Make sure you get a good trainer. Instead of researching reviews for the camp, search reviews for the trainers, make sure you chose one that has great ones and is responsive. In our case the trainer we got was curt, unfriendly, had no people skills, not a pleasant person. Our dog achieved 3 things in 3 weeks, and two of those we had trained for, she was just selective when she followed them or not. I sent a letter to the central office complaining about all the things that were wrong and our bad experience. After a week, the central office has not even acknowledged our email. Definitely not a place I can recommend. I have always had my dogs professionally trained, and this experience gets a D grade compared to others.

5-19-21, Tracy and Donnie, Thank god for you two and your wonderful company! We had a 80 LB Doberman that had a family at our wits end. Our initial call with you discussing his behavior issues and his medication made us feel very comfortable and we trusted you out of the gate. Our Sunday session with Donnie couldn't have gone better. We are incorporating what we were taught and now are speaking "DOG" to our pet and we are already seeing improvements. Our goal is to have a happier, more obedient, and less anxious dog and eventually stopping his medication completely! Thank you for everything! Your Dog Training Camp USA is 2nd to NONE!!!! Bella from Afghanistan! Kersti Moss is the best dog trainer in the Wake/Johnston Co area and I'm convinced that she is in fact the dog whisperer. We rescued Bella from Afghanistan in early 2020. Due to COVID-19 and flights being grounded, Bella was left in a shelter overseas for 7 months, with little to no human interaction. Bella had serious trust issues with humans, which lead to her breed characteristics being magnified by 1000. She is an Anatolian Shepherd and by nature they are very independent, stubborn and non trusting. She was extremely difficult to train, to the point where I had never seen anything like this. When interviewing trainers they all told us this was the worst case they too had ever seen. We had worked with several other trainers and just weren't making much progress. They all said this was the worst case they had seen. I hired Kersti for several reasons, but a few things stand out. She had the knowledge and experience we were looking for and had also dealt with issues like Bellas. While other trainers I interviewed were doom and gloom, Kersti was positive, confident and upbeat. It's her confidence is exactly what Bella needed in a "pack leader"/ trainer. I had several conversations prior making this decision, which gave me the confidence that I needed. Trust was key for me and we were confident that Kersti was the right trainer for us. We strategized prior to her departure on how we would get Bella into Kersti's car, which was no easy feat. We successfully got her into the car and off she went. I was extremely nervous for them for that 30 minute drive. My mind was put at ease, when I received their first "selfie" of their ride that day. Bella was nervous but I could see in that picture that there was something that told me Bella knew she was going to be ok. Within two weeks we visited Bella and noticed that Kersti and Bella had an instant bond based on the trust and patience that she built with Bella. We needed a trainer to lead Bella forward because she was not making progress. We weren't interested in Bella learning commands like sit and stay. We were more interested in Bella learning how to be a happy dog and enjoy doing fun dog things, like walking on a leash, riding in a car, chasing balls and to play/be social with other dogs. We also hoped for more crate training, listening and acting on commands. My husband and I thought Kersti had her hands full and we would be shocked if she accomplished most of this, but to our delight they mastered everything! She now runs to the door, tail wagging to go for a walk, walks on the beach without barking at humans, loves car rides, listens on command and LOVES her crate again (after months of refusing it). I have no idea how Kersti made all of this happen, but trust me when I say, this was nothing short of a miracle. This google review will never give Kersti justice, but we cannot say enough good things about Kersti. I will end with the fact that you will not find a better dog trainer than Kersti and we highly recommend her. She understands dog behavior and different dog breeds but knows the key is building trust with the dog and being a good leader. We moved from NC to Fl and I can tell you we would have NEVER been able to make this trip with Bella in the car without the help of Kersti! Bella passed with flying colors and we stopped 3 times and she did beautifully! Bella is living her best life at the beach now and we have Kersti to thank for this!

Amazing trainers and staff. Would highly recommend them to anyone looking for dog training! My dog and I have learned so much since he attended training camp and he continues to improve each day. Thanks Donnie, Tracy and the rest of the DTC staff!

Before camp, my dog had low confidence issues and trouble walking on a leash. We sent her to Lateria and not only did she come back home with better leash and house manners, she came back home a happier dog. With Lateria's help, she has transformed into a more confident and goofy dog. We are really enjoying her new personality.

