If I could, I would give ZERO stars!! As we are still trying to come to grips and cope with the loss of our beautiful Ali after having her for only 8.5 years, we are trying to look back if there were any signs/symptoms that we should have noticed...and made our regular vet at Wake Forest Animal Hospital aware of, but there were none. A terrible cancer had been there for a while with no symptoms. Ali had surgery at WFAH on Thursday and died the next Tuesday ????. The surgery at WFAH was minor with the removal of what appeared to be a just lipoma (we were told)on her left side...at this point we still don't know if it was just that even though it was sent out for pathology but nobody has contacted us with the findings. Ali seemed to be recovering well after the surgery , but started coughing on Saturday evening and by Sunday morning was at Blue Pearl Emergency Vet. The devastating diagnosis was given to us on Tuesday midday of an advanced hemangiosarcoma. On Tuesday evening my beautiful girl had peacefully crossed the rainbow bridge. WFAH was notified of what was going on all along, but they never tried to contact us to see how she was doing or help us go through this horrible diagnosis. After all she was their patient... We will no longer bring any of our dogs back to WFAH because we have yet to receive a call regarding what happened to Ali. We are painfully aware that the diagnosis was given way too late to make a difference, but ALL we needed was for WFAH to show a bit of interest/care as we were loosing Ali.

We love all the staff and vets at Wake Forest Animal Hospital. We have been using their clinic since 2009. They are very professional and caring and where we trust to have our fur babies taken care of.

I will start off by saying my previous encounters with WFAH with my previous dog was amazing. I had brought in my new dog (English Mastiff) for an emergency visit on 11/16/2021. Our appointment started with Dr Manning, he was pleasant at first until it came time for a fecal test. I explained my dog could become anxious but means no harm (requested medicine for him prior to the appointment). Dr Manning requested we put a muzzle on our dog, he then became more anxious once the muzzle was on and was moving frantically in the room. Dr Manning tried to hold my dog still and started to scream at my 15 year old son “Don’t just stand there and watch. He is your responsibility” I stood there trying to calm my dog down and in shock. Once the test was completed Dr Manning lifted up from the floor and addressed my son once again stating “Have you ever taken this dog to an obedience class?” My son horrified responded “No” Dr Manning then said “Why in the hell not? This dog is a liability.” Note, all this is being said to my 15 year old son as I’m on the opposite side of the room. He proceeded to ramble on and on about obedience class etc etc. After I left the examination room I walked to the front desk to request to speak to the manager. Receptionist was helpful and accommodating. I then spoke to Cesar who was very kind and understanding. Once I left and had researched Dr Manning is the owner of the hospital, I then decided I would never put a foot in this place again nor recommend them as I have in the past. Dr Manning should be ashamed of himself.

Dr. Norman Manning and staff are awesome!! I've been taking my pets to this office for years and have always gotten great care. Highly recommend.

The actual medical staff are fine, but I've never encountered more rude and judgmental receptionists. I've been here several times, and every time, the receptionists have a nasty look or attitude to give you. This is also the only medical facility that doesn't require at least their employees to wear masks. Do better.

I can’t say enough about WFAH! They are so kind and responsive, give options regarding treatment/care, appear to LOVE the animals they care for, and keep costs fair. I’ve only met two of the vets (Manning and Mullin) but they are both fantastic. Their techs are amazing!! One of them was able to do a nail trim on my psycho-chonk of a dog when I and others have failed. I’m so grateful for them!!

WFAH has been amazing with all of my fur babies. They even sent me this picture of my boy Black Jack when he came out of surgery ???? They are super responsive and very welcoming.

Best vet's office around Wake Forest, hands down! After we brought our new puppy home, we inquired in a social media group about vets that people liked in the area. Then we started calling around to narrow down our choices. The difference when we called WFAH was night and day. Sweetest lady answered the phone (Kim), very professional, but also friendly and pleasant and excited to meet our new fur baby. To be honest, she was the reason we chose this office. After taking our puppy for her first visit, we know we made the RIGHT CHOICE! Loved the doctor (Dr. Mullin), techs, receptionists - everything about this place. And the location is perfect for us as well. Stay awesome guys - your staff is the best!

