Very friendly customer service. Great with dogs. Our dog loves it there and they always call if something goes wrong or they have a question. It’s nice knowing that she’s in good hands while we are away.

I have never boarded a dog before. But our usually furbaby watcher wasn’t an option. We boarded our living 98lb lab and he had the BEST time! He came home tired amd happy! We got pictures of him playing. Was so worth it amd will definitely be a returning customer!

The worst experience. My elderly dog was returned to me soaked in urine all over his stomach and legs. He never uses the bathroom inside, let alone LAY in it. I cannot imagine why this incident occurred. A few days after leaving both of my dogs starting feeling sick. They have kennel cough and now have to be separate from other dogs for 2-3 weeks. Both are at the age where kennel cough is a higher risk, one being just over 6 months old and the other 13 years old. I understand that is a risk of boarding, however neither of my dogs were allowed to play with others. The play areas should’ve been sanitized enough to prevent this spread of disease. Management was nice when I spoke with them, however nothing will make up for the terrible experience I had. Will never return and will certainly not recommend this facility.

Do not board here. Do not trust these people to care for your pets! I had been bringing my dog to Pet Paradise since she was a young puppy and have never had any issues until recently. Memorial Day weekend I boarded my dog and upon picking her up, she had consistent vomiting and diarrhea for multiple days and threw up an unidentified object. I took her to the vet (resulting in a $300 vet bill) where they determined she must have eaten something bad at boarding. They prescribed her medicine to take for 7 days. Since I have never had any issues with Pet Paradise, I decided it was a fluke and I would move on. I brought my dog back for boarding the next week from June 6 -10. When I dropped her off for boarding I let the front desk staff know that Waffle ate something the last time she was there and needed to be closely watched and monitored during this stay. I also let them know that she had medicine that she had to take each day. It was 8 tablets cut in half and she needed a half twice a day. The front staff listened to my concerns and ensured me they would watch her and also do the medicine. I got two report cards that week and they both said Waffle was great with no mention of issues. However the evening I picked Waffle up, at 4:30am she vomited. Much to my shock, dismay and surprise, she vomited a pink wristband that I know goes around the dog's necks at Pet Paradise. Now mind you, I have never seen Waffle in a pink wristband so I assume these were from other dogs. There was also some wrapper of some sort. I have attached pictures for your reference. How does this happen for a SECOND time after I just told them that she needed to be watched and monitored?? And how was she unsupervised long enough to eat an entire wristband?! It also shocking to me that each time I have gotten report cards and never any mention of her being sick, yet as soon as she comes home she is sick... I find it odd to believe that neither time she didn't get sick at Pet Paradise as well. To make matters worse, on Friday the 11th, pet paradise called to let me know that we still had medicine left. This was weird because she should have completed the medicine during her stay. My husband went to pick it up and there were still FOUR tablets left meaning they only gave her half of a dose instead of the full dose each day. They determined what was best for her without consulting me or my husband or listening to the vet's orders which is unacceptable. People are supposed to put their trust in you that you will keep our pets safe and unharmed. After the last two visits I am unsure I will be able to trust boarding again. I emailed the Wilmington Pet Paradise with these concerns AND the National Pet Paradise feedback line and NEVER received a response which ultimately led to me living this negative review. I have this company multiple chances to respond to me and address the issues and they chose to simply ignore me. I will never be using Pet Paradise again!

Friendly staff and nice facility but they would not take our dog because she is a "jumper" and they didn't have a fence set-up to contain dogs like her. Seems easy enough to install some mesh covers over fenced in area to provide shade and safety to prevent that. Otherwise, probably fine for most pets.

Parker absolutely had the time of his life here. It was a God send for an overworked dog dad that was working way too many hours. We moved to a 14 acre farm so he’s living the best dog life he can now. I would recommend this place to anyone. The staff is amazing!

