After being told the wait could be up to 3 hours I was surprised and my cat was taken within the hour. The front desk was incredible and even helped keep my little one entertained while I was handling payment and paperwork which was such a nice gesture on their part!!! The doctor was so patient and answered my questions and made me feel confident I was doing the best for my cat! Hopefully I don’t have any future emergencies for my animals but I’d happily return here if I do!!!

Don’t waste your time or money! I took my dog there once after he was at daycare due to my vet being closed and he could no walk, waited almost 6 hours to be seen and spent over $1k for them to get it wrong! Told me nothing was wrong just a sprain to find out later it was broken by his vet! Several people have been turned away due to them being “at capacity”. Rude staff! They just suck

I took my dog here a few days ago. She had to have surgery. They were way out of my price range. However, they called around and found another hospital that would take my dog right away and for less than half the cost. That to me is excellent customer service. They could have just let me know the price and released my animal when i said i couldnt afford it financially.

Just picked up the ashes of my family pet, the display was so beautiful. It came with a wooden box for the ashes, along with a clay paw print in a picture frame, both engraved with my pets name. I love how caring the vet staff is, and how much they cared about making sure the last remains of our beloved doggo will be a precious memory we can have forever. Thank you Blue Pearl VA Beach!

When we needed someone the most, this vet was available, understanding, and went the extra step for our dog, Noele, in a time that she needed care and compassion. We tried every in-home euthanasia company in the area, none could get us in their schedule, we tried The Cove and they basically, did everything they could to not get us in. When I called BluePearl, they not only fit us in but they bent over backwards to accommodate us in every way possible. Noele was comfortable in her last moments with us and we couldn't be more grateful for the doctors and assistants that made everything easy in the most painful moments. I cannot thank Blue Pearl enough for what they gave us and Noele.

Based on my singular experience in oct 21 , I have no idea why this place only has a 3 star average. I brought my 12 year old german shepherd here believing she was dying but I also did not have a phone to call in first due to the Covid hysteria protocols. I urgently knocked on the door and explained my situation. Without question several people rushed out and immediately picked my baby girl up and had her in the back working on her before they ever even knew mine or hers name. Very compassionate staff and grade A service. And they didnt break my wallet. Thank you to everyone who works there.

I've been coming in this location several times, they always were able to take care of my dogs and I expended thousands of dollars in this location last time I took my dog because was an emergency. without seeing my dog or asking what was wrong with her; they told me that they were not able to take her, they said they were busy. The technician or whatever he was, he was really rude. Never again. Thankfully there's another place are better and more professionals than this place like "BAY BEACH". Sorry blue perl, you lost a good client. BAY BEACH IS BETTER.

I went in,referred by my vet to carry my Japanese chin in for pneumonia. The two receptionists had no interest in assisting me with my emergency. When I first pulled up to the hospital the sign said call for service, upon answering they asked did I mine holding for a brief hold,I said no problem, after brief turned into a extreme hold,I went in and ofcourse two receptionists were at the desk not assisting a customer at the counter or on the phone. So I asked could I get my dog on the list and informed them about the referral. Needless to say they were no help and we left to find another ER.

We have our dog break a leg and we attempted to contact several vets with no luck. One call to Blue Pearl and they jumped in and took care of everything to take care of our puppy 100% would recommend Blue Pearl

I brought my cat there because he was in horrible shape I was told “we don’t have a doctor here”. How does an emergency pet hospital that advertises being open 24/7 not have a doctor 24/7?

Called them to get my puppy treated two days in a row and they told me it would be a 8 hour wait. I mentioned to the receptionist that my puppy was dying and they did nothing and now my dog is DEAD. Thanks

My pup a Charlie was a 9 year old Cavalier King Charles Spaniel and was my son and best friend. This good boy kept me sane during the entire Pandemic I would move the world for him. After his check up at his primary Vet we discovered he had a heart murmur. It was a stage three but due to his breed I had concerns because Almost half of his breed die from some type of heart condition. About a month after his diagnosis Charlie’s condition worsened . He abdomen began to fill with fluid and his breathing was labored. I called around and no one would see him. It was one of the most difficult things I have ever been though. I called Blue Pearl and they rushed me in. Unfortunately my fear was correct. Charlie was very sick and didn’t have long. The doctor walked me though the process and gave me as much time needed to say good bye to the goodest boy of all time. My soul was crushed rebut their kindness made the final Moments with my sweet prince survivable. I’m not sure where the negative reviews come from but 5 stars from me. They could have taken advantage of my emotional state and I would have paid anything for a chance for my boy to make it just one more day. But their honesty allowed my boy to go peacefully. Love you Charlie best son ever.