Lateria worked with my 10 y.o. shih tzu (4 week training camp) and my 3 mo. shih tzu (private lesson). She is thoughtful, kind, and very talented at working and communicating with people and their dogs. She helped our 10 y.o. with severe separation anxiety and dog-dog interactions. Before our dog would pant and cry and scratch the whole time while we were gone. Now he can stay home by himself in his crate peacefully and quietly. It's a huge improvement for him and for us. Our 10 y.o. is doing better with staying calm in dog-dog interactions. It's a learning curve for all of us, but the improvement is incredible. Our puppy is working on nipping less and living in harmony with her grumpy older brother. In just a few weeks, I've seen a 180 degree improvement! Our lives are forever changed for the better. Lateria gave me near daily updates on my 10 y.o. at training camp, and worked around his vet/health issues (the groomer cut him and infected his tail the day before he left for training camp---requiring Lateria to deal with meds and follow up vet visits. She did so faithfully). Most importantly, she understood my dogs and helped me see ways that I could make their life together more harmonious. The training process isn't an overnight panacea. It's a lifestyle change for me and for my dogs, but it's well worth the effort and patience. I have found that being consistent (but not necessarily religious or rigid) with the training at home has transformed our home life. DTC is a huge commitment (financially, the follow work at home, the learning curve for us humans), but for our family it was well worth it. I consider Lateria not only a wise sage to help me troubleshoot problems with the doggos, but also a friend and forever a member of our family.

Our 6 month old Catalan Sheepdog Maz did the 3 week training camp with Latiera. We are so pleased with the results! Maz was taking over our lives. It felt like she had taken control of the house. She jumped on people and nipped. She pulled on the leash. She was destructive. We were in over our heads. Latiera spent time listening to our concerns and was empathic in her response. We got regular updates of Maz’s progress and were impressed by how far she had come in such little time. Once Maz arrived back to our home, it was a very different experience. Using the training video created by Latiera for guidance, we began to build a new relationship with Maz. We implemented the exercises and structure that Latiera established, and had something to build from. It helped us gain the leadership we lacked. We learned about how our body language communicates to Maz and how to best meet her need to be challenged. It was like hitting a reset button. Maz is now a polite walker. She sits, stays, and comes on command. She lets me brush her without fighting. She doesn’t jump up. She is better able to control her energy. We are all so much better off and happier! Latiera has been a wonderful resource and extremely accessible to help troubleshoot issues we’ve encountered since Maz has been home. We would definitely recommend DTC USA and Latiera to anyone in need of help with their dog. It was money well-spent and worthy every penny!

My goldendoodle Millie trained with Heather and Jay for puppy training camp and her results are amazing! Everyone who helped me during the whole process at DTC was amazing and super helpful. Heather and Jay listened to my concerns and quickly Identified problems and solutions for Millie behavior. They sent me pictures and updated frequently. Millie is the same happy loving life doodle with ALOT more self control. They also gave me the knowledge to continue her training and gave me tools and resources. Highly recommend DTC USA!!!

Our 9lb teenage Maltese Peekapoo mix was becoming a nightmare. She ran crazy in the house, chased the cats and terrorized them, nipped at my heels constantly (herding), would not eat and I couldn’t get her housebroken. We sent her to 3 week dog training with Heather and Jay and she came back a totally different dog! She behaves, sleeps in a crate (wouldn’t before), asks to go out, eats her food, and no longer runs around chasing and nipping! It’s amazing! We loved her before but she’s a dream now! They did an awesome job! It was a necessary investment that dog owners who are not trainers should make. They trained us on how to reinforce the new behaviors and we are amazed every day! It’s also great that they will be available to take care of Rosie if we go away (Continued Ed) and there to answer questions going forward. Hey also have group training on Sundays in a local park which is great and free if you went to camp. We love DTC USA!! Ask for Heather and Jay - You won’t be disappointed!!

I have nothing but good things to say about DTC USA! My husband and I have raised our first puppy for the past year and have learned so much about positive reinforcement and teaching her to respect us. We also love to utilize their Continuing Education while we are away- She has stayed with Lateria and Jonathan who have gone above and beyond to ensure our baby is taken care of, all while working on training on areas that need attention. It is the best thing leaving town knowing she is in the best care she could be, playing with the other dogs and even working on some training, instead of being locked in some awful kennel, which is the same price btw. We get lots of pics and updates too!! These folks are the best, you won’t go wrong!!!