DO NOT BRING YOUR ANIMALS TO PET PARADISE IT IS DANGEROUS TO THEIR HEALTH AND WELL BEING. I typically do not leave reviews, but I am extremely unhappy with the treatment my dog received at this facility. I have an extremely friendly dog, who has never had any issues with anxiety, other dogs or people. She has been attending daycare since she was a puppy and has always loved it. I recently moved the the area and brought her here to try out this facility. This morning at 8am, I dropped my dog off at Pet Paradise and was told she passed every test with flying colors meaning she went right in to play with the others dogs. I checked the cameras periodically throughout the day and around 4pm I noticed a staff member grabbing my dog by the collar and pulling her outside, alone. Keep in mind it is 90+ degrees out with over 70% humidity. I waited a few minutes and continued to watch the camera in hopes that the staff member was just letting my dog out to use the bathroom, however after over 15 minutes of my dog being left completely alone in the heat I began calling the facility to see what was going on, only to be sent to voicemail multiple times. I then drove to the facility to pick up my dog and check on her, by the time I arrived she had been outside for 30+ minutes and was still alone and crying extremely loudly. When I went in to speak to the staff they had no clue what was going on in the facility or with my dog, and upon going to check with the attending staff they told me my dog had “storm anxiety” therefore they PUT HER OUTSIDE INTO THE STORM ALONE??????? I asked if there was an AC kennel for her to be in if she was exhibiting anxiety they said that there was and “they should have put her there”. When I finally got to see her, she was visibly dehydrated and shaken up. my dog could have easily died of heat exhaustion if I had not been watching the cameras and picked her up when I did. Please DO NOT BRING YOUR PETS HERE.

We travel a great deal with our business and use Pet Paradise whenever we are close to one of their locations. We even stay at hotels further away from the jobs sites at which we are working to ensure our pup has an awesome and reputable place to spend her days while we work. The prices for daycare are comparable to the other locations in Florida, Georgia, and Tennessee that we have used, but only this location charges for a la carte amenities that are included everywhere else. Specifically, it is a $15 charge per day to let your dog play in the pool. At every other Pet Paradise we have had the pleasure of visiting, pool time is include in the cost of daycare. That charge is nearly half the cost of a full day of daycare and, for that exorbitant fee, you get 30 minutes out of a potential twelve hour day of pool time. I understand that each location is franchised and allowed to set their own rates and services but after visiting almost a half dozen other facilities that include that service at no additional cost, it seems to me to be a little highway robbery. On a positive side though, this location - as with all locations that we have visited - has a very friendly staff who are attentive, interactive and very mindful of the needs of their canine clientele.

We took our loving 1 year old Golden-Doodle to Pet Paradise Wilmington (market street) on Friday, December 18, 2020 for his first grooming there. His grooming resulted in cuts, burns and now a fearful puppy. We called the office to report this. We were told that he received 5 stars for grooming behavior (and he has never had a grooming complaint). We were greeted with a lack of compassion, a nonchalant remedy of putting cream on it from someone who is not a vet - to waiting for a call from the general manager who never called. Someone not the manager called just put it to "see a vet". Again lack of compassion. Now our baby is clingy and doesn't greet people with his usual openness. Makes me wonder how he was treated overall. I will never use this location again for grooming or boarding. I also do not recommend them for those services. See the pictures to show our baby's wounds.

We are new to the area and brought our 2 Cavachons in for a complete groom. We were extremely happy with the work Christy did. We were sad to leave our groomer of 5+ years so we are so excited to have found a new one on the first try. Christy was very attentive and took notes when discussing what we wanted. They were finished within a reasonable time frame and I got a call as soon as they were ready to be picked up. When we picked them up the price was what we had been quoted and they were happy, not stressed, and looked amazing!! Christy is very thorough, making sure she knew exactly what we wanted and her technical skill was excellent. Although I would not have complained if the cut wasn't perfect, it was and I'm very impressed with the quality of the cut. Every aspect was even and matched and she took time dealing with a few specific trouble areas in exactly the way we had discussed. I am very happy to recommend this groomer. In addition the front desk staff and management were extremely helpful and courteous!!

First time ever taking our two dogs to be boarded. It has ended up being a disaster. Two cases of kennel cough were what our pups received for the $400+ that we spent. We just received word that a friend of ours dog also got kennel cough from Pet Paradise. So we are required to have our dogs vaccinated but it obviously doesn’t matter. Someone else was allowed to bring their dog in and infect many others. I don’t care about different strains and all the excuses as to why this could have happened. Safety, security and cleanliness should be at the top of the list for any dog boarding or day care facility. Obviously this place is lacking in these areas. This was also obvious watching the cameras and seeing the staff sitting down and talking to others while dogs are peeing and pooping everywhere. And then they would finally notice and clean up after numerous dogs walked through and sometimes rolled in the urine/feces of another dog. So we will look to alternative methods to have our dogs cared for in the future. This place dropped the ball in so many ways and our dogs are truly suffering right now because of it.

