Gave me the wrong time frame for license approval. Said to submit Sunday to have approval by Wednesday. They did not clarify it was a week from Wednesday, so 10 days, not 3 for license verification after passing the exam.

I had some serious concerns about a vet office and some things I observed and found very disturbing. I acted out of concern for animals, nothing more. I was an employee, not a client, and could not provide meducal records. After waiting 3 months with no response, I left a message about my letter and what the findings were. The next day I received a return call from a Dr. Shadler (?) who was condescending and acted annoyed that he even had to speak to me. He made it very clear I was wasting his time. He stated that they never responded because there was "no need to take action". So he dismissed me and my concerns with a wave of the hand. Not even the courtesy of a call or letter from them. I had to track down an answer. He was a very unpleasant man, and this office didnt have enough courtesy to respond to a concerned citizen, basically they couldnt be bothered. Someone like this shouldnt have anything to do with animal care. This office is a joke. If you have a problem with a vet practice, head straight to a lawyer. NC Vet Board is a major farce. They twiddle their thumbs as animals die.

I had some questions about criminal backgrounds and how they affect whether or not you can get a license to practice. I sent an email to the executive director Schadler, who responded promptly and on a Saturday, the day after Christmas at that. He was very helpful!

Horrible experience. No help at all, completely on the vet’s side so don’t waste your precious time dealing with them. They will appease you for a short time with paperwork only to tell you no wrong doings on the vet’s part in the end.

Looks like my previous recommendation got removed! I’m still undergoing medical treatment for the trauma the veterinarian, vet tech, and staff caused to me! It was so horrific! I’m suffering with anxiety, panic attacks, and a PTSD. The veterinarian and staff were so dishonest with the board in regards to what really happened in an emergency Vet. My loved one is gone, and so much fabrication to cover up what really took place in there. It definitely added insult to injury! The board looks out for the veterinarians.

They deserve NO stars, but couldn't post without one! Awful, just awful! They take up for inhumane vets, even when they know wrong was done. Who are they accountable to? No one---that's the problem! Crooked as ----.

I FILED A COMPLAINT IN REGARDS TO MY 34 YEAR OLD HORSE COLIC EMERGENCY...THE VET TOOK 5 HOURS TO ARRIVE TO MY FARM. THE VETERINARY BOARD STATED THERE WAS INSUFFICIENT INFORMATION TO CONCLUDE THAT MY HORSES COLIC WAS AN EMERGENCY. EVERY HORSE OWNER KNOWS THAT EVERY SINGLE COLIC IS AN EMERGENCY AND TIME IS CRUCIAL FOR RECEIVING TREATMENT. I ASKED THE BOARD TO ANSWER THE QUESTION OF WHEN IS COLIC NOT AN EMERGENCY AND THEY WROTE ME BACK STATING THAT MY CASE WAS CLOSED. WHEN I SWITCHED VETERINARIANS THEY TOLD ME THAT THEY COULD PROVIDE EMERGENCY SERVICES IN MY AREA. THE MAIN ISSUE I HAD IN MY COMPLAINT WAS THE 5 HOUR DELAY IN GETTING TO MY FARM AND THE PRACTICE OWNER STATED TO THE BOARD ALTHOUGH THEY HAVE CLIENTS IN MY COUNTY THEY CANNOT PROMISE THEY CAN PROVIDE EMERGENCY SERVICES. THIS IS NOT WHAT I WAS TOLD AND I SIMPLY WANTED AN ANSWER OF WHEN THE POLICY CHANGED AND THEY REFUSE TO ANSWER THAT QUESTION. I WAS ALSO NOT OFFERED AN ULTRASOUND ON MY HORSE AND I ASKED WHY. THE VETERINARIAN TOLD THE BOARD THAT ULTRASOUNDS ARE NOT OFFERED OR PERFORMED IN THE FIELD. I HAVE A FRIEND WHO HAS HAD NUMEROUS ULTRASOUNDS PERFORMED BY THIS VET AT HER FARM AND I WANTED AN ANSWER TO THE QUESTION OF WHEN DID THEY STOP PERFORMING ULTRASOUNDS IN THE FIELD AND THEY WILL NOT ANSWER THAT QUESTION AS WELL I HAD A PHONE CONVERSATION WITH THE NC VETERINARY MEDICAL BOARD AND THEY INTERROGATED ME AS IF I WAS THE PERSON BEING ACCUSED OF WRONG DOING. I THOUGHT THE VETERINARY BOARD WOULD HELP ME IN THIS MATTER BUT THEY HAVE DISMISSED A SERIOUS COMPLAINT. IN A NEWS STORY ON WRAL ON MAY 1, TOD SCHADLER OF THE NCVMB STATED TO THE REPORTER THAT "THIS BOARD DOES NOT WORK TO PROTECT THE VETERINARY PROFESSION...OUR JOB IS FOR THE PEOPLE AND THE ANIMALS OF THIS STATE. THE PROFESSION DOESNT ENTER INTO IT". I FIND THIS VERY HARD TO BELIEVE AS THE WAY MY COMPLAINT WAS HANDLED AND DISMISSED.
