I love Magnolia Animal Hospital! I've been using Magnolia since 2011 and they are one of the best vets in Raleigh. I have 7 furbabies and they give great, affordable care. They also accept SPCA Spay & Neuter vouchers (which most vets don't) so you can get your pet fixed at a far more reasonable price than other vet hospitals. Jr. Jon cares about your pets and is never after your money. I've had everything from checkups to major surgeries here, and their prices are always extremely reasonable and they never push you to do procedures your pets don't need. I no longer live in Raleigh but I still drive the 40 minutes to get here, I won't trust my pets anywhere else. I highly recommend them!

Your schedule is more important than the needs of the animals brought in. You are unable to accept constructive criticism. You were negligent by refusing my dog his appointment. You are not prepared to see clients . You are very disorganized. I left my house so I could check in 15 minutes before my appointment time. I arrived 7 minutes late due to Raleigh traffic. This is completely out of my control. Already stressed, we entered the building and were told to wait over at a table for check in. After waiting, a lady took my dogs weight. Then she asked if I had the dogs vet records.I produced them and I told her they were faxed over as well , maybe she could check.?She said well you have to reschedule because I don't have time to put the information in the computer. This should have already been done. I explained that my dog really needed to see a vet. I went on to say that I was a professional and I couldn't help that we were late. I was pleading at this point. The office manager looked at my dog, said we could wait for 1 hour and get the 4:30 appointment. I said yes I will wait. I found someone's Vic card in the waiting area, so trying to do the right thing, I returned it at the desk. Asking to place this in the lost and found. After this, I turned my chair so I could watch TV. Then the office manager came over to me in a huff and said she was refunding my money. I asked why, we are willing to wait? There was no reason given. She told me to take my dog and go someplace else. My poor dog needed to be seen so I asked her are you a vet? She said no she was the office manager. I thought how did she know the medical conditions of my dog and what he needed? I was never intentionally rude to anyone at that office. I was an advocate for my dog.I was not given any explanation why we were being dismissed, just told to leave and I left in tears. This was negligence, possibly criminal. My dog was seen by a compassionate office at another location. He was diagnosed with terminal cancer.,and has a few weeks to live. A vet at that practice was informed of the office manager's behavior and treatment of a potential client and her dying dog. Also when I made the appointment I was not informed of any online forms to fill out. You need to be able to take constructive criticism. Your schedule should never be your top priority. If returning lost property upset the management, or turning my chair to watch TV while I waited upset the office management, then they need a new team up front. As a professional you take the time listen with empathy and understanding. You assist and realize that no one is not trying to upset anyone . they're trying to get help because they are advocating for themselves or a loved one. What we were going through.was heart breaking. there was a no empathy or caring. I will never go back there again. I sincerely hope that whomever owns this practice will revisit ithe incident with the staff and problem solve how they could have handled this differently. They need educated so they do not handle your customers in this manner. They should not be fueling their egos.

My puppy hurt her leg over the weekend and I contacted Magnolia Monday 9/20 to leave a message to see if she can be seen. I THANKFULLY received a call back and was squeezed in same day appt 3:40pm. Wait time at check in is longer than usual as previous times to the hospital due to short staff. However, Dr. John quickly assessed her issue once seen and thankful again he was able to squeeze her in for next day surgery due to a broken back leg. Dr. John called me later that afternoon to ensure my little girl did well through surgery and wanted to keep her overnight for observation being so young and small as a Yorkie and I could pick her up end of next day. I am EXTREMELY thankful to Dr. John as well as I have seen Dr. Vargas previously as well and always receive top service from them. Receiving just as good customer service from the front desk is equally as important to any good practice that I unfortunately experienced miscommunication challenges this time during surgery drop off that in previous times did not have to experience that I hope will get better.

The only reason I’m giving this place two stars is because the vets are knowledgeable and skilled. In terms of professionalism, I’ve been extremely disappointed. Calling and getting a hold of someone is nearly impossible and if you go and pick up your dog you’re going to wait 30+ minutes or more. They also do not return phone calls or put you at ease when you’re trying to call in to get updates about your animal— my dog recently had surgery and they never called in to let me know to pick up my dog… literally picked him up 10 minutes before close because of their lack of communication. And most recently, I actually went into the facility to seek advice about my dog and of course no one was available so the front desk person reassured me that one of the doctors would give me a call back, and again, to my surprise, they didn’t. Also, I felt like they never really took the time to examine my dog as a whole… for example, he was recently neutered and I had asked several times about them looking at his teeth… they said he was a growing puppy and to not worry about it… thought it was strange he had so many teeth so I went to get a second opinion… only to find out they could have pulled them during his neuter so he wouldn’t have to do the anesthesia again. Now, my baby has to undergo a separate surgery and I have to pay additional for this service because of their lack of counsel. It’s a little less about the phone answering and more about the lack of communication as a whole. Yeah, sorry but I do not recommend this place to anyone.

I loved Dr. Jon. Sadly, you can only see him now if your pet is ill or injured. In addition to regular shots they now require annual wellness checkup. Pricey with three dogs. It's no longer worth the 25 minute drive.