This review is specific to their cat boarding and is not so much of knock against Pet Paradise in general as it is a notice to cat owners to consider your cat’s temperament beforehand: this is establishment will not serve all cats’ temperaments equally well. If you have a super lazy, chill cat, I’m sure it will be fine. There was a chunky, good-natured boy out in the common area when we came to pick up our cat, and he seemed to be quite happy. Our cat, however, is an extremely energetic, playful cat that is constantly on the move. She is going on two years old and is still the most active cat I’ve ever seen. If you go long enough without playing with her, she’ll let you know by bringing you toys and meowing at you, rolling around around on the floor, and generally acting insane. We’ve also noticed that she doesn’t do well alone overnight, but does ok in new places (or so we thought, in retrospect: only when we are there, too) so when we went on a short trip we thought boarding might be a good option, since at least there would be other cats nearby. Since she is playful and likes other cats, we could easily imagine her watching the other cats in the common area with fascination, and exploring her new area and playing when it was her turn in the open space. Unfortunately, our girl was extremely stressed by her stay. She did not eat the whole time. She trembled when we came to pick her up (we found her cowering beside her cat pan on the bottom level of her cat condo) and for most the car ride home. She acted extremely unusual and frightened from the time we came to pick her up until well after we got her home. At one point I walked up behind her and she jumped up, spun around into a crouched/defensive fighting posture, and hissed at me — a behavior she had never exhibited before. After a few hours she was getting back to herself, and now (the next day) she’s pretty much back to normal. The cat was looked after for the weekend, but that’s about it. I’m sure the staff tried to play with her and show her a good time, but she probably wasn’t having any of it. The environment was apparently very stressful for her particular temperament, which, in addition to the aforementioned playfulness and energy, is very sweet and docile, but also quite alarmed by strangers (initially, but she will soon start trying to make a new friend — there is no person or animal that is not a potential playmate). After the fact, we couldn’t help but feel like she would have been better off at home, alone, with someone coming by to refresh her food and litter and spend some time trying to play with her. This is probably the route we’ll take in the future. I’m not sure pet paradise did anything wrong, but if you’re reading this, just know that boarding might be an extremely stressful experience for some cats. If your cat’s temperament seems similar to ours, you might want to look at other options. I will say that Pet Paradise’s website seems to overpromise on “plenty” of cat trees (saw exactly one), scratch posts, toys (didn’t see a single toy), “plenty of space to explore.” I’m sure this establishment would be totally fine for the more gregarious (instant best friends with everyone) and lazy cats out there.

Someone just asked in our community group on FB about best daycare in area. This is my response from our experience today 07/11 So as someone that just experience a new one today, I absolutely have to recommend Pet Paradise. We just moved here 2 weeks ago from NoVa and our pup was super stressed from the move and all the changes. We attempted to take him for his free Get Acquainted day a few days after the move and he would not have it with any of the caretakers and would snap and have low leave me alone growls. He was not able to even make it past the door. They completely understood and simply cancelled that days appointment and rescheduled at no charge. We took him back today and whilst he was still very nervous he went back with them and had an absolutely wonderful day. They let him spend 2 hours in the 'hotel' to relax before going to play with the dogs. Completely worked with him at his pace to make sure he was comfortable and understood everything was going to be okay. He didnt want them leashing him so they cleared the path to a spot where he could see the other dogs and had him follow them. As soon as he saw the other dogs and realized where he was (he has been to a daycare in NoVa before) his attitude changed and made a complete 180. They actually said he had the best play out of any dog they had ever seen. They said he can come back anytime and let me tell you he most definitely will go back!

I have two pups that have been going to PPD for 6+ months and they can't wait to get through the door. I love to see their pictures that the staff sends me throughout the day. They get treated with the best care I could have ever asked for. Thank you, Pet Paradise!

We have two sweet babies named Daisy and Carter. They attend Day Camp three or more times a week. They absolutely love it!!! They have made so many friends. The employees treat them so well and so lovingly!!!! It always warms my heart when I see them have one of my babies on their lap for a rub and love. We recently boarded them for the first time ever. I think it was harder on me than them. They had so much fun!!! I can't give them enough stars. The place is very clean, and the dogs well watched. The floors are mopped constantly and somehow not a lot of dog hair on the floor. Wish I could say that about my house.

I love this place and more importantly, my dogs get excited when we pull into the parking lot! The staff is friendly, efficient and caring. They offer multiple services like grooming, bathing, swimming and I could not be happier with the care they give to my dogs. I highly recommend Melanie and her staff to provide quality care for my dogs!
