They got my toy poodle puppy back on his feet when he was deathly ill. I thought I was gonna lose him. I texted them early Thursday after taking him on Wednesday and his condition worsened and Dr.Hild got him back to almost normal in nearly 8hrs. Thank you guys for all you do for our pets.

We started coming here years ago with Dr. N. He wasn’t ever the most personable but he always had a 6th sense of knowing what was wrong with the dogs. They loved him and I’m not there for me. Dr. Hild took over and the dogs have been in great care. Our little silky terrier has been through it. He lost a toe due to cancer, he lost part of his side torso due to cancer, he’s had teeth removed, and today he had to have all the remaining teeth removed. My dog wasn’t thrilled ever to go to a vet appt and get dropped off but Dr. Hild always explains what and why she did what she did. He’s maybe 14 or 16 because I don’t know if he was actually 4 when we got him. We feel lucky to have found a vet we trust. We used to go to quail corners and it was overpriced and not personal at all. We sometimes have to go to another vet after hours but this is our tried and true home. We love our babies more than anything and feel confident they do the best they can.

My friends recommended this vet to us however our experience was total disappointment. We had an appointment today at 11am for our cat. They put us in a room and we started waiting for the vet which she never showed up. After 25 minutes, the nurse came in and asked us if we want to reschedule or keep waiting? We left the place without seeing any vet. We will not be going back this place who does not respect their patients time. We do not recommend this place.

I would NOT use this vet. I have taking my 2 dogs to see Dr. Hild for the last year, but my visit today was the final straw! Here's what happened... Not only is Dr. Hild cold and distant, she is at times a bit rude. Both my dogs need their DA2P shot and one of my dogs had discharge and a growth that I wanted checked out. When I got back to the room, the receptionist, Shelly went over why we were there. Dr. Hild came in the room and started rattling off everything she said my dogs needed. I said I feel like that's a lot and going to be more than I expected to pay. Dr. Hild asked if I wanted an itemized list and I said yes. Shelly came in and told me that they both needed annual exams, their DAP2 vaccines, fecal and heart worm test. I told her that they still had 2 more months of heart guard and they get it every month like clockwork, so I wanted to come back another time for that test and i didn't want them getting the fecal test either. She said ok let me tell the vet. She then comes back in and said, I'm sorry Dr. Hild has already drawn the blood and is doing the heart worm test. I told her that I was supposed to discuss the list before anything started. The receptionist just ignored me and said, I would just get it but you don't have to do the fecal. I was stunned but what was I going to do, she already had completed it. Dr. Hild also ALWAYS takes my dogs out of the room for their exam, which I'm not sure why since there are exam tables in each room. I find it strange that she does not exam the animals with their owner present so she can talk with you about what's going on. If she would exam dogs in front of their owners, the owner would be able to ask questions and let her know what was needed before a service is performed. Dr. Hild told me my dog has arthritis and prescribed some anti-inflammatory medicine, told me the lump was benign but NEVER even mentioned the discharge. I didn't even think about it until I got home and realized she never said anything about it. After paying almost $400, I looked at the bill when i got home and realized that Dr. Hild had given both of my dogs a Bordetella vaccine that NO ONE even mentioned to me beforehand. As a dog owner I have the right to decide what vaccines my dogs get, especially when I'm the one paying for them! No one ever told me that they were getting it nor did I give my permission for them to administer it. I'm assuming it was given but you never know because she takes you animal into another room for an exam. Ridiculous!

I took my dog here when she was starting to fall ill and in pain. I knew something was serious, but Dr. Hild said it was arthritis and weight and prescribed pain meds. When I explained her stools had changed she said she probably had a parasite and will treat at her annual and kept telling me to cut back on her food. I explained she was not overweight and that something was off about my dog. A week later, things worsened and they wouldnt bring me in until the end of the day. I took my dog immediately to Carefirst Animal Hospital and they drew blood out of her abdomen and confirmed she had cancer. These were the last moments of her life. Me and my dog were finally treated with respect. I wouldn't recommend Brentwood or Dr. Hild to my worst enemy.

I recently went to a different animal hospital with a friend and their dog where they did the exam and the shots there in front of us which I really appreciated. At Brentwood they took my dog into the back and brought her back maybe 15 mins later. How was I to know they actually did the exam and gave her the shot that I paid for? The staff were friendly and wonderful, pricing wasn’t too bad, but I would have liked to actually see the things they were doing to my dog. I probably won’t be back just because I think they should do exams and shots in front of the owner.

Awful experience. The vet had no compassion at all and I was very unhappy. Clearly she doesnt like children either because of her attitude and reaction towards my child. I will not bring my pets there again and would not recommend that vet.