First of all let me thank the Vet and staff and this facility. This is an excellent pet hospital and we would definitely highly recommend them. We were on vacation in the area and our small dog had swallowed a steak bone and we were concerned it could be potentially dangerous. So we called this facility and from the beginning they showed concern and got our dog to be seen. They were very professional the Vet explained everything and put us at ease. After being we were sitting waiting to pay the charges and they came over to us and told us there would be no charge. This is almost unheard of, needless to say we were totally surprised.

Other puppies were put priority on top of mine after I told them my puppy was vomiting not eating trembling and shaking. They show favoritism to certain clients. I feel discriminated against. Other people pulled up right away and were seen as soon as they pulled up but I have been waiting for THREE hours. UNACCEPTABLE.

NOT REGISTERED ONCOLOGISTS!! I'll keep this short. My dog has cancer. He needs chemo once a week. I got a call a day before his appointment to reschedule for two days later. I asked if should just take him to the other Blue Pearl in the area. I was told no because two days will not make a difference and the doctor likes to keep his patients. While I did not like that answer, I trusted them. THEN the day before my dog's now rescheduled appoint, I get another call saying they need to reschedule AGAIN because the doctor is sick. And the other Blue Pearl's doctor is on vacation... Their response was "I'm sorry" If you care for your pet, stay away from Blue Pearl. So we found another vet that got our dog in immediately. I wont provide a name because I don't want it to be seen as a paid review. The place was in Richmond, just to demonstrate how far we were willing to go to get our dog taken care. The ACTUAL oncologist at this new vet told us that Dr. Renaldi at Blue Pearl is NOT a registered oncologist. He simply has the ability to provide general chemo. Come to find out that Blue Pearl had not been treating our dog for his specific type of lymphoma and had been ignoring large masses on his chest. We went to Blue Pearl for 3-4 weeks. Paid them 2k a week... and they did a piss poor job and likely caused my dog to have 2-3 months less life. Thanks grifters.

They are using old out dated covid protocols as excuses to ignore their appointments and emergencies in front of them. Dont bring your pet here if it's an actual emergency. I personally was on hold and spoke to no one for 40 minutes waiting on an oncology appointment. Trying to get the attention of the actual check in staff is impossible. Health of your pet will not be a priority for the check in staff or anyone that answers the phone. I hope the doctors and specialists are much better here wish me luck. I've been waiting for this appointment too long to try to get another anywhere else.

Yes I had a long wait, yes they wouldn't let me leave, yes they were expensive but, they were busy and, I have to say, I was very happy with Dr. Patterson. She called me the next day and she explained everything to me and answered all my questions. They kept my cat for 24 hours and he was much better off when I picked him up. I had to pay the lower of the two estimates before they proceeded and I'm happy to say, when it was all said and done, I got a credit of $700. Since they won't let you leave they need to get a vending machine because people are there for hours on end. I know I was dying of thirst and just wanted to run up to the 7-11 or gas station and get a bottle of water. When I asked about a vending machine they told me their vendor had gone out of business, or something like that. On another note, one of the receptionist wasn't very pleasant but, as the night went on and I talked to her more, her demeanor softened and she was friendly towards the end of the night. We never know what other's are going through and kindness begets kindness. I really feel sorry for people who have had a bad experience here. Our pets are so much more than just animals and when we're at the level of an emergency we are in an emotional state because we love our animals so much and we just want them to feel better. It would be helpful if the staff were more compassionate and patient with us pet parents. It would also make everyone feel better if we could sit inside were it was cooler and feel like we were closer to our animals and not being forgotten. It also helps when your animals is in an emergency to be able to talk to others about what is going on. That isn't happening when most everyone has to stay in their car. I was a lucky one and was able to sit in the waiting room where I passed the time talking with others.

Said they were “on a pause” and not accepting new clients even after I stated that my dog had eaten a pin cushion and was having an actual emergency they referred me elsewhere. Completely ridiculous.

