We were amazed at the improvement in our dog, very good advise and the explanations made our jobs easier.

This was our 1st lesson with our puppy Cruella but I think it went very well. Cruella was taught about 5 new things. Great instructor and assistant.

Absolutely Amazing, this place knows dogs!! They might seem a little rough around the edges at first, but, magic happens after the first class. Best price in town, and very good you can tell she's been doing it for a long while!! She is Wilmington's very own dog whisperer!!

Absolutely phenomenal! We regret not signing up sooner. If you need dog training of any kind - look no further! Diane is incredibly knowledgeable and tells it how it is. She is straight forward (but is still kind and even tells a few fun stories :)) which is exactly what is needed for a well-trained, obedient dog! The facility is well maintained, clean, and they’re very organized. We’re already looking forward to signing our pup up for more!

Going to DogTrain for obedience training is a must. Diane, Ashley & Lauren are dedicated to training us and dogs. They also have play groups for socializing dogs-great fun and exercise for pets.

Awful experience. I took my puppy here for puppy training. I showed up a few minutes late on the first day, and was walking past people already seated when my puppy started interacting with another puppy. The other dog owner and I exchanged quick small talk. All of a sudden the owner teaching the class, in the middle of the room, started banging on her clip board over and over again until everyone in the room jumped from being startled. She then very aggressively yelled at me across the room to “check in and sit down! I was interrupting class!” I was absolutely horrified and humiliated. Everyone just sat there in shock. Kids and adults. I grabbed my puppy, and walked out before anyone could see me cry. This happened several years ago and I still remember it... Enough to get curious and look up this company, and see if it’s still in business with the same owner. Unfortunately it is so I will warn others with this review. I would not have a pet goldfish trained by this woman. Extremely rude to customers is an understatement.

We are extremely pleased with Diane and the staff at DogTrain. They have gone above and beyond to help us with our 16 month old pitbull that we found out is deaf. We have incorporated hand signals to supplement her hearing loss. We highly recomend DogTrain...Michael Kingoff & Vanessa DIaz

Diane and her staff are wonderfully knowledgeable and do a great job training humans to train their dogs! Diane's wit and humor makes the class enjoyable, and her no fluff approach to teaching allows you to get down to business and get the most out of your training classes. We completed three rounds of classes with our wild lab pup, and we could not have survived these 7 months of puppy ownership without the help from Diane! She truly knows what she is doing and does it well.

I am really thankful that I found this place and Diane Gallagher, the owner. Her training and advice has changed our lives. We went from having a dog that was unmanageable to having a complete sweetheart. I give all the credit to Diane for training "US" on how to train our dogs. She is no nonsense and blunt, and her responses to the antics of dogs and owners and truly hilarious at times. We enjoy going to class with our dogs, because she always makes us laugh - usually at ourselves! I have never come home without a new piece of valuable knowledge, which has made our lives easier and our furry children happier. Highly recommend!

My parents bought me the puppy preschool class when I was at UNCW 10 years ago with my first puppy. Diane's training method caused me (and my roomate that came to the classes with me) to pay attention and really work on the homework -- best gift for a young person with a "college dog." I recently got my second crazy chocolate lab puppy and knew I needed dogtrain again to remind me how to properly train her. My husband and I attended the puppy class, and our crazy puppy is SO MUCH BETTER because we learned how to be consistent with commands and learned so many behavioral tips that helped tremendously. Diane can be strict (on humans) sometimes, but it's always with a laugh, and it's so obvious she wants the best relationship for the owners and dogs. If you want to let your dog run all over you, this class is not for you. If you want to learn how to be assertive and consistant with dog training, you will not find a better trainer in Wilmington. Check your ego at the door, and you will not be disappointed in the end!

Teaches people and the dogs learn from their people. I'm 75 and have been attending for 5 years. This is the first time I've trained a dog for obedience and a sport called rally. Decided to compete and my dog and I are proof of the techniques. Lots of ribbons. Lots of fun with terrific participants.

Diane knows her stuff and is an excellent teacher of dogs AND their people! Layla is a handful, but I’m using what I learned at Dogtrain to help her become well mannered and respectful.

Love training my dog with someone who has a sense of humor. Since I love, breed and train Irish Water Spaniels, it is a prerequisite!
