Dogwood Acres Boarding Kennels Sylva, North Carolina

It’s been awhile and just now reviewing. First incredibly rude. Had to wait hours for them to show up during business hours to pick up my dog. Then because I picked him up past 12 or 1 (forget) I had to pay an extra day. I was waiting for over 3 hours for him and before the cutoff time. Dog kenneled, no toys, no activity and he was miserable upon our arrival. Place was clean but customer service terrible. Never again. Rover.com and in home care from now on.

Roy and Vivian took such great care of my dog Sadie when I had to visit a sick family member last minute. Sadie needed medication and to be monitored because she was having seizures. Roy was in consistent communication with me, sending me videos and letting me know she was doing well and she was getting her medication. I had such a positive experience with boarding Sadie at Dogwood Acres. It's such a gorgeous property too! My kids said they expected fairies and woodland creatures to be hidden in the woods (they're not wrong - it's beautiful). Looking forward to boarding Sadie with them again when I go out of town.

My fiancé and I have been boarding our dog with Roy and Vivian at Dogwood Acres for our last few vacations and have nothing but good things to say about them! They are both super professional and excellent communicators. They are very punctual and run a first class operation. Upon arriving at the property we are always greeted with smiling faces and spotless kennels! The kennels are indoor/outdoor with a doggy door that they open when the weather permits. We always opt for a couple of nature hikes since our pit/Great Dane mix loves to be outside. Tucker is always happy and healthy when we get back to pick him up! In regards to a previous reviewer, my fiancé and I are not rich by any means! Roy and Vivian did not seem to mind at all that we were new clients under the age of 25. I highly recommend giving them a call and visiting the property if you need your pet boarded! You will not be disappointed ????????

We recently called Roy and Vivian at Dogwood Acres to see about boarding our two Great Pyrenees dogs after being recommended by an local animal care clinic but were completely baffled by the way we were treated. First off, it is evident that they only cater to the rich as displayed by their snobby attitude. We were told that he takes care of his regular clientele first and then accepts outsiders, if need be, but here’s the kicker. Your dog has to be housebroken even though he has outside kennels....care to know why? Because he doesn’t want to clean up the mess! Obviously someone who boards canines should have some knowledge of different types of breeds and their specific duties. We have a large farm and our two Great Pyrenees patrol the property......do you think they are housebroken? We were told they would have to be housebroken first! What the hell? Seriously reconsider boarding your pet at this place because he commented that he doesn’t like cleaning up after the dogs and doesn’t have a clue about breeds. When my wife suggested that we come and view the kennels, Roy told us that we may come out and not like the kennels, we may not like him or his wife, he may not like me or my wife and not want to do business with us! Hahaha.... can’t make this stuff up folks. I wouldn’t have even given this place one star but Google made me!
