I called this place because my parents have an aging cat that they are having a hard time caring for. I asked them if they accepted surrenders and if we needed an appointment or if we could just stop by. The lady laughed at me and then asked if I would surrender my aging parents as I would this cat. Yes, people do, under circumstances not always in their control, have to place their parents in hospice care or in a home. I cant believe a place like this LAUGHED at me for suggesting that they take her in. To hell with me for wanting to find a pleasant and comfortable place for this cat to live out the rest of her life.

I love this place! It is kitty heaven and I think it might be the best place on earth! We have adopted a cat from there in 2014. Her name is Love and she is happy and well. Definitely adopt from here!

This place is a God Send for kittens and cats. If the Goathouse did not exist, sick, disabled, displaced, abused and at risk cats would be killed. The Goathouse could definitely benefit from more community help in the form of volunteers, sponsors, sustainers, supplies, equipment and more. They cuurently have a matching campaign in effect so please donate what you can. Every little bit helps. The Goathouse needs another building to house more cats and a vet clinic to care for those who arrive injured or sick. You can also visit Amazon Smile to purchase items from their wishlist at Goathouse Wish List on Amazon and a kitty wishlist at Kitten Wish List on Amazon. Take a few minutes ti visit this amazing sanctuary and thank them for all they do. Help them to save a life!

This is the coolest place for a shelter kitty to live! They have a big house with a large yard and wonderful volunteers to provide all of their needs. I came home with an adorable little black panther and she is the light of my life!

Need a cat? They have a lot of friendly, free range cats in all colors and ages. Our family has adopted 2. It's also fun to go love on them, so go out and visit.

This wonderful place is one of a kind. The freedom the cats have is great for them. She is the most dedicated rescue person I have ever met. Only great things to say about this organization.

If I could give a zero I would. I simply called to ask if there was room for 2 cats. My family is moving and having to go to an apartment. Had the conversation continued, my question was going to be...can my cats be fostered here for a few weeks until we can get settled in a house, instead I was cut off with, "you loved your cats when they were kittens, but now you're just going to throw them away?" No! I am looking for a foster, someone who can keep them until I can have space again. Those comments were ridiculous. I saved both of my cats. Just like you save all the cats at this rescue. Thank you for being judgemental and rude. Definitely won't be recommending this establishment to anyone.

Kitties everywhere! The staff was so kind, even though we were just visiting for snuggles. The cats seem very happy and chill too.

My initial impression when I first came to the Goathouse was of confusion. I didnt know if I had come to the right place or not. We went through the exterior gate and walked along the path then saw the cats in the interior compound. Everywhere I looked, cats were wandering about or sunning themselves - it was amazing. We came to the building and entered, inside is a board which tells you about each of the cats (approximately 200 or so of them). You go through the door into the main room and wow, kitties everywhere. You learn very quickly which ones want to say hello and which are more reserved/shy. The staff and volunteers here are absolutely amazing, if you are looking to adopt a cat or even just want to go cuddle kitties I would 100% recommend this place.

It's full right now, but the animals are graciously cared for & loved. The animals appear to be in good health. The grounds are clean & well cared for. If you want to adopt a cat she has a lot of varieties to choose from.

This is truly a sanctuary for cats and cat lovers. If you are looking for a cat this is the place for you. There are so many cats available its painful to see. This place is one of the best examples of a small cat sanctuary I have ever seen. Even if you are not in the market for a cat come check this place out. Just be careful with children as the cats are all free to roam and some just want to be cats and not coddled or touched at all. Others are super affectionate and friendly. When we visited there were people just sitting in various places in the shade inside or outside under trees holding the cat of there choice. Definitely a zen like experience. Highly recommended. For adoption plans call ahead to make sure they can help you.

The Goathouse Refuge is a wonderful rescue organization. We recently adopted a cat from the Goathouse, and it is clear he was loved and well taken care of during his time there. The adoption process was thorough, but the volunteers made it straightforward and quick. We loved visiting to meet all the cats, it really is a unique experience to be able to play with 200 free roaming cats!
