Clever K9 Dog Training Wilmington, North Carolina

This was the most unprofessional and condescending encounter I have had in a long while. Didn't even get to the training because the consultation call was appalling. After expressing very real concerns in a detailed email I received a call from Marjorie with no voicemail but rather an email saying "call me". The call started by criticizing my email. The call was quick to judge our previous training, quick to interrupt and interject opinions, quick to suggest that I had zero clue what I was talking about, dismissing my concerns with my animals behavior, and quick to mock my notion that what I had spent on trainers was a lot. If you want a trainer that is unprofessional and beyond rude than Marjorie is for you. After speaking to other trainers and comparing my experiences, there are far better options in Wilmington and seemingly much more competent.

Looking at all the fabulous reviews that Clever K9 has received, we weren’t sure what we could add... BUT...Marji is truly a Dog’s Best Friend (more importantly) a Dog Owner’s Best Friend. Even before we had chosen Marji to help us train our new puppy, she answered 2 emails and 6 text’s about our little Banks. Marji is there for you and your pet 100%. We told her we were having some housebreaking issues with Banks and when I explained the issue, she said Banks had a Urinary Trac Infection...who knew male puppy’s could even get one...BUT...Marji was right. We got a lot out of our 2 hour home visit, our 5 day drop off class and Puppy Class was great...we are looking forward to our next class with Marji in Sept.

Marji was a great help with our puppy. She taught us how to teach our dog and develop a great relationship with our pup. Group basic obedience lessons were a great value. Recommend to anyone looking to start a baseline for puppy training. I will likely enroll in future classes to continue learning and growing with my dog.

Marji did an AWESOME job with my two 6 year old springers! We needed some help when going on walks (stop pulling, barking at people, cars, other dogs especially.) Not only did she teach my dogs but also taught me different techniques to use when bad behavior occurs. We only did one session and were there for about 2 hours. The next time we went for a walk they did SO GREAT! It was actually enjoyable walking them. I would definitely recommend clever k9 if you’re looking for a dog trainer!!

Wonderful spot for dog training. She has helped our family handle our new puppy! Her methods are successful and the owner loves what she does and does it well.

Marji is so great! She is so passionate and caring, and you can tell she really loves what she does. Our pup just began training with her, but so far all tips have been working!

Marji has been incredible with our 4 month old lab mix puppy. She's taught her how to sit, go down and walk on a leash, just with a few short classes! Marji also has texted multiple times just simply asking how Payton, our puppy, has been doing. Her genuine care for animals is evident and I can't wait for Payton to learn more from her!

Marji was great in the basic obedience class! She made sure that all of the dogs were comfortable and happy. My puppy was really shy at the start of the class and she was much more confident by the end! She has always been sweet and well behaved but this class helped me get her focused and communicate more clearly with her.

There’s nothing I enjoy more than watching a trainer who actually enjoys their job. Marji is so caring and helpful with the dogs. Very easy to talk to. Joseph as well. They are both well educated and work very well together.

Love Marji and Joe! Deuce loved the puppy obedience classes (and is a little disappointed that he graduated and doesn't get to go every week now). Helped us tremendously with socializing our new puppy, teaching him (and us) the basics, and it was always fun to go. I feel like Marji and Joe really care about the dogs and how they are doing - it's not just a class, it's something they really love doing. We are definitely not done with CleverK9 ;-)

Marjorie and Joe were great with our Labrador retriever puppy! Their group classes were well organized and structured, providing training on the basic commands that are helpful for every dog. The day training was a great additional option that helped to further train our dog in the specific areas she needed. Majorie and Joe were always very professional and displayed true passion and enjoyment for their profession.

We just finished our first 6 week session with Marji and Joe. Our puppy has learned so much and loves seeing them every week. We have gotten many compliments on the positive changes in our dog's behavior and couldn't be happier with how she's taking to the training.

This is by far, the best dog training in our area. Marji and Joe are fantastic. They have so much compassion for the dogs, in fact our Labradoodle is so excited to go to class, sometimes I think he loves them more than me. They spend so many hours training, loving, and teaching us how to train our dog. They are a true blessing to us. I trust them 100% with Fletcher. I look forward to spending time with them to learn what is best for our dog. Do yourself and your dog a favor and take your dog to them. I love them both so very much.

We LOVE Clever K9!!! Our 4 month old Golden Doodle is receiving great instruction and so are we! A wonderful staff that clearly cares about the animals. The facilities are top notch and they make the whole process much easier than anticipated. we already notice a difference in our puppy just after a few sessions.
