I brought my German Shepherd puppy Koda here about 2 weeks ago for rat poison ingestion. 2 weeks later we've come back in for a broken back leg. The staff have been nothing short of amazing. Nurses and vets were very thorough, …

When I called (9pm 1/7/22) and explained my dog’s situation the receptionist was very helpful, kind & knew exactly where to channel my call. I then spoke with Meagan (who is a nurse / registered technician) while in a panic. She has phenomenal listening skills & walked me through what was happening. She was intelligent and compassionate, her communication was clear and calming. She also let me know what to look out for & let me know she would be there until midnight if any thing changed. It was my first encounter with Blue Pearl and I will be back because this experience was exceptional. Blue Pearl and it’s patients are fortunate to have Meagan as a resource. Thank you!

Negligent treatment - my dog had severe vestibular symptoms clearly caused by an ear infection which was found a few days later by another vet by a quick swab of the ear. BluePearl said her ear was 'normal; and would not provide any treatment. Since they did not prescribe steroids or anything for the ear infection, her condition worsened over the holiday weekend since no other vet was open. The lack of due diligence and proper treatment is disgusting - they just want your money and are clearly unqualified.

I took my cat in to be euthanized. She died in my arms!!! They had to inject her to "make sure" she was dead"! All because they wanted the money! They lacked compassion during and afterwards. It was extremely traumatic for us. We didn't get proper time to say goodbye. They came in and took her out of my arms! When it was VSH I took her mom in to be euthanized both had cancer. She died while they were shaving her for the catheter. They gave us all the time we needed to say our goodbyes! Very sweet and professional the way they handled it! I want VSH back!!! ???? I don't know about you. My animals are family! I'll never be back and all my friends and colleagues know also.

On 9/30, our rescue dog was diagnosed with diabetes. She was treated initially at her primary vet. We were unable to get her sugars under control over 600 range for 2 days. We were referred to Blue Pearl in Raleigh on10/1, where she was admitted for 2 days and sugars were reduced to the 300-400 range. She came home on Sunday night 10/3, then was spay on 10/4 and readmitted to Blue Pearl in Cary for overnight observation to control her sugar and monitor since her surgery. In speaking with the Vet, they wanted to have a follow up visit today 11/8. Her sugars were being electronically monitored by Blue Pearl, since being discharged with regard to her sugars, we never received any call from the Vet. If we would have kept giving our dog 10 units of insulin per the Vet, we would have killed our dog. We showed up today for the follow up and informed, they did not have an appointment and was most likely caused by them upgrading their scheduling software, but wanted to know how our dog was doing. It is a little too late for caring, after we spent over $4000 and have not heard anything from the Vet. Be very mindful of how your Vet's manage your pets, they pull at your heart strings and charge outrageous prices and barely care. My wife and I are both nurses, we took better care of our dog without follow up. Their answer was we normally don't call, so let me tell you this, if your family members were/are treated like this in a hospital, would you put up with this...the answer is no, so you should not put up with it for your pet. The great part if this story, our dog is doing great and is no longer a diabetic!

DON’T CALL THIS PLACE OR CONSIDER TAKING YOUR PET HERE! I called this horrible place because my cat was very ill. The individual who picked up the phone was VERY RUDE and NASTY after I asked what the process would be upon arrival since she said it would be THREE HOURS before my cat could see a doctor. She responded with her nasty attitude that a nurse would come to my car and get my cat at some point after my arrival. Her attitude told me all I needed to know and that this facility was not the place for my cat. Thankfully my husband was able to locate another emergency animal hospital. The person who picked up the phone was kind, understanding and asked how soon I could get there. My cat was immediately seen upon arrival. MY CAT DIDN’T HAVE THREE HOURS TO WAIT AND SEE A DOCTOR OR TIME FOR THE NURSE TO COME AND GET HER WHENEVER. My cat had only 20 minutes left on this earth after our arrival. I am thankful that my cat was made comfortable and I got to spend that time with her instead of in my car, which is where the rude individual said I would be if I had of gone to this horrible facility. DON’T CALL OR CONSIDER THIS PLACE FOR YOUR PET’S EMERGENCY CARE!!!

