We adopted Sight last month from PRH and couldn't be happier. He's become my walking buddy and fit right into our family. My daughter and I met several dogs on our first visit. Sight picked my daughter and when Mark said that's our dog he was absolutely correct. Nancy and Kimberly have be great with our many questions about greyhounds. Would recommend PRH to anyone interested in adding a new friend.

Good place to pick up a Greyhound. As you can see Hope has made herself at home.

I have volunteered here many times with my sister. I let my sister do all the work and I mainly kiss and love on all the greyhounds. All the dogs are so sweet and most have a quirky personality. PRH loves and takes great care of these dogs until they are adopted. It is a lot of work but they are dedicated to finding them all homes. With the closure of the race tracks in FL they are an abundance of greyhounds. If you are looking for a furever friend a greyhound might just be what you need.

We adopted Kasino 4 months ago. Kasino came home with us having explosive diarrhea, and Project Racing home did tell us he probably had hookworms. Kasino tested positive for worms and we treated the worms and he later tested negative for worms. Kasino still had explosive diarrhea daily, many times, and was dehydrated, and underweight. After 3-4 vet visits we learned Kasinos body was metabolizing his muscle and that he was allergic to nearly every natural protein, grass, trees and insects.. We began him on a allergy shot regime at the recommendation of our vet and fed him hydrolyzed prescription food. We understand their are unfortunate cases of disease. What aggravated the hell out of us was when we returned Kasino to PRH as per the contract, the lady dismissed any of the information we had to offer about Kasinos situation and blamed the environment he was in. She did not inquire into anything about Kasinos life with us, instead she cut off our sentences and left us standing their in the lobby. We loved Kasino and spent a thousand dollars on him to figure out what was wrong with him and the treatment we received from the elderly blonde lady with short hair was wretched. It is hard enough returning your dog, and customer service from PRH staff was totally unacceptable. Sincerely, Bo

I can update more later, BUT every interaction here thus far has been a pleasure entirely. Not just from the attention to detail with the needs and desires, but also the options proposed. I'm hopeful for more positive interactions in the future.

Greyt place. We have two retired racers that have been the best dogs we've had. Our daughter just got her first.

The staff at Project Racing Home are absolutely amazing. After a short conversation, they narrowed down the list of dogs to ones they thought would be a good fit for us. The first dog our guide showed us was introduced with the phrase "You don't need to meet any other dog in here. This one is for you." We looked at a few dogs before enthusiastically going with the first dog. The guide was absolutely right even though it took us a while to realize it. These people are experts and will help you find the perfect companion (or three).

Project Racing Home is a great group to work with. They genuinely care about matching the best dog to the best home. They provide tons of helpful information about adopting a retired racing greyhound to help potential adopters determine if it's the breed for them. Then, if you fill out the adoption application prior to your visit and let them know when you plan to come, they'll have dogs suitable to your needs and personality picked out for you to meet. All of the dogs are tested with the kennel's cat to determine if they're "cat safe," and are often tested multiple times. With one of the dogs we were considering, they went ahead and retested him right in front of us - they had wanted to verify his reaction would be consistent, but it also gave us a chance to see the process and feel more comfortable with bringing one of their dogs home to our 3 cats. Once you've chosen your new companion, the adoption paperwork includes a great information packet full of transition tips and more breed specific information, including a card listing normal ranges of lab values that are different in greyhounds and examples of safe and unsafe flea and tick medications. They are also very responsive to any questions you may have following the adoption and will do what they can to ensure a successful match. They have probably dealt with nearly all the possible complications and have great advice to help the humans and the pups. However, if it does seem to simply be a bad match and it's within 14 days of the adoption, adopters may return the dog and either select a different one at no extra cost, or they can choose to get a refund (excluding the $100 deposit required to hold the dog at the start of the adoption process). I found that policy quite comforting as there can always be unexpected issues, especially with other pets in the home. Our girl has been a fantastic addition to our family and we couldn't be happier. If I can convince my husband to get another one, we would absolutely return to PRH. As it is, we enjoy the events they have and appreciate that they offer a very affordable option for boarding. We've used the service several times and our girl loves visiting the other greyhounds, and we know she's well taken care of. If you think you might have a place in your home for a 45 mph couch potato, check PRH out!
