Dapper Dogs Grooming Wilmington, North Carolina

I was looking to pamping my pup as shes had a rough time moving into the new house. Unfortunately pampering was not done here. Nor was she taken care of. I called while I was out 10 mins from the way and I was told a groomer canceled, so they weren't going to see me. I told them I'm coming from Wallace. They would then try to occomidate me as I'm a bit a ways from where they are located. The bath was poor quality as my pup was still dirty in some places. Her nails were poorly clipped. She was NOT deshed/brushed out. She still smelled like wet dog. No perfume as they stated they will do. Will not go back and will tell my pet pals to stay away from here. $40.00 wasted.

I am a long-time client of another grooming salon in town, and I recently received a text from Michelle stating that she came from that salon and was offering a discount if I took my dogs to her salon instead. I find this highly unprofessional, as I’m sure her former shop did not give her permission to take my personal information to solicit her services. I’m very upset that someone I didn’t consent to having my contact information is using it in this way. Please stop harassing former clients!! EDIT: The owner responded and was polite. While I’m still not happy that I got these messages and don’t think it’s right that she took that info, I imagine it’s a tough industry. I couldn’t figure out how to take down my review.

This was an awful experience. I had SUCH high hopes and the actual groomer who did the work on my dogs did a really good job, but, they over charged me because "we thought" my dogs were 80+ pounds, even though I explicitly told them when I first came in that my dogs were 62 and 63 pounds (got a quote of 70-80$ per dog) and when I contested their weight, the owner, Michelle required that I have an updated weight SAME DAY from the vet in order to prove I wasn't lying. I have never had any groomer require such a thing. My vet did weigh them, and send the paperwork to Dapper Dogs, and they were 62 and 66 pounds each, still nowhere near the 80 lbs they said they were. Then, Michelle made an employee call me back rather than apologizing and adjusting it herself. I had really hoped it could've been a moment to fix the issue with some kindness about the mistake, and I feel it was very unfair to tell an employee (who had just started) to do something an owner should've done, as it was her decision . They stated due to breed and haircut (I got a one length all over with short ears) that they would still charge me 100$ per dog but would refund 5 dollars each. I also had never asked for, or received 20% off my services for being a first time costumer, which I did to be supportive of the business. To be offered 10$ was horribly insulting. I had already booked, the first time I came in, 2 appointments 3 weeks apart as the start of a regular process, and that was given no mind. Not to mention, the very first time I brought my dogs in, I had just bathed them (no appointments were available) and asked for a face feet and Fanny. Their underbelly was cut haphazardly and I could see all the spots missed, their feet had hair in between the toes so long I could pull it out and it would stand up, and my youngest had a split nail and there was bleeding. They also were covered in loose hair, and it was everywhere, meaning they weren’t blown off very well afterward either. I imagine this was the “I’m not getting 200$ so I don’t care” cut. I went back after this because I hoped it was a fluke. It was a different groomer that cut my dogs this time around. As a fairly new company, I really hoped they would realize how important it is to have costumers who come often and advocate for their company. I would literally sing from the rooftops about my old groomer and pushed business their way any time I could. I had been recommended here by someone whose family member worked here and I am so sad that it went this way. My dogs look great but I felt so taken advantage of and discarded as a client. Again, this groomer (I think her name is Ashley? ) did a really good job, I just wish the business side had cared enough about the person paying for the skill to do some personal relations and make me feel like they cared about my business.

Shatzi looks wonderful and also smells good which is a plus! She seems happy to come to Dapper Dogs which is also a plus. It's close by to our home. I'm delighted with the service!

Thomas did an AMAZING job & Ashleigh did a great job; didn’t even have to muzzle her for her grooming!! One thing I especially like is they are quick and don’t take the whole day!

I took my golden retriever to Dapper Dogs for the first time today and they did a great job. Fur is so clean and soft, knots gone, all trimmed up and he smells good:) I had an appointment...dropped him off 15 min early and he was ready 2 and a half hours later. We’ll be back.

I struggled to find a groomer who would do a good job grooming my Westie’s coat and make them look like Westies. A friend recommended Dapper dogs and it was super easy and fast to book! You can book an appointment online which seems very hard to find in Wilmington! Michelle and her team are amazing, my pups receive amazing service. They are super patient and welcoming and take their time to get to know your dog before taking them to get groomed. The blueberry face scrub, bandanna and the report for the pup’s visit are some of my favorite services. Don’t think twice just book with Dapper dogs you won’t regret!

Yesterday was my first visit to Dapper Dogs...it was a great experience.. They where so friendly, professional, reasonable and the place was very clean.. They did a great job on maximus and Maddison..we will definitely be back

This place is awesome! My shih tzu has had awful grooming experiences in the past and I was close to giving up hope that we would ever find a groomer able to work with him. Thank goodness for Dapper Dogs!!! They were able to give my incredibly anxious baby a beautiful cut for a very reasonable price! I seriously recommend this groomer to anyone and everyone. So professional and great at what they do!!! Benny and I appreciate you guys!

I usually never post reviews for anything, but we LOVED dapper dogs grooming experience. It was very calm for our dog and he got to play with other dogs before and after grooming. He looked fantastic and was so happy that I think he didn’t want to leave. We will continue to utilize their services for sure!

I highly recommend Dapper Dogs Grooming. Michelle is great, very professional, sweet and most importantly very patient. I was very anxious leaving my dog, he is a senior dog and has health issues, Michelle made me feel at ease and took great care of my dog. He looks so handsome.

My dog can be a pain for groomers and tends to get antsy when I drop him off. When I picked him up he was calm as a clam and looked great! Online booking was super easy

Can not say enough about how awesome Michelle and Dapper Dovs are. I get my two Shih Tzu's groomed here and they always look adorable when I pick them up. Definitely bring your fur baby here if you want someone who loves dogs and is a skilled groomer!

She makes you feel like your dog is her top priority, no matter how busy she is, and she has a remarkable attention to detail. Her work really speaks for itself! We have done both the dog bath package and drop-in services for our two dogs and have had a great experience here! Super kind staff, fair pricing, and our pups come home happy and smelling/looking great. This is our new go-to for grooming.

Today was my first time dropping off my chocolate lab for the bath package. I’ve been looking for a new groomer to take her to, as I have yet to find one that I like. The environment was calm and the staff was very welcoming. They did an excellent job with my pup! She smells amazing, ears are squeaky clean, and her nails are perfect (which a lot of other groomers easily mess up or make her bleed). I picked her up and she seemed happy and really liked the environment. They even played with her while they waited for me to pick her up. Great first impression! Oh and the bandanas are so cute!

Michelle did a phenomenal job with my labradoodle Luna today! Literally the best cut she’s ever gotten so I couldn’t be happier. Was even happier when I got 20% off for being a first time customer! I will be back for sure and already recommended her to another friend of mine.
