Our 12 year old dog was drinking more water than usual and consequently going to the bathroom more often (and more volume) than normal. We called Myrtle Grove for an appointment, were greeted by a very helpful and friendly Nicole and were fit in (despite dealing with staff shortage situation as all businesses are) within 24 hours. We were hesitant about curbside drop off but it was super easy on all of us and very well organized. We conveyed our concerns by phone, and authorized tests and received a car side visit by the vet. The call with lab results came 24 hours later as promised, the vet took the time to go over everything in detail and answer questions and come up with a game plan for the newly diagnosed diabetes. Again within 24 hrs we were seen by a vet tech and the vet for a demo appt to learn to give our dog his daily insulin shot and again were able to ask questions and go over our concerns without feeling rushed and with a great amount of patience. We couldn’t be happier with our experience, despite the diagnosis…services, facilities, phone/desk staff, vet techs and vets couldn’t have been better. Congrats to all. Highly recommend.

A while back I lost my companion of 16.5 years. I found my sweet pup tied to a tree when I was 23. I paid the owners to let me take her, and was blessed to have her as my best friend until right before my 40th birthday. My sweet girl was a patient at Myrtle grove for probably the last two years of her life. I always felt that the staff was helpful and the veterinarians themselves were kind, though maybe a little excessive when it came to running tests and offering extra treatment. At 15-16 years old my dog needed to be kept comfortable. Though laser therapy and acupuncture may have helped I just couldn’t see putting her through that and was honestly put off by the sales pitch. I never walked out the door without spending (at least) $400.00 without all the “expensive” treatments. My husband is a human physician and it doesn’t cost that to see him! Again the doctors were kind and did take A LOT of time answering my questions and returning my calls and that was appreciated. Anyway, when I knew without a doubt that she was ready to cross the rainbow bridge I brought her in. When I arrived I mentioned my daughter’s boyfriend would be in the lobby to pay as that was something I really didn’t want to deal with. We saw Dr. Bolz who walked us through the procedure. He was kind, somber, seemed to empathize. Before he gave the sedative a tech came in and offered my old girl some cake Although it was a nice gesture I assumed it would have been communicated that my dog had been ill that whole morning. She and the vet both scratched her ears somewhat roughly as if she were young and perfectly well, patting her on her head. After the sedative was given another tech came in (as I was laying with my sweet girl crying) and asked how I was going to take care of the 300+ dollar bill. I was in disbelief and really just so angry. I understand it is a business and that euthanasia is not free. However, not only had measures already been taken to avoid such an intrusion, but I felt asking at that time (immediately before my dog would die) lacked taste and compassion. This was the hardest day of my adult life. The first time I’d ever lost a loved one or witnessed something die… and their top concern was money. It’s a shame that’s what veterinary medicine has become. It’s taken me several months to be able to write this review, and to do so respectfully and honestly. I only hope it helps Myrtle Grove Animal Hospital to be a little more aware of timing, to go about things of that nature gingerly, and to be more in tune with the needs of owners and pets not only in the saddest moments. But any time they visit.

I was very grateful to be able to get my Marla in same day as she was so uncomfortable. The tech we had was awesome, knowledgeable & caring. She took the time to answer all my questions!

Myrtle Grove is hands down the best Vet Clinic that I’ve ever been to. Every staff member is professional and really seems to care about my dog. It’s as though they work there not for a paycheck, but because they made a career of being around and loving on animals. The clinic is incredibly clean. I have never noticed any pet odor in any part of the building. They are attentive and offer sincere, caring advice. Also, the way they handled their operations through Covid was and continues to be commendable, balanced and as pragmatic as humanly possible. If I could give them more than five stars I would.

Trusting « your » veterinarian is crucial when we have pets. We are so glad to have found Dr Dan Houlihan at Myrtle Grove Animal Hospital. Our three Pomeranians have respective health issues: our 14.5 years old has congestive heart failure, or 14 years old a tendency to seizures and our little 4 years old has some liver congenital defect. All of them have been treated for years by Dr Houlihan, who understands the needs of the pets and the fear of their owners. Also, we appreciate the fact that he gives the minimum dosage to begin with. Additionally, he always explains and answers any question we have. We know our pets are in good hands with Dan and we feel blessed to have him take care of our little dogs, whenever necessary.

Myrtle grove animal hospital was fantastic with my pup, Honey-Bear (10 y/o Pitt mix) Honey has had some bad experiences with vets in the past so when she got there she was shaking like crazy and wouldn’t move. The veterinarian and the assistant came in and spent a lot of time with her to make sure she was comfortable and relaxed before starting any treatments. (Honey may have milked it for the extra cheese treats) Honey is also reactive to certain Vaccines as well, I was pretty happy that the vet called a few hours after her appointment to make sure she was doing well with the vaccines she had received. On top of that they were responsive on the phone and website, along with being affordable. Very happy with their service, you can tell they really care about animals

Great, friendly, knowledgeable staff. And my kitties got so many treats they wouldn't stop purring. That's definitely first for me taking cats to the vet.

We recently acquired two stray kittens, and we were in desperate need to have them checked out. We visited Myrtle Grove Animal Hospital after receiving a recommendation from a friend. They were kind, loving, and attentive with our two very scared kittens. Dr. Daniel and his staff made sure they both received a full physical/checkup. We were thankful that they both received a clean bill of health, and that Dr. Daniel and his team took care of them like they were their own. We are so lucky to have found them!

I highly recommend MGAH. We have six cats remaining from eleven. The doctors and staff couldn't have been kinder when our older cats died from old age cat diseases. We are extremely pleased with the care given to our precious cats. We have complete trust in the doctors and staff. They are all very nice people who love and care about animals. Our daughter now brings her two dogs and two cats and is very pleased with our recommendation.