This place is awesome! I called them to get an appointment for my fur baby. My cat had some sort of allergic reaction on his skin. It was sore and looked terrible! They got me an appointment and the whole experience was fantastic! The staff was warm and friendly, the doctor was very knowledgeable and thorough, the place was very clean, and the price just couldn't be beat! I mean, the visit, exam, treatment, and meds cost less than $100. I was expecting it to cost more! I was pleasantly surprised, to say the least. It is also close to my house. I plan on using this place for continued care for my pet. I not only give them two thumbs up, but I highly recommend coming here for your pets needs.

They spayed my kitten and less than a week later she had a internal infection from the spay and they charged me $185 for x-rays antibiotic and pain meds. Thought possibly since they did the spay they'd cut a break on infection that they possibly caused. ????

Errr what? I was on hold for 10 minutes, then someone picked up to let me know I was going to be put back on hold. I feel like I’m calling the dmv or something, a robot to direct the calls? For a vets office? If you’re going to make it that difficult for customers to get a hold of you, just put your pricing on the website. I do not have time for this.

The vets themselves are amazing they take great care of the animals. But somethings happened in the last few years with this ownership they don’t have operational knowledge. Excuses seems to be what their best at in terms of running the business. After contacting them about my sick dog and then being put on hold for 30 minutes straight I decided to get a new vet.

Magnolia Animal Hospital is the best veterinary hospital in Raleigh NC. They have cared for my animals since 2002 through 2021. Dr. Jon is a fantastic person.

Dr. John is such a nice and a talented doctor. He saved my dogs life and gave her more time to live. I don't trust many people especially with my Animals but he's one you can trust. Staff is great, especially Timber. She loaned me gas money to get back home cause I forgot my wallet due to a emergency with my dog being rushed in one day. Best prices in Raleigh with quality service too. They're unbelievably cheaper than everyone else by far. Been to many vets in my day and Magnolia is definitely my favorite for so many reasons. Highly recommend.

I am not normally one to post reviews, however this awful experience warrants a negative review. I took my dog to Magnolia today and had him seen under an emergency condition. My dog was not well and was very anxious and barked during the 2 hours and 40 minutes that we waited to be seen. He was never aggressive, he is simply an anxious Weimaraner. Once the Veterinarian (Dr. Long) came in for the exam, he spent the majority of the time scolding me about coddling my dog while he barks and told me that I am just making matters worse. I asked if he could see and treat my dog for the vomiting and diarrhea that I brought him in for and not try to offer any behavior tips, as this is not the time nor place. He then responded by saying “JESUS” as he walk out of the room. If ever my dog needs emergency services again, I will travel to the opposite end of the globe before I return to Magnolia.

An experienced veterinarian staff, with a long standing core crew. They're affordable (for medical care of this caliber), and most importantly to me, they still really love animals. I've seen my vet cry with us as we sent one of ours over the rainbow bridge.

Service was terrible. When my husband was there with my dog for her scheduled appointment they didn’t even know who I was talking about or that she was there. She was scheduled for a procedure and they never actually scheduled her for it so she ended up having to spend the night to have it done the next day. She was to be done by lunch time or early morning, after calling at 12 to check on her they said they’d call back that she was in the back being taken care of at the moment. Called back again at 330 and she still hadn’t had the procedure because of issues with the machine. At 7pm finally got a call that she was done, now we live 45 mins away and they close at 8, so we had to rush to go get her because they couldn’t update us earlier in the day. Finally got her, they let my husband take her and said he didn’t owe anything, he told them we didn’t pay and to call us if we end up owing something because we knew what the cost was and didn’t pay in advance. I called for three weeks multiple times to get her test results and they kept saying they would call back and never did. I kept telling them I know I owe money because we never paid when we left and never received the call the next morning. They wouldn’t take my card number because they kept saying I didn’t owe anything, however I knew I did. Then I was told the vet sent them to my vet, but when I called my vet they never received them. The 4th time I called the guy told me they weren’t sent to my vet because I didn’t pay. I told him I had my card in my hand, he then took my info, I paid (my full bill) and then my dogs results were sent to my vet! He told me that there was a note on my account to have me pay and he’s not sure why no one I talked to would take my info. He also said he wasn’t sure why they wouldn’t let me know that’s why there was a hold up. Even though I told everyone I spoke to the three times prior I needed to pay yet and if that was the reason why my vet didn’t receive the results I would pay. They just kept saying I didn’t owe anything. My dog is sick and it took 3 weeks for her results to get to my vet because of the miscommunication with the employees within this vet. I do not recommend going to this vet ever! They will put you on hold and answer the phone multiple times just to put you on hold again. Your appointment will be messed up. They tried to charge me for stuff they had on record of my dog. Her shots were all up to date because we have been going to vets weekly for testing and I had all her shot records with dates but they tried to tell me she was out of date and that’s why her appointment couldn’t have been done that day it was scheduled. I highly recommend you saving yourself some time and stress and going to any other vet. I have had great luck at pet sound animal hospital if you need a recommendation.

This was my first visit, and it was rather hectic in there, and you can tell that they've been in that same location for a long time, but that didn't make a difference. It was clean, which I think is important because that takes a lot of work and you can tell that they stay on it. I realized after being in there for a little while that regardless of all the paper flying and the phones ringing off the hook, the girls at the front desk work like a well-oiled machine ????. They never seem to lose their patience, and they're just so sweet. All the other people I saw there were also just as nice and friendly. On top of that, I really like the vet! Go figure, ????. Overall it really was a good experience. Hopefully my subsequent visits will be as pleasant and successful. P.S. The prices are really fair.