We've been bringing our dog to this clinic for about 4 years. All the techs & doctors are very kind and cheery. But kind and cheery do not always equal to attentive and/or good outcomes. Case in point: our dog was lethargic and unable to walk one morning (she's only 4-yo). Tests at Wake Forest Animal Hospital (WFAH) showed a lack of platelets. She was put on steroids and we were told to bring her to Blue Pearl, a HIGH-priced specialty animal hospital. Between the 2 of them, we spent over $5000 (through 12 visits) trying to figure out why her platelets were down and, subsequently, why her liver function panels were off the charts ( I had to suggest to the Dr. at WFAH to do a more extensive blood test--this is how they found out about the liver issues--*I* had to suggest it to them!). She was seen a total of 12 times between, having blood drawn each time. Sometimes the blood work was $64, sometimes is was $250, depending on the extent of the tests needed. She was slowly getting better but has been on steroids since mid-Feb (it's August now) because one must wean a dog very slowly off of steroids not to cause other, more serious damage, especially to the andrenals, I was told. WFAH has been giving our dog yearly exams for heart worms, yearly rabies & leptospirosis shots and other services. Two weeks after our last visit we realized we were out of thyroid meds. We called and asked for a re-up of her meds. We were denied because it was time for her annual physical. We knew this, and asked if we could have just a few day's worth until we were ale to get her up there again (we were in the middle of having a goat treated at the Vet school), like they had done 2 weeks previous for her heartworm meds. We were denied again. Obviously, the nurse thought it would be better for our dog NOT to have her thyroid meds then to extend them for the next few days. We weren't happy at all and asked her to forward our dog's files because we were going back to Bowman Animal Hospital (BAH) whom we had used for 30+ years before moving to WF. We brought our dog to BAH the next week. They opined several things about our dog's platelet & liver problems, none of which we had EVER heard, throughout the 4.5 month process from WFAH. Indeed, one of the WFAH's shots might have actually caused the low platelets. Now, we're not blaming WFAH for possible causing the problem but we are blaming them for not alerting us to the fact that a certain shot they gave her was a possible cause, much like we learned from Blue Pearl (and NOT from WFAH) that the steroids were likely causing the liver panels to be out of whack. In summation, though 95% of the people at WFAH are friendly, I simply no longer trust them with our animals' care. I'm sure they're OK for routine stuff like shots and minor injuries, but don't throw anything tough at them. Three stars because they're better than nothing and are genuinely nice--most of them

Dr. Manning and his staff are an awesome team! They just performed surgery on my dog Chip and were great at keeping us updated with his status during the day while he recovered. We had to visit their office several times during the lockdown and on a couple of those visits, Dr. Manning would personally bring Chip out to the car to discuss how the appointment went. They are even open late a few days a week which helps if we need an appointment after work. I would recommend you try them out if you are looking for a local vet.

Great animal hospital and they do a terrific job with our cats snd dog. I wish they’d bring back the curbside service though!!!! It is stressful bringing out pets inside. Being able to set in our car for the past year was wonderful!

New client here and they were fantastic! Curbside for now but they were prompt, friendly, and thorough. Looking forward to actually meeting more of the staff someday! ???? Update: we LOVE Dr Mullin. She is so wonderfully thorough and even asks how our other animals are doing when we bring one in. Seriously the best veterinarian I've ever experienced (and I worked in the industry for a while!). Love WFAH! ????

We love Wake Forest Animal Hospital! Our dogs have had a few odd health issues and the vets have always been very honest and realistic with us and provided several options. The staff is always super friendly and sweet to our pups when they take them in. They have done a great job handling COVID and implementing a new system. I also love that they have an app, makes scheduling appointments very easy!

I just started seeing this vet when I got 2 puppies Nov 2020. So far I am extremely impressed!! I love the fact that they have an app!!! My other vet did not. Everyone I have spoken to is just so nice. It’s unfortunate I can’t actually meet the vets due to Covid, but so far I am very impressed and would recommend them!!