The medical side of this location is awesome. They saved our dogs life. I can't give them a 5 because I had to call them about the refund against my card because the bill ended up being considerably less than the deposit I had to make going in. We are on auto payment with Chase for the full amount and the pay date is getting very close. It's now the 5th day after we picked up our puppy and they still had not processed the credit against our card. I should not have had to call, it should have been protocol. Watch your money folks.

My dog is staying overnight after a very probable snake bite and one emergency vet visit prior to this in the area I was previously in… he continued showing escalated symptoms that I was assured were fine. I was able to fill forms out as we drove, sent pictures, and the techs/doctors were waiting on arrival to take my pet in. This wasn’t the normal emergency clinic I would have seen(any close were at 100% capacity) but I would take my dog here if anything crazy happens in the future(????) the Vet was knowledgeable, amazing, and broke the treatment plan down in simple terms and the front desk/and or techs were amazing and to the point while still being sympathetic and even sent pictures of my pup while in care. 10/10

I won't go into too many details, but my pup got sick very suddenly and his symptoms were not going away. He was there for about 70hrs and I called multiple times a day for an update. Each and every time, not matter who I talked to, I was never pushed off the phone and was always spoken to with such kindness and care. They showed me over and over that not only were they trying to get to the root of it, but they were going the extra mile to give me and my dog extra comfort. Overall, I thank fate that the original EV I called was too backed up to take him and I was led here. Not sure how this emergency vet compares to others in pricing. But for anyone looking for a quick reference: I paid 1200 for every 24hrs. he stayed and then a few hundred for xray and blood work. (I think this is fairly average). But I did not get the impression that they were just doing things to run my bill up. At every step of the way I got a call explaining the options and pricing and what they honestly thought could wait and what couldn't. They are too busy to just run your bill up. A QUICK RESPONSE TO THE POOR REVIEWS: This is an emergency vet. That means 1. they are professionals who are going to prioritize the most serious and urgent cases first (that means that even though you may believe your animal is in immediate danger they will assess and act accordingly). and 2. they are BUSY. You having to wait for care, although it sucks, is not indicative of a bad team and therefore not worthy of a bad review. There were multiples times I called and I heard "there are a few emergencies and so we will call you back when we can" but this does not mean my dog is not receiving care, it means they are trained vets who know who they need to prioritize. It sucks having to wait and watch your animal in pain, but the staff here is not doing that to spite you.

STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE. They are completely in it for the money. My boxer has been having some issues so we took him to this emergency vet. They performed services we did not ask for at a high cost and also kept coming back with additional things they could do, at an extreme cost. They don't listen to you and it is obvious they are only in this for the money....... and they are ridiculously expensive!

Wonderful patient care, wonderful staff. Very wonderful at communicating and happy to answer questions from concerned pet owners. After a second time here I want to reiterate how wonderful the staff is, and how warm and welcomed we felt as we lost a member of the family. I would 100x over recommend this place to anyone with pets.

My dog ate a toxic chemical at the house. Closest 24 hour emergency vet in the area. He was seizing and constantly throwing up. Was told “I have to wait in the parking lot for “at least 4 hours” before they would even think about seeing him. So I tell them that my dog could die waiting that long, he’s already having seizures! They told me “sorry that’s the all we can do!” Are you kidding me? This is the most embarrassing joke of a veterinarian hospital I have ever seen. If you want a chance for your animal to live, I’d advise you going someplace else. Good chance if your animal is “dying” that they will lose their life before this place helps.