We were very impressed with the professionalism and wonderful results we got from sending our Vizsla five-month-old puppy to three week training camp. We were initially put off by the cost but can now say it was worth every penny and was a great investment in the quality of our lives and relationship with this active puppy. We especially liked the fact that our dog lived with the trainer. Our trainer, Lateria, is a sweetheart, while at the same time showing great firmness and knowledge. As much as our our dog’s house manners and obedience transformed, we two human “parents” learned even more! We are continuing to learn through CE classes and social outings. Dog Training Camp USA covers it all!

Lateria had our one-year-old golden doodle Gunner for three weeks. His issues were jumping on people, sitting, going and staying on “place” and not being a Velcro dog. He is also a slightly anxious dog, frightened of males and new dogs in some situations. Gunner returned from his three weeks at Dog Training Camp with many new skills and increased confidence. We highly recommend this style of training. No correction collars are used and positive reinforcement of human rubs and love are the rewards. It has been easy to learn what Lateria used to get the good results. We will continue to use their meet ups and follow up training! We experienced very negative results with another local training company many years ago using the correction collar with an anxious dog.

We went to dog trainings at Cabelas with Donnie. We learned more in 1 day than in 12 weeks at other trainings .

We started with DTC-USA just over 5 years ago when we got our labradoodle puppy. We've taken training classes and attended several events, but the service that we appreciate most is the Continuing Education. Being able to leave town and know that our dog is in good hands and well taken care of is a great thing -- it makes our vacations that much better. We would absolutely recommend DTC-USA to our friends and family. Thanks guys!

My husband and I recently adopted a 3 year old pitbull (Thatcher). He is the gentlest and sweetest dog, but has so much energy and anxiety that he was really unmanageable- he was hyper alert and would bark at every noise outside, sometimes for hours, and was like a 70lb missile on walks. He would bark and try to run to every dog and person out in the world, and we worried that he would end up hurting or scaring a smaller dog or a more feeble adult, given his strength. We were at a point where we couldn’t take him on runs or hikes, and then he would just get more amped up and difficult at home. Our quality of life had really started to suffer, and most importantly we both had started to resent him, which isn’t fair to anyone. We had looked at doing DTC USA before, but the price tag gave us pause. Ultimately we decided that the money would be an investment in our life with Thatcher, and sent him to the 3 week training camp with Lateria. It’s hard to put into words what this program(and trainer) has done for Thatcher. After an initial evaluation, they matched him with Lateria, who loves and has experience with bully breeds. She took time to see what we were hoping to get from the program, and she delivered. All the things we love about thatcher are exactly the same, but in other ways he is unrecognizable- his anxiety is so much better, he is able to relax at home and is clearly so much happier than he was before. He is polite, has really good self control even over tough things like waiting to go through the front door or waiting for dinner, and we love having him around. Lateria has also been in contact since he finished, and we plan on sending him up for “tune ups” with her when we go out of town (instead of boarding).

We are HUGE FANS!!! DTC has helped our family SO much! We have 3 dogs (1 a new puppy) and we’ve done a couple private sessions at our house with Donnie and they’ve been great! My husband and I feel like we learn more than the dogs ????! We love their philosophy + most of all their love and care of all the animals they serve. Every time Donnie leaves we always feel SO empowered! You can tell the minute you interact with any trainer they do it because they love animals. The communication they help you build with your dogs is invaluable. I vetted a lot of trainers to find a group that met my goals and got our pack. So so thankful to have found DTC and look forward to lots more fun in the future! We use daycamp for our Puppy which he loves, and CE for the pack when we travel and all 3 do so well with it! We are fans for life, thank you DTC for taking such good care of our babies!!!

So happy with the training Rowdy has received by Lateria while we were on vacation. It was a blessing to know he was well taken care of AND came back with much better manners than when we dropped him off. It is evident Lateria and all of the staff have a calling to help others have the best pets possible. The videos and photos while were were on vacation showed how well he was doing and that he was adjusting to the training in place. Thank you all! and Woof from Beagle Rowdy!

