visiting vets across the US for 40 years. Her critical thinking skills and her years of both clinic and academic experience have provided my animals with excellent care for over 10 years now.

I can't express how amazing Dr. William was with our visit there with our cat, Baby Girl. We live in New Bern and went to two seperate vets before being referred to Dr. Williams. Thank goodness we were referrred from a vet from Jacksonville. He couldn't say enough good things about her. I had to take another chance and I am so glad I did! When we arrived at Dr. William's office, I knew I had made the right decision to see her. She knew right away what the diagnosis was. They were so caring and gentle with my cat. I almost put my beloved furbaby down because we were getting contradicting advise from my vet. They really care about your pet, so I would recommend this place in a heart beat. Thank you!

I went there for a 2nd opinion when my usual vet wasn't able to solve my cat's intestinal problems. They were thorough, explained all my options & their treatment plan WORKED - all for considerably less than my usual vet!
