Words can’t express how grateful I am that I found this place. They walk and talk you through every step of the process. They also give you time to spend with your baby before and after. They were truly so kind and compassionate the entire time. I know Bella was comfortable and went in peace and that allowed me to have some peace and comfort as well. I will miss her and love her everyday but, I’m glad I have this peaceful last memory with her . Thank you so much ????❤️

When you are faced with the unimaginable death of your beloved pet you could only hope to have Dr. Tyler Carmack's team to help you through this process. Dr. Carmack thank you for making a heartbreaking experience a little bit easier. Briele was exemplary in her customer service skills and kindness. We thank you.

Thanks so much for all the loving care of my bestest friend and oldest cat. I could not have gotten through this without you. You were so gentle and kind and loving as his life was coming to an end. It’s not something that I will ever get over. Thank you for the picture urn, his paw print with his name, the lovely cards and flower seeds that I will plant in his honor. I haven’t been able to choose which pic to put in it but I will post when I do. May you all be Blessed now and always!

Best place to put your pet to rest. I had to put down my fur baby the other day. But I can not even begin to tell you how wonderful they took care of my baby. He was struggling and they made sure to ask all the questions they needed to, to make sure he went peacefully. Every question I had they made sure to answer. I even asked for a paw print so I can get a tattoo of it and they made sure to ask if I wanted the nose as well. A couple days after grieving for my pup, they sent a wonderful letter and some seeds along to plant for my baby. I wish they did do the tradition of kisses for dogs, where they give your dog a Hershey kiss before going over to rainbow heaven, but never the less the pricing and service are unbeatable. If you want your fur baby to be taken care of, these are the people.

I have unfortunately had to use their services twice in the last few months. Once at 3am in the morning. The vet was quick, calming and reassuring. This second time with a different vet has been the same experience on a Sunday afternoon. Your job must be so incredibly difficult, but thank you so much for the peace you being everyday.

Losing a fur baby is so incredibly painful and you are at your most vulnerable state. I absolutely appreciated how kind, considerate and caring they were when we had a home visit. I cant imagine doing this any other way. I absolutely recommend and I also would recommend Jeanette. She’s so kind and does an amazing job walking you through the steps. Even after our kitty had passed, she carried her and treated her with so much care and dignity.

We adopted Shadow 12 years ago when she was already 5 years old. She was wonderfully healthy and had an amazing well loved life with us. She developed Cushing's several months ago. She had one major seizure and survived it, subsequently her health declined and her quality of life was getting too low to make her keep hanging on. We called HRHVET on a Tuesday and they were here the next day. I can't say enough about this process for something that was so hard to decide to do and be a part of the process was so much better than the experiences i have had with the in vet office approach. Also Shadow's "little sister" Bella is much better adjusted we believe for having chosen this approach instead of the traditional. Dr. Schacher was AMAZING such a great "bedside" manner (more for us than for Shadow really), great communication. I paid nearly twice this cost for euthanizing a cat in vet office over 20 years ago so i am VERY confident that their pricing is more than fair and likely competes with the in office cost. Thank you so very much Dr. Schacher and team!

Our sweet lab Molly got cancer and was given 3 months to live. She said heck, no, and we had her for another year after her cancer surgery. Sadly, her cancer returned and we made the heartbreaking decision to euthanize her. Dr. Economos was an calming and compassionate influence during this difficult time, allowing us sufficient time to say our goodbyes in the comfort of our home with Molly. Such a sad event was made much more bearable by Dr. Economos' sincerity and professionalism. I wouldn't want her job - but I am so grateful she does it for pets and pet parents.

Dr Jeanette was so kind and she took really good care prepping my baby to go to sleep. My pup was almost 14, I was devastated and in shock. Jeanette allowed me to hold my pup until the end while we were at home. Her patience, kindness and bedside manner helped me make the right decision. Thank you Hampton Roads

Losing a fur baby isn’t just losing a fur baby, they are part of the family. I am so glad I went through HRVH because they made a horrible and dreadful situation just a little better with their vets care and support….for both animal and humans. Dr. Schacher answered all my questions and was so loving and compassionate to my Rupert. I hope to never have to use HRVH again, but if I do….I know where to call.