Dr Hild is a very compassionate doctor who handled my dogs with love and the very best in veterinary care. Having multiple large dogs I was referred to this practice years ago and have never looked back. One of my dogs had a critical trauma that Dr Hild saw us through and has cared for her with the best advice and care and sadly we said goodbye to Howard, an old friend who she lovingly showed him over the rainbow bridge when he was 15. Howard will be missed, still crying. I’m leaving the state and have to find a new vet and I can only hope that I find one that is as reasonably priced and as caring and knowledgeable as Dr Hild. I was referred to the practice originally because of Shelly at the front desk because she is amazing and has a way with all animals. Truly special. She never let us down. Brittany is also a gem and can handle anything and is on top of the situation. I don’t know the others by name because they just take such good care without being intrusive. If you are looking for the best care and advice definitely go to Brentwood. They got you and your babies.

EDIT: Updating my review since Dr. N retired. Dr. Hild, who had already been there for a while is now the only vet at this location. She is very sweet and friendly, and when my poor girl was suffering Dr. Hild was patient and helped me choose the best options. I lost my cat this past summer to what we're thinking was cancer, and haven't yet gotten a new cat. But I will not hesitate to return here once I've brought a new ball of fluff into my life. Prices didn't change and are still very affordable, and the rest of the staff are all friendly. Old review: Dr. N, Shelley, and the rest of their team are all wonderful to work with and very friendly and understanding. Dr. N is humorous but blunt, and very no-frills - he won't suggest unnecessary tests and does a very good job of explaining things. I've been taking my geriatric (16 year-old) cat to them since autumn 2015 and am very pleased. An office visit and exam is less than $50, and all other procedures are reasonably priced as well from what I can tell. I plan to continue going to this vet as long as I'm living in the area, and would suggest him and his team to anyone.

The staff is so great! Even though I'm sad Dr N retired, Dr Hild is fantastic.

Best Veterinary practice in Raleigh. Dr Hill is amazing and really cares about her patients. Prices are very reasonable compared to the rest of the triangle. The prices are just a bonus though...I am a client because of the high level of care they give my pets. I have referred many of my clients here as well and they love it too. Highly recommended!!

Doctor Hild is excellent, she is helpful and explains what is going on! Shelli at the front desk is the best, everyone is always happy and concerned!!!

We have taken our dogs to Brentwood for years. In good times and bad they have been treated with care and compassion.

I have been taking my pets to Brentwood Animal Hospital for at least 15 years and have never had a problem nor reason to complain. In fact, just the opposite. I can't say enough good things about Dr. Steve and his staff. They loved my pets and I always felt comfortable with his diagnosis and treatment. Since Dr. Steve retired, I have only had one occasion to visit Brentwood. I'm not quite that comfortable with the new vet yet, but perhaps that will come with time.

We took our pets to Dr. N for 8 years and only stopped because we moved too far away. Dr. N is an amazing vet that is honest about options and his recommendations. He’s a friendly, funny, no-nonsense guy. His fees are VERY reasonable and all the staff is wonderful, especially Shelly!

The best vet and staff. Have been going to Dr. Steve for 20 years with our pets. Reasonable rates on all services and just great down to earth doc.

Dr. Hild is an awesome vet! Shelly, Daniel, Katy are awesome...(plus others I don't know their names offhand). We've been going to Brentwood since 2006 and wouldn't go anywhere else. The best care for our pets and the prices are low...even on prescription food.

Great staff that is much better than other vets we have been to. I would highly recommend.

I highly recommend Brentwood Animal Hospital. The staff was very courteous, very clean facility, and they have a heart. We had to put our beloved family member to sleep. This was our first visit. They were caring and understanding from when we called to make the appointment all the way through the end. As with everyone, your dog is not a pet, but a family member and I do not trust my family members with just anyone. I only wish I had found them sooner.

All of our cats go here for their health needs. Excellent staff, excellent doctor. We will hate it when he retires soon. He has a veterinarian in the process of buying the practice and I like her already.

Clueless in the treatment of fleas!?! But will tell you to scare away ALLL the squirrels in the neighborhood....cause according to BAH it is all due to the flea infested squirrels!?!?!?!

Brentwood Animal Hospital is a fantastic place where you and your pets are treated like family. Dr Neuenschwander is a genuinely good man who cares more than most people will ever know. I am so sad that he will no longer be practicing, but very happy for him and his well deserved retirement. Dr Hilde has Dr N's confidence, so she also has mine. I am sure that she will do him proud, and carry on this great practice for years to come.