Yesterday, we had a private lesson with Heather and Jay to work on leash manners and nipping with our labradoodle, Jeff. Heather and Jay taught us so much about leadership and showed us that our dog is insecure because we were not demonstrating the correct leadership in our home. Just one day later, our walks are going smoother and Jeff is more attentive. Can't wait to attend some group classes in the future!

Donnie came to my home for a private training session (along with helper Missy) to advise on how to help my sweet foster beagle overcome her anxiety. It was so helpful-much more than I had expected. I even got several pointers on my other dogs' issues! Donnie was easy to talk to, knew his stuff, and was willing to answer any question. He gave specific guidelines and training tips that were easy to follow through with after he left. I got exactly the type of help I was looking for-highly recommend Dog Training Camp USA!

Our experience with Shannon working with us to help our dog Beaux with anxiety/fear/confidence issues was phenomenal! She really took the time to teach us how to best help him put his trust in us instead of worrying about what to do and how to react to situations. We've learned a lot of great tools to help him on a daily basis with introductions, interactions (with dogs and people), walking attentively on a leash and learning boundaries inside the house. She was patient, friendly, and took time to explain WHY she was teaching us what she did. Wonderful experience and I would highly recommend Shannon and her team to anyone in need of a great trainer!

I signed up for a private session with our 3 dogs. The trainers were very knowledgeable and efficient! They did wonders in a very short amount of time and left me with easy-to-follow guidelines and tips to continue their training. I highly recommend this company!

We used Dog Training Camp USA help teach our rescue pit hound mix manners and listening skills. Anitra is an awesome trainer who not only trained our dog, but taught us many things as well which has made the dynamic between the family and our sweet girl so much better! I was a bit hesitant at firsts because of the price, but really, it's an investment and I can't recommend Dog Training Camp USA enough. Thank you!

We used Dog Training Camp USA initially as a continuing education weekend when we were going to be out of town. Our dog was very happy and had learned things over that short period of time. Jonathan was able to assess her and tell us the best time for her to proceed with camp, if we decided to go that route. Later we had Jonathan train her for three weeks. She came back a more laid-back dog and was much more manageable in our home. She was able to follow commands and all of us could enjoy her much more than we had before she left for training. Jonathan has given us many tools so that we can continue to improve her behavior. He made it very easy for pick-up and drop-offs, as we were out of town. We look forward to many more weekends of continuing education in the future! Thank you.

I have two furry babies. A German Shepherd (Legend) and a Beagle Dachshund mix (Jozie). Jozie is a handful to say the least. She had taken over the home and bullied the Shepherd around. Both dogs are aggressive and it was a nightmare to walk them in our neighborhood around other dogs. Jozie went to the 4 week training camp with her trainer Nick. I can't say enough great things about Nick. He is absolutely wonderful. Not only did Jozie learn new skills I have also learned how to take back my home. Even though I didn't send Legend to camp Nick and Kristie also helped me on how to handle his aggression around other dogs when I walk them both. They are lifesavers. Dog Training Camp USA is a wonderful program. The CE classes are a great way to keep your dogs (and owner) on track and to go over any issues you may be having. I highly recommend them and will continue to use their services for my fur babies.

We are so grateful we found Dog Training Camp, I only wish we would have found them sooner! As first-time dog parents of 2 adolescent black labs, we slowly realized that we needed professional help with training. Daily life with 2 big unruly dogs was becoming a chore. The 3-week training camp saved us. When our dogs completed the camp, they had a solid foundation of basic manners. The trainers then showed us the training techniques they used so we could continue reinforcing good behavior at home. Things like going for a walk with the dogs or preparing meals were no longer a constant struggle. We looked at several options for dog training before making a decision. Here are the 3 main reasons why we chose Dog Training Camp: 1. The training methods are positive-reinforcement instead of fear-based. 2. The dogs live with a trainer at the trainer's home instead of at a kennel. So when they learn how to behave at the trainer's home (ex. dogs learn to lie down quietly while the people have dinner), it transfers quite easily once they return to your home. 3. We never have to board our dogs at a kennel when we need to go out of town. Instead, they just go back to a trainer's house for "Continuing Education." Staying at a trainer's home seems to be much less stressful for our dogs. Plus, they get loads of exercise and attention while we're away AND refresher on their manners. Honestly, the training allowed us to enjoy spending time with our dogs again. It was worth every penny.