My husband and I went back and forth regarding the decision to let our baby go...he had fought cancer for over a year and he fought hard. We finally knew when it was time and I was so very thankful for Hampton Roads Veterinary Hospice who visited our home, even in these uncertain times with Covid, they still offer this in home service. It was one of the hardest things we have had to do but being at home with our little Pug who has been a member of our family for 13 years made this so much easier for him. He always had anxiety and with them visiting our home we were able to offer the comfort of us holding him and talking to him through the process. It was not in any way an easy thing but we wanted what was best for him and so did they. We received a clay paw print with his name and later he was delivered back to us in his final little resting place along with a poem, paw prints on paper, and flower seeds to plant in his memory. We later received a hand written card signed by the staff...this personal touch is not offered in these times and Our family was so thankful.

One of the hardest decisions was putting our sweet dog down. It is very difficult and is a family member. Hampton Roads Vet provided us with an outstanding service and was nothing but professional and compassionate. Great job

As sad as the day was, Jeanette and Savanna were extremely patient, kind, and professional. The entire process starting with Katie in the office, helped us to grieve respectfully. Our fur baby will be greatly missed. Thank you for all your compassion and understanding.

Making the decision to let Dooley go was one of the hardest decisions I've ever made. After being somewhat traumatized by putting my childhood dog down in a cold, sterile vet's office, I knew I needed something different for Dooley. Dr. Cubelo was so kind and compassionate and helped me know that I was making the right and best choice for Dooley. I can't imagine the difficulty of having that job, but I know for a fact that the service you provide is a gift to those of us losing our companions. Thank you for walking with us through this difficult time.

Just outstanding! Such compassion, friendliness, warmth, understanding, patience and caring. I'm choking back tears now writing this. If you are ever unfortunate enough to have to be in a situation to need these amazing people, you could not put yourself in better hands. We recently had to make the decision with our blonde bombshell, Cross. It was such a huge blessing for her to be surrounded by our family, even in these unprecedented times of COVID-19, these absolutely fantastic people came to our home with only 24 hrs notice and helped our 4 legged family member across the rainbow bridge. I can not speak highly enough of these wonderful people and their service. Thank you! ♥️

We couldn't be more thankful for a place like this. The vet was very attentive and patient with our dog. We appreciated the fact that she came to our home last night. Our dog was a great dane and had difficulty meeting new people. He has been experiencing hip pain for the past year and we knew last night was going to be our last time that we would see him. We recommend this place to anyone who needs the comfort to give their pet peace.

I can't say enough good things about every interaction we had with Hampton Roads Veterinary Hospice. We had to part with our beloved 17 year old cat, Prince Charming, and the decision had to made very quickly due to his failing health. We reached out via the website on Saturday July 4th and within an hour Kady responded to us. On Sunday when we decided we needed to let him go, Kady responded to us within minutes and Dr. Economos was able to be at our house within 2 hours. Dr. Economos was so kind through the whole process and it made such a difficult time so much easier to handle. The aftercare process was wonderful and the personal touches added were so meaningful. I will be forever grateful that we had the choice to say goodbye at home. To Kady, Dr. Economos, and everyone at Hampton Roads Vet Hospice, thank you so much for your care and compassion during this very difficult time.

They are experts at the top of their game and so loving to my 12 year old cat with his weekly acupuncture appointments for his bad hip and arthritis. They are helping him walk again and I have seen a miraculous improvement. That communication, good veterinary expertise, 6 stars all the way!

My wife and I are so incredibly grateful for the Hampton Roads Veterinary Hospice’s virtual pet loss support group and its lead, Lindsay. Lindsay provided much-needed comfort, care, and support after the recent loss of our beloved dog. Lindsay and Hampton Roads Veterinary Hospice truly understand the importance of pets in our lives.

Words can never properly express how grateful I am to have veterinarians who provide such a vital service in our community. My pet rat Chloe had become incredibly sick and instead of making the trip to a vet's office and traumatizing her in a cold room away from her sister, Dr. Schacher came to my house and peacefully let my girl go with kindness, compassion and dignity. These vets are the best and will treat your pets with the utmost respect. Highly recommend to anyone facing the difficult decision of letting their babies go peacefully.

I think perhaps Sassy's (and my) experience were not typical in that Sassy lived for two years with a liver tumor after I had been told by my vet that she likely wouldn't last more than a month. I share that to say I had an extended period …

What a great and sad experience we had this week when we had to put our wonderful Pierre to sleep unexpectedly. The vet was very kind and he passed at our home. It made all the difference in the world. They even made a little paw print from him for something to remember him by. Highly recommend, I think it has made it easier for our other dog because he was able to be there and has a better understanding of where his brother went. ????