I can’t put into words how much the doctors and nurses at Blue Pearl have done for our dog, Winston (Winnie), and how much they mean to us. Winnie was diagnosed with lymphoma six months ago today, and due to the type of lymphoma he has, was only given a life expectancy of 5-6 months even with chemotherapy. Not only is Winnie thriving right now, he has also led a completely normal life for the last six months. Dr. Carly Stevens has been his primary doctor and is so wonderful. She is so compassionate, understanding, and has been such an advocate for Winston. Winston also has anxiety and was very nervous and uncomfortable at his first appointment. His primary nurse, Ms. Lacinda Prevatt, is a literal angel on earth, and as a result of her loving and patient nature, Winnie now looks forward to going to his appointments and runs towards her when she comes to get him in the parking lot. They are so communicative and respond immediately when I have concerns. Blue Pearl has done so much more than just treat Winnie’s cancer, and I’ll be forever grateful for Dr. Carly Stevens, Lacinda Prevatt, and the rest of the staff for all they have done for Winnie and for my husband and me.

1st this is a great resource, which is staffed 24 x 7. With specialized training and radiologist on staff for x-rays, sonograms, CT etc. Along with a full complement of a lab, pharmacy, emergecy treatment and hospitalization all on site. Considering my GSD case the being seen on a Sunday morning through afternoon the rates are more than reasonable. The staff is not only caring and professional, but they empathize with the patient and client. And work hard to accommodate both. They do not perform any unnecessary tests or exams. The communication between myself and the medical physician was detailed, clear and is eager to hear the client's thoughts and concerns. 5 STARS is simply not enough.

We spent 4 hours sitting in BluePearl (Raleigh, NC) parking lot waiting for 2 tests to be completed on my dog. After waiting 2 hours I called them. We were told the tests were completed, the doctor needed to review the tests, and we would hear from them soon. We waited another 1 1/2 hours. I called again. Finally, 15 min. later we got a callback to discuss the test results. At No point did anyone from the hospital say it would take a long time in case we wanted to go home and wait for their call. The 4 hour wait with the engine running, all that time, in order to have air conditioning in 90° heat cost over 800 dollars. BTW, they could not definitively diagnose what was wrong with my dog.

It was a very nice experience for both of us. Wish I hadn't had to but he was limping. The initial call and speaking with the attendant was wonderful explained everything gave good directions to get there and had an uplifting spirit in her voice. Check in was nice and easy checking attendant was very friendly and attentive. Upon examination the doctor phoned explained what he saw and didn't find thank goodness, and stated what the procedure going forward was going to be. Overall if we ever have another emergency this will be our go-to place.

It was incredibly hard to find an emergency vet that didn't have a 4-5hr wait! They said they are all extremely busy right now. The vet I saw, Dr. Nicholas de Silvia was nothing short of amazing! The staff seemed as concerned about my fur baby as we were - took up time with us to explain what they suspected was going on, the treatment plan and alternative treatment plan (in case the initial plan was unsuccessful). Despite having a parking lot at capacity of pet owners on a Saturday evening, they treated us as if we were the only patients there. Truly amazing.

Tried to get our pet seen and were told it would be at least a four hour wait. Would not let the 93 year old owner into the building to get out of the heat. While we were there waiting we talked to a man who had been looking for his cat for 5 hours because they let the cat escape from its carrier. This used to be an excellent facility when it was VSH, but I would not recommend.

We brought our dog here for cancer treatment exactly 1 year ago when they were VSH. I am not sure what happened after they became Blue Pearl I will never go here again and will warn everyone I know not to either. Our dog’s cancer has returned and this time dealing with them has been a nightmare. Their system is down(as I have been told by 8 different people 20 different times). Ok fine, it happens. So the receptionist tells me to go and get our dog’s records from our primary Vet so I can bring them over, which I do. Then after calling them multiple times, they tell us that because their systems are down, they can’t even see our dog for 6 weeks. Her cancer is aggressive, growing by the week and they waste our time. When I try to call and understand I am transferred to about 5 different people with not one person being able or willing to take any responsibility.

They were awesome, I know a lot of people complain of long wait times but that is because they are dealing with many different emergency's! Amy was the sweetest and helped my pup get back to feeling better! They were quick to respond!