My dog ripped a nail off and was bleeding profusely. I was told she would need sedation from my vet but it was too late to do it there so I went to Blue Pearl, called from the curb just to be told sorry we are at capacity. There wasnt anyone even there.....don't take your pet here if you want compassion or any help.

First let me start by saying I have never experienced this much unprofessional, no compassion, horrible customer service, and unsympathetic on all my 54yrs here on earth. These people are strictly money hungry. They could never have been pet lovers. I took my baby in on June 5, 2021 he was very bad off. In a lot of pain. Sat outside waiting to hear from the doctor. Doctor called told me he was bad off and because of his age, he would probably end up with pneumonia and he would never be the same again. I was alone so I asked if I could get back with him after given different options and prices. When I called back the person that answered told me who she was and that she was coming out to talk to me. By that time my son and daughter-in-law were with me. She said she was mad because they were showing no compassion and that the only thing I would be charged for was the medication they gave my baby and the cremation. I told her I wanted private cremation she said she would let them know. However, when I got home, I realized I was charged for everything. Of course they dressed that up. It’s been almost two weeks I called on Tuesday to check on his remains which I was told would take a week and a half to two weeks and was told they would be there on Thursday or Friday. Called Friday and was told Monday. I got upset asked to speak to someone and was told there is nothing no one can do. I asked again to speak with someone and the receptionist hung up on me. Called back asked to speak with the supervisor told her what happened she calls the cremation company and they tell her it will be another week.3weeks. And from the beginning the doctor words were “I offer cremation here” never knew my baby’s remains were thrown in a bag and shipped somewhere else. These people are ridiculous!!!!!

Took my puppy there who was in active labor. They told me that she wouldn’t make it through the night if I didn’t have $4000 for a C-Section and that I should hand her over to Animal Control. Staff was very rude and unprofessional. I will never return! Just absolutely ridiculous!!

I’ve taken my cats here several times, after hours over the past few years with positive results. But today’s visit was horrible. I thought my 15 year old cat might be having a stroke because he couldn’t stand up. I arrived at 4:15 pm and was told there’s a 3 hour wait. I asked if I could sign in, go home and return in a few hours with the cat, and I was told “no”. So I sat here for 3 1/2 hours ... with my cat in a carrier, no water and no litter box. Finally someone called me and asked me a bunch of questions... symptoms, medical issues, Rx’s, etc and then someone finally came out and took my cat. She handed me a clipboard and told me to fill it out. It was the same exact info they had asked me in the phone. 45 minutes later... the doc called me and asked me questions. He suggested bloodwork. That was 2 1/2 hours ago and I’m still waiting for feedback and my cat. It’s freaking 11:00 at night and I’ve been here for almost 7 hours. When I call for a status, I’m told “we’ve had a lot of emergencies”. Well I guess they weren’t concerned that my cat might be having a stroke since they didn’t bother to even check on him or look at him for almost 4 hours. The last time I called was almost an hour ago and the girl told me she’d check on my cat and call me back. Never again!!!

Horrendous Place, tried to bring my extremely sick dog here and was told it was a 5-6 hour WAIT. What kind of emergency place can’t see a dog IN an emergency until 5-6 hours. On top of that the expect you to wait in the parking lot for this 5-6 hour timeframe, refuse to let you go home (where there is food and water for your pet) and say you lose your spot if you go home. What POS place and unsympathetic people who work there. The lady on the phone was rude and it wasn’t until after she had me on the phone for 15+ minutes to get all my info to inform me of the 5-6 hour wait. I hope all these people who work here have a hard time sleeping at night acting the way they do, you all should be ashamed to be in this profession and be this cruel to people who are already going thru enough having to bring a beloved pet to an emergency room. UPDATE THEY NEVER EVEN CALLED ME BACK, F YALL

DO NOT BRING YOUR PETS HERE! We called for an update on our sweet pup who was extremely sick and while they thought they put the phone on hold they did not and were talking poorly about us and cussing about our dog then hung up on us. It was super unprofessional and when I called back to ask what the hell just happened they were unsure of what I heard and that one of their vets could have been being bitten by a dog... they barely give you updates about your pet even when spending thousands of dollars. We will never bring any of our pets back here. Our dog was also a lot dirtier than when we brought him in and hadn’t had his face wiped.
